This can be called "hidden charges," even though they will claim it is in the ToS. I felt the only charge was the usual $1 for every transaction and $3 for card transactions.
It's no longer a hidden charge if they have it fully explained in their TOS; they just know that some of us can be too lazy to read through an entire platform policy. It's just a way to tell you now that next time try to confirm and not just conclude based on how you feel. Even our banking systems have more than 3 types of charges; they are all the same.

This is something you won't need to bother about if it were in Bitcoin. With Bitcoin, just you and your client will do business without any third party knowing about it. Too sad, only a very few people are ready to make payments in Bitcoin.

This is correct, and you can fully be safe if you are receiving the payment from your client directly into your self-custody wallet and not still using some third-party payment processor to handle it, as missing policy over it could also cause other forms of danger or loss.

The payment processors have that tricky conditions and aside from the exchange rate that's how they earn money from their clients.
The $30 deduction fee is quite a lot to be honest even it won't be that much but for these transaction fees, it's considered a lot.
As long as there's an option for you to accept Bitcoin payments and your clients are willing to pay you that, better and solid.

This is why some third party payment platforms can really earn good money because it is stated in their ToS. And we all know that only few people read the terms of any site. That is why, when it is time to deduct such charges, they are often surprised by the move of the site. And for me, they are here for business so somehow they will get that from transaction fees or other steps that they think will serve as service charge for using their site.

They have to earn from their service and that's why if it's not a commission per transaction, it's a fee for using their service.
Well, they're a business and they're not there to simply help people but they mean business for that help.
And that's why for each penny that the business earns, they'd take a portion of it if ever transfers do happen.
Bitcoin transactions also has a fee but it's at minimal rate right now and it's been stable for how long now.

Before now, I used Payoneer to receive foreign payments. I stopped for a while when I found another means, but recently, I used it to receive some payments.
:://::: Too sad, only a very few people are ready to make payments in Bitcoin.

Wow, you've stirred up a long-buried memory. Anyone who used e-wallets in the first decade of the 21st century probably had Payoneer alongside Neteller, Payeer, and others. I might even still have their card somewhere... I closed that account ages ago Wink

It amazes me that PayPal is still considered an important payment method—important, I mean. I have no doubt it will be difficult for them to disappear, since many outdated businesses are still stuck in that mindset. And clearly, Payoneer is one of them—still very successful, which is surprising considering not only cryptocurrencies (whose advantages are hard to explain to some people), but also the fact that there are now even better products in the e-wallet space offering more benefits.

No one said accepting payment in bitcoin is not better of course there are people who are using bitcoin as thier method of payment, but the truth is that not everyone that will like to accept payment in bitcoin due its volatile nature because you can transact with a certain amount this minute before the next five or ten minutes you will be seeing a different value, for this reason I think accepting payment in bitcoin more especially as a business man or woman is not advisable unless you have enough reserve funds that you can use whenever you need money to get stuffs and then leave your bitcoin on hold in your portfolio.
You got a point here, accepting bitcoin is good but not for everyone especially for business. The volatility is real, you can receive payment now then few minutes later the value already drop, thats very risky if you need that money for expenses right away.

For me btc payment works better if you have extra funds (so you dont depend on it immediately or you plan to hold long term. Some businesses also solve this by converting btc to cash instantly, so they avoid price changes. Bitcoin is good payment option, but business owners need to manage the risk you dont just accept it blindly.

No doubt that your point is valid, and I agree with you here because I have also used Pioneer for accepting international payments, and I am familiar with this. Because they charge a fee from everyone, like these days, traditional banking systems charge a fee from their regular customers, so I don't like paying such a fee. The reason why I believe that they should not charge us because we are holding our earned money in their system.

And they used our money to invest it further to earn more, and in this way, they are getting more rich where our money is devaluing over time due to the increasing rate of inflation.  Well, what other means of payment have you found so far that you will use for the next time, rather than using a banking app or system? Well, this is my point of view. What do you think about this?

I think the more major banks raise their fees, the more reasons and demand there will be for creating alternative solutions. To be honest, I don’t really like banks right now. Since they’ve become an essential part of almost all financial operations, they’ve started to overreach, introducing excessive bureaucracy, asking for proof of the origin of funds, and imposing various fees for their services. It can be quite frustrating. That’s why I really hope and look forward to people using cryptocurrency more actively in everyday financial transactions.

You know, before one will consider accepting payment in bitcoin we also need to consider the volatility. It seems that some people don't regard this aspect while considering on accepting payment in bitcoin or maybe they already have enough reserve funds and/ or stable cash flow that is why they easily accept payment from bitcoin, although it's individuals choice to decide for themselve, whichever way to go. personally i can't accept payment in bitcoin especially when I know that it's the money I will be needing anytime soon unless I will convert it immediately after the payment is been make.

In any way, Bitcoin is much better compared to Payoneer, or any online payment, because Bitcoin won't charge hidden fees or anything that will burden the users. It actually gives freedom to users to be able to transfer and control their own assets. That's why right now Bitcoin is already widely used for remittances because not only is it much faster and secure, but it doesn't charge crazy fees like what is charged in those online payment services.

Yep, this inactivity fee is really frustrating, and honestly bro, this is standard practice across almost every traditional payment platform, but Payoneer charges a lot. Others charge for inactivity too, but Payoneer also charges if you do not cross $2k, which is really frustrating.

