The team behind the Art has taken it home to rebuild the damaged Statue, the question remains whether they'll take it back to thesame exact location where it was Vandalized.

I think that if they bring the statue back to the same place, it will most likely be vandalized again because the person who did this is not much different from the person who previously vandalized it. So the statue will just keep getting vandalized again and again no matter how much they repair it. Unless the statue maker hires security to guard the statue, maybe that can be prevented, but it is unlikely that he would want to spend money on that.

Lets be honest.
How many people have you met in real life (excluding meetings/conferences) where people are aware of bitcoin ?
How many of them are really enthusiast? Personally I have always seen more people negative on the argument.
I would not just be focused on this event because we will always find some fools that "hate bitcoin". No surprises at all. It's human nature.
Anyway vandalism is always a brutal gesture. Arrogant and useless, moreover if toward a certain symbol.
If you had asked this question a few years ago I would have agreed with you, but these years I disagree with you. Depends on where you live and what kind of people you run into, but you'd be surprised at the uptick in people who are aware or even better have Bitcoin in the recent years. I keep stumbling upon them, some are obviously just superficial Bitcoiners but I have also on many occasions run into hardcore maximalists by chance. It depends also where you are looking, if you hang around bank circles probably not but if you go into areas where Bitcoin is accepted or there are ATMs you are bound to meet people.

If the statue is destroyed over and over again it wouldn't reflect on the value of Bitcoin
This was never in question here.

Can't the municipality just put cameras in that area? Is it really that expensive to put cameras? Grin
Cameras do not prevent targeted attacks, they prevent people who are otherwise normal from suddenly acting crazy and doing something bad. Like some kids that suddenly got the idea to vandalize something, a camera may make them reconsider their plan. If there is organized hate by a criminal against the statue, a camera alone won't do much.

At the moment, there are no information from the police about who did this, but it's quite unclear why people or a person would attack a peaceful decentralized statue of a great man.

My guess would be that it is just some angry person looking for something to take their anger out on.  It is funnier to speculate though that maybe it is someone who had their significant other leave them and get rich with Bitcoin or maybe it was someone who put all their money into a leveraged position and got stomped out.

It could also just be someone who thought they could easily steal some material and sell it for scrap.

For such a location, Cameras would only help in getting the culprit easily, but won't stop vanderlizers from carrying out their evil act. The statue is too accessible for everyone just like the concept of Bitcoin, when an art is made and kept in a place where passers-by are allowed to go through even at the late hours of nights, it'll be vulnerable to acts like this, while a Camera can scare some reasonable culprits away from destroying the Statue, some haters wouldn't mind executing their plans on masks, provided they could access the location.
~snip~

Any solution is better than none, and cameras will deter most of those who think of destroying public property. Those who put on masks to hide their identity often take them off as soon as they are out of the camera's reach, but they are too stupid to realize that at that moment and all the time afterwards they are being recorded by at least several other surveillance cameras.

That is why it is quite easy for the police to find such people - the problem is that the judiciary does not punish them with penalties that would be a deterrent for anyone who thinks of something like that.

Seriously? killing someone over something this small? Cheesy It would not only be bad, but it would also be counter productive to what you are trying to achieve as well. Satoshi would have not cared, he himself wouldn't mind something like this, dude is literally afk (or maybe dead) and never cared about taking credit for something he created which reached trillions of dollars after him. Why would he care about a statue?

In fact, having a statue for his name, is something he wouldn't even want. And we are thinking about actual physical hurt over someone who just paints over something like that? Let them, in fact let it be like that Lennon wall, let people do whatever you want to it, it will not matter to anyone and it is not hurting anyone.

An fence should be built around the statue to prevent future vandalizations because if no action is taken, more people will see it as a norm and continue.
In addition to my suggestion about the fence, I suggest that a warning should be place around it as well.
So no matter what the intention of the person whether hate, frustration, or they want to pass a message, there will be deterred.
What about a CCTV camera placed somewhere, indirect to where the statue is placed because having a fence would block the view of the statue of Satoshi for people far and near to take a look at. But having a CCTV camera will uncover who the culprit is, and he or she will be arrested, to give reasons why he or she destroyed the statue of Satoshi that did nothing

With what is happening around the Bitcoin technology currently, nothing happens that doesn't have a team of people perpetrating the act. These things are made to look like is random or some certain kind of people with some mischievous reaction going on in their lives out of frustration do things like this, when something happens too often, in less than a year, an art gets obstructed of it's purpose, It's likely to be a planned affair, and the people behind it could do something worse. The measures taken about the occurrence won't count, however, nothing is meant to stop the learning process the work portrays in the lagoon. Would the vanderlizers ever get tired of doing this when they now see that their action is making it to the news?

Hate? Frustration? It's not the first time people are going to show their hatred towards Bitcoin.
---
I'm also thinking that they did it because they lost significant amount of money by investing not only on Bitcoin, but in crypto in general, and they want to release their frustration towards a statue. I'm not saying that we don't have the right to release our frustration onto something, but to do it on a statue? I mean they can do it with another thing and not with a statue, right? Cheesy

Losers will destroy it, and I can't blame them, but I hope that in the future, there will be charges that will be put towards the people who are doing this kind of thing.

It could be some people who have grudge or simply some teenagers lashing out to any form of art. I think if Satoshi know, he wouldn't care even a bit.

This doesn't represent any sentiment toward bitcoin though. Tons of other cases where statues are getting vandalized. Just another occurrence in a society.

Losers who lost bitcoins will try to become scammers for getting bitcoins back.
Many Bitcoin ogs, forum ogs, vip members and donators became scammers.

People who attack Bitcoin are more possibly the ones who have never used, invested, traded Bitcoin. They are outsiders with skeptics about Bitcoin and they don't see Bitcoin as an innovative technology and an good investment asset, so they used their emptied knowledge about Bitcoin to attack it for fun.

Why do people hate Bitcoin?

The status of the vandalized Satoshi statue has been restored to look like this, the team is keen to continue the good work...and is looking to move the statue to Elsalvado where the government value bitcoin and would take into account whoever dares to vandalize the statue again, as said in his comment on X
