Hey guys,

we are just in discussions to form a German team and I think we will get one formed.

So far, how many teams are there? And as is said in OP, one participant has to submit 5 BSFL style questions per week, right? I think that is easily doable. And the goalscorer picks are made based on all teams that are still in the tournament? So during group stages, goalscorer are picket from 48 teams?

We have 7 registered teams, 5 paid the fee already. There are at least 5 more being prepared/discussed as we speak. That info is in the 3rd post of the thread.
Initial plan is 16 teams, in case of huge interest we can probably create a hybrid format with 24. Nothing in between will be considered, so either 16 or 24.

There are 3 'mini games' per round. 1 member of the team submits 5 answers, the other goalscorers, the 3rd one betslip.
Everything follows WC schedule so yes - it will be per round. Goalscorer picks will be modified slightly for later rounds.

I see the first post was updated quite a while ago, so I'd like to check if anyone else is looking for a player (I'm referring to myself).
My preference: it's preferable to know the people I'll be teaming with (pool members, I think I know all of them). Preferred communication: Forum/Telegram. I can participate in any of the three disciplines (I need to check the Rainbet deposit, but it seems there will be no problems with this). As for the team name/region, I have no preference, I’m even ready to play for the Himalayan elephants

3rd Place Teams play against each other in the Round of 32. Winners go directly to quarterfinals, losers play in the Round of 16." confuses me very much.
How many teams do we have then in our own World Cup when we reach the real life quarterfinals?

"1st and 2nd place going directly to QFs" suggests there are only 2 groups (as this will fill our 4 of the 8 QF spots).

But if we're confirmed to be playing the format of 16 teams divided into 4 groups of 4 teams (as in OP) then we'll already have 8 teams in the QF (two each, 1st and 2nd, from the 4 groups).

Just write a broad region where you live or where you were born. The idea is to connect members in that way initially.

The most honest answer is that we do not know yet
It will depend on the number of teams applied.

What we do know is that we'll do all we can that all (or a huge part of the) teams proceed from the group stage with different seeding, and that the top ones will miss a round or 2 to accomodate this, and to give them an edge.

The idea is that you make some friends/acquaintances while playing. We hope to group people from the same area, to geographically represent different parts of the world.
So, if you're from Russia you can play as Russia, Ural, Caspian region, whatever - with people that live close to you.

You can join Nordics as well, would just look silly if you join Brazil or South Africa - that's what we hope to avoid.

No KYC of course, this is for fun and banter. You can also lie where you're from, but the general idea is that you discuss with people that are in your timezones and have similar preferences.

'Potential teams' are those that aren't confirmed yet - so consdering that Nordics team isn't assembled yet you can ask Slissy/Hhampuz in what status that team is and if you can join.
Solo participation is not possible - the whole idea is that you play as a team but that you depend on other people's answers as well. You can freely discuss your options as a team on forum/Telegram/whatever.

It seems like we are gonna have some teams made by a mixture of regions or like in the olympics game where the sportsman who doesnt want to have the flag of their nations or the nation is banned the olympic comitee gives them a group or name them olimpics team.

I applied the rules to 4 groups and 16 teams and that was the reason why I thought the 1st and 2nd placed teams who lose their initial match would get a 2nd chance.
But yes, my weird assumption didn't make much sense either.

This would have been a deal breaker if 6 teams advanced to the semifinals.

Yeah I like that everyone proceeds to at least one stage after group. Gives all entrants a chance to participate a little longer. Looking good, Cro2.

P.S. We already know you'll do all you can (and even what you cannot) for those who bribe you the most. And you'll still drop out early, and all your cronies will fall alongside. If there is justice, this is how it will play out.

It will almost certainly be a classic football format from QF onwards. We'll try to implement it as soon as possible but anything earlier than QF is a bit optimistic.
No rush to announce it yet, but the general idea is known - most (if not all) to progress from the group stages, some advantage given to better placed teams.

Sorry about that, but to be clear, Zaguru12 application was already in my PM for almost like two weeks even before I learned of your application, but I and Harkorede decided to stall external applications because we had two Nigerians in the FPL pool, who are always playing in the BSFL pool, and we were hoping one of them could join us - we wanted who was already part of the cult, but sadly both of them declined, which forced me to return to Zaguru12 application because the Cro2 wouldn't let me rest.

No, Koal-84 is Austrian, cygan is from Poland originally and I am German. I didn't want to take Europe, so I reverted to Central European because that is probably the only term that covers our nationalities. DACH doesn't work because it covers Switzerland, Austria and Germany, but Poland isn't part of it and nobody comes from the DACH region in our team. That is why I thought "Central" could do the job. There isn't really anything more specific than that. Germany - Austria - Poland. That's difficult to get under the same hat.
