Time and money are both valuable but the difference is that if you lose money, you can earn it again but once time is gone, you can't get it back. OP analogy is very interesting, and i also agree that time is precisious as resources. But talking about time, i think the important thing whether our time is exchanged for value or not, after that we can conclude wheter we waste timr or used it properly. matter of fact, time used everyday by everyone but the difference between each people are some convert time into skill, money, impact, helathy, energy and other simply waste it without producing meaningfull value such as oversleeping, excessive hobbies, and excessive entertainment. We do need money and those who are experiencing the lowest of their lives would even like to trade most of their time for it. We don't need luxury as a standard for achieving happiness, but it's as if we're made to have everything to achieve happiness in life.