Your point about BTC is correct, but the adoption gap you identified is the real problem. It solves many of the issues of traditional fiat systems. The friction is not technical anymore, it is mostly psychological and habitual. Although, over time, many freelancers are starting to accept payments in BTC, due to trust issues, these influencers still use these platforms. We need a well-known escrow system for BTC payments. PayPal is better than Payoneer, but it puts limits whenever it wants.

I did some research and found that the restrictions had increased to $6,000, which is bad.
That's pure scam, they knew that their rules will only favour them, increasing it to $6,000, that's pure indication that their policy is scam policy, they're charging their clients for having zero funds in the account and also charging them for not depositing up to 2k in their account within 12 months, I haven't see such kind of policy before...

The time will come when making payments with Bitcoin will be easy for everyone.
Making payments with bitcoin is the easiest methods they can apply, but the problem is that some of the people are afraid of the fees that is involved...

Quote
I think that's what makes Bitcoin difficult to adopt; people tend to want what's easy. Apparently, they don't mind paying extra fees and risking their privacy. I suppose most are willing to pay that price.
Sometimes, what i consider most that makes people not to adopt bitcoin, should be  based on so many people thought that bitcoin is been used for scam.

If you want to use Bitcoin for daily transactions, you should not think about short term volatility.  Think about what other people are doing and expect that they will continue doing it.  Also remember that those people are looking for growth, not just to buy groceries today.  They see that Bitcoin has out performed all the other assets over any four-year window.  If you only view Bitcoin as a payment system and not as a investment, you are treating it like a broken version of the Dollar.

Thanks for telling us your experience. That leads me to decide not to install and register to that. We should always be cautious in our transactions online.

About Bitcoin, I hope that in every country, Bitcoin payment will be like any negotiable instrument.

What a crazy rule to rob you of $30 just because you didn't meet their requirement of receiving $2k within a year, blatant rip off right there.
No matter how miniscule the amount is, it's still your money regardless.

No wonder everybody is adopting crypto for remittance. As the wise man said, not your key not your coin.

Damn. At this point, it's just them finding excuses to get dormant money as theirs. What a rip off.

Payoneer?  Grin I hate that payment platform, I have always avoid them at all cost, even payee too, If you hold Bitcoin no one will task you for not spending, if your Bitcoin wallet is empty no one will task you not spending an amount in a month.

The bullshit that is happening in centralised platforms and businesses is what gave birth to Bitcoin, I don't expect anyone to still keep using those payment solutions over Bitpay and other crypto payment solutions online.

I am pretty sure that if there is a data on how many people are using Payoneer today compared to when Bitcoin was still a myth you will see that the numbers have greatly reduced, no one, not a single soul that I know says something good about Payoneer.

Is it that you were checking the account to know if it is still functional that made you decide to use it because an account that has not being in used within a year will definitely be charged for abandonment since it is not blocked, and how come  you did not know about this policy.or was is just made within a year .

Accepting  Bitcoin remains the best because it makes transactions faster and low fees charges, prevents chargeback fraud like what has happened to you, the transactions instantly received the the other party with high security which allows merchants to bypass banks.

Only for me to open the account today to see that they've taken $30 from the money I received. I checked and found out that they have a policy where an account that didn't receive up to $2k within 12 months would be charged $30.
It's not a big amount, but I had no idea about this because I never needed to pay that fee before. This can be called "hidden charges," even though they will claim it is in the ToS. I felt the only charge was the usual $1 for every transaction and $3 for card transactions.

Payoneer is a f*cking joke. Payoneer is even worse than Gaypal, woops I mean Paypal. Grin I still can't wrap my mind around why so many people still haven't left Payoneer for good. They have a Trustpilot score of 3.5 out of 5 from sixty two thousand reviews. Perhaps they are paying for fake reviews or something. I guess many people stick to what they are familiar with and are afraid of making any changes.
Bitcoin is way better than those fiat payment processors, but we have to be careful with the centralized crypto exchanges. Some of them might include some sketchy rules and hidden fees in their Terms of Service.

I do have the card for it still lol, it's in my drawer and back in the day maybe like 10 years ago, I would be using it, and I was getting paid with it, I do not think that I have used it once in the last 10 years, because bitcoin came up and I started using that.

And yes payoneer was at least more decent than paypal, you would get paid and there was no chargeback, but they were charging so much for it as well, I was consistently paying them money for "maintenance" and whatever else. It's really a bad version of money transfer digitally and globally, thankfully bitcoin started and I switched to it.

This is something you won't need to bother about if it were in Bitcoin. With Bitcoin, just you and your client will do business without any third party knowing about it. Too sad, only a very few people are ready to make payments in Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is very good when it comes to cross border payment and transactions. The transaction fee is very cheap both when you want to receive money, and when you want to send money, and this is the more reason why people prefer making transaction with bitcoin instead of using Payoneer, and other digital currencies.
There is no hidden charges while making Bitcoin transaction. I have used Payoneer, PayPal, perfect money, etc. These are all digital currencies, and among all Bitcoin remains the best, because it is just very good both in transaction speed and in transaction fees.

Many people already know how to make transfers using bitcoin and successfully use this option to bypass systems with high fees or strict regulations. Once people start noticing these high or hidden charges, they will quickly begin looking for more выгoдныe alternatives, especially for smaller transfers. Even those who previously didn’t think about alternatives may start switching to bitcoin simply because it’s more cost-effective and easy.
