You are right that Bitcoin gives us control over our assets, and that is why the government was initially against Bitcoin, but now they have started seeing the benefit of Bitcoin, and all they can do is to regulate exchanges to make sure they have a firm grip of them, but they can never get a grip of bitcoin as it is a decentralized network ledger and that is why bitcoin can never be controlled by anybody.

Aside the control, government were against bitcoin because they were sacred about bitcoin kicking out the traditional fiat currency and that’s what they didn’t want. They came to acceptance of bitcoin and started relaxing the restrictions put on it not because they simply started identifying the importance or advantages of bitcoin because I am confident that those benefits were evident from start but the reason for this recent acceptance is because they do not see a way to actually discourage people away from it and the growth of bitcoin was clear and that’s why they just had to come down to reality. There acceptance is like the saying “if you can’t beat them, then join them”

 But nevertheless there is still chances of giving it a go, there isn’t late time to invest in it so since we have little understanding of it we can think of giving it a chance due to it history so far.

Biggest issue here is the government because they control everything and also create awareness on what they want, up to this moment that they are taxing from cryptocurrency they don't want people to know about it because they know how it give someone financial freedom, which they don't want us to because they believe that if we are all involved and starting making money through it we will all ignore them even when they need our attention. A lot of people still see Bitcoin as a ponzi scheme that is why they keep running away from it desperate some people find it very difficult to believe all what you said to them about bitcoin.

There is an idea some people have that in the absence of cash, Bitcoin is an alternative which is a wrong motive it does not work like that Bitcoin is still growing and coming up many people and countries are still learning, knowing and studying how it can be used effectively and probably.

These are people who don't understand BTC, because those that understood BTC will not see BTC as a wrong decentralized asset. What some newbies need is to find way to learn the basic of BTC from those that understand BTC and from there you can improve higher to begin to experience positive things other Bitcoiners are experiencing from BTC. I also don't see anything wrong with someone leaving what he doesn't feel comfortable with, scammers are everywhere and sometimes no matter how smart you are or you think you are, they will outsmarted you, because they will appear to you in a way that would never imagine. Buy, sell and hold Bitcoin for the long term depends completely on a person own mentality.
