Cake wallet not showing wallet balance

At first it was not synchronizing but later it showed the coin that I received on the history but the wallet balance is not shown.

This also happened to someone that I know but I told him to use another wallet to send the coin and he did that after he imported his seed phrase on another wallet, made the transaction and it was successful.

This time it happened to me. I noticed that the person and I left the wallet for weeks before using it again.




I think the last thing that I will do is to delete the wallet or clear the wallet storage on my device and import the seed phrase again.

I have not seen this before and I think I should let people know about it.

I've had such problems with Mycelium in the past, and in those cases it took a while for the balance to show. Maybe the server is lagging?

You should move (bottom-left) this to Wallet software.

It might be a network problem from your side or the wallet hasn't synchronized because after I saw this post, I immediately went straight to login into my cake wallet and everything is working fine. My balance is showing. Sometimes, I do experience what you are experiencing when my network is bad and the wallet hasn't synchronized.

 Check the top left corner of the wallet where lightning symbol is as look if you will see an orange dot. That dot shows that your wallet have fully been synchronized. Your balance should show if the orange dot is there. You can also update your wallet app to the latest version if you haven't.

It's not a big deal it's sometimes either a derivation path issue or a syncing problem. All the times I've faced this issue on cake wallet you just have to continue refreshing the wallet it will eventually display if it doesn't you can close the app and re open it probably a couple times it fixes itself.

Anytime I hear mycelium I get a stomach ache lol... It's literally the king of derivation path issues and that's a newbie killer. Nonetheless the only wallet I've never really had similar issues with is ELECTRUM.

I added the server when I wanted to know if Cake can pay sub 1 sat/vbtye fee but it was not able to. I have changed to 2 other servers and one other that has the name of cake wallet but all are not working. I decided to leave it on one of the servers and I restart the wallet and it showed the balance.

But I am confused because the node I added which was the last on the list was shown to be working:



If it is not working, it will be in red but it is also in green.

It's the only wallet I know that literally shows the derivation path on the screen with each address, so from all possible issues you could have, I don't see how this can be a problem.

I restart the wallet and it showed the balance.

When you manually added and selected the server "btc.reichster.de:50002", have you enabled "Use SSL" in its options?
Because that particular server and port 50002 use SSL.

Because I tried to reproduce it and the wallet seems connected and the server is green (since the domain is reachable),
But it periodically shows 'Offline' in the home screen if that option is disabled, that could cause the sync issue that you've experienced.

The first thing one should remember in such a situation is not to panic. If you know how much bitcoin you have in your wallet and its funded address(es), look it up on a block explorer. If your coins are still there, then you have another reason not to panic. You haven't been hacked and no one has stolen your coins. A bug or synchronization issue is probably the cause. If you don't need to make a transaction using those coins and you are just checking the balance for the sake of checking, leave the wallet alone. Restart it or come back to it later to see if it's been fixed. You can also visit the official website or a social media channel to see if the developers posted something about an ongoing server problem. If the issue keeps happening regularly without a fix in sight, it might be worth looking for a better wallet.
