Yes, that's right. Although Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, it is very different from altcoins. Since its inception Bitcoin has consistently experienced significant growth, consistently ranking number one. This is all because Bitcoin is the first and largest crypto asset ever. In fact Bitcoin has become a benchmark in the crypto market, giving it advantages, especially in terms of adoption. Furthermore, in terms of security Bitcoin is far safer than other coins.

So, Bitcoin is indeed the only true cryptocurrency even in terms of decentralization. Bitcoin is the ultimate in true decentralization, as it doesn't have a single system that can easily be shut down the community decides the direction of its development. Every thing is real. The term "real" can have several meanings, like something that truly exists and is not fake or a scam. It can also mean it is the real man of the house, while alts are just women of the house and they cannot be "real" because of their calibre. Hmm, I think that is a bit misogynistic, sorry haha.

BTC is indeed real, but alts like ETH and some other ones are also real. And what shady things are happening with ETH, can you shed some light? Speaking of NFTs, they are really done. I keep seeing news and videos of celebrities buying NFTs worth millions, and now they are worth nothing, like the one Justin Bieber bought.

Whatever people will call for btc, we all know that it has equivalent value in fiat. And for those who are still in doubt, I would say, we don't need people who are having negative notion towards this market. Because this currency can continue to exist even without them. And it is up to them whether they will get a hold of btc or not. That's the good thing here - no one is forced to buy or hodl satoshis. It is up to them how they will manage their btc portfolio. And up until now, no other alt surpassed the popularity of btc, despite of the thousands of alts that we have in this market.

Why are you asking this question? Are we back in 2013 or something? It's like asking "why water is wet?". What shady ETH happenings are you talking about? Are you saying that ETH is a scam? Can you prove it? Define "real crypto" and how do you distinguish real crypto from fake crypto? If you ask a Bitcoin hater, then Bitcoin is a total scam, the Bitcoin haters can "prove" that Bitcoin is a scam, there are plenty of Youtube videos about it. I think one thing that most people don't realize is that bitcoin is the real decentralized currency, as there is no team behind it and the creator, Satoshi, isn't active or even exists.

While all the other projects, including Ethereum, have their founders and they can always pump/dump and manipulate as most of the altcoin owners hold a great portion of the supply with them. That is why we see bitcoin with over 60% overall market cap, and if we exclude the stablecoin market cap, we are left with very little market cap share of the altcoins in the overall crypto industry.

I would say 90% yes. However, Bitcoin hasn't yet achieved its ultimate goal of becoming a means of exchange. Therefore, Bitcoin isn't yet considered a crypto that can be fully trusted. If NFTs disappear from Ethereum, Bitcoin could still be questioned because it hasn't yet achieved its ultimate goal. Although both have flaws, I'm sure many will still invest in these two coins; at least they are more trustworthy than newer coins entering the cryptocurrency market.

Bitcoin is the only real crypto currency it will never be a scam. All other cryptos currently exist in the market depending on Bitcoin, when Bitcoin falls then all crypto currencies fall hugely. We have seen many projects come in the cryptocurrency world but they never lasted long and are not reliable rather they have gone by fraud. But Ethereum can be trusted they have been in the market for a long time and it is reliable, however Bitcoin will never go away rather it will be there for a long time and it will become more in demand in the future.

When I first entered the forum, the ICO craze was going on like anything. Everyday some new coin was being launched and the project being promoted and talked about in the forum. They have long since been shut down and their owners exited with money with the projects being dumped and investors left hanging.

But bitcoin never has been about making profit for its owners. Hence it has existed and survived since its inception. So you can invest in other cryptos but I would always stick to bitcoin.

But the reason for this difference is that Bitcoin was created by Satoshi with the purpose of being a p2p currency, an alternative to the traditional system. Bitcoin was not created to be an investment, but we are the ones who turned it into one. Over time, altcoin project have mimicked Bitcoin narrative, and most of them were created for speculative purpose.

But there is also a huge difference in how they are built. Instead of completely copying the Bitcoin decentralized model. Most altcoin are created centrally, and their primary purpose is to scam and profit for their owner rather than to build something truly valuable for the community.

I understand your views, and really, it is difficult to argue. If you consider many thousands of new projects being launched every day, mainly most of them are either scam or they do not hold any value. Bitcoin is only one that has survived time and does not have any shadowy ulterior motives or central control.

Even with major ones like Ethereum, there is always some controversy and they are not 100% decentralized. For me Bitcoin is only true cryptocurrency because it has utility instead of any complex scheme. Some of the other cryptocurrencies are trying to achieve more than being store of value, but they can not live up to security and trust BTC has established. Point of correction: Bitcoin is not a cryptocurrency; Bitcoin is Bitcoin, and cryptocurrency can be referred to as coins that are not Bitcoin. It would have been better to say Bitcoin is the best digital currency.

There are so many cryptocurrencies that are not reliable but are shitcoins, and it would be unfair to refer to or classify Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies as the same. But most beginners don't understand this; that is why they diversify their investments and invest in shitcoins, thinking they are investing in good coins just like Bitcoin because they are being classified as the same.

I know there are some people who want to separate Bitcoin from crypto in general. Because the crypto market is rife with scandal and scam, this sometimes damages Bitcoin reputation.

If we talk about whether Bitcoin is a true crypto, in my view the answer is more directed (subjective) because we all have different views on Bitcoin and blockchain technology, For me, Bitcoin if seen from a philosophical perspective is "true crypto" because I see Bitcoin as having pure decentralization and I can consider it a unique digital currency.

In my other view, why do I choose Bitcoin as one of the unique cryptocurrencies, because of its scarcity, high security and can also be seen as having the highest decentralization compared to other types of crypto, where Bitcoin has no creator, cannot be controlled andso on.

Most of the thousands of cryptos have already failed and honestly except for 2-3% of cryptos including Bitcoin, all the rest will fail in the long term.
