In the end the slots will be filled and there won't be any left, maybe some other people are still discussing or looking for their neighboring countries, until now there is still time until closing.

I myself can't wait to play a role here, because this is one pool that has its own tasks, let alone a captain.

I woukd dare to assume that us (the Croats) are the most represented nation here, but also in BSFL. Of course, it's hard to know where are you all from, but I think that we have around 10 players in the BSFL and at least two teams (one real and one in disguise).

10 is a lot, and I don't think any other country has more than that. I believe Nigeria has the second highest numbers in the BSFL ( I may be wrong though) ; I can already count about 6 in my head without even looking. A good portion of them choose to stay low-key, which is not a problem.

This World Cup isn't generating the buzz I expected, and what is the situation with Iran National team? Everything seems weird now that the US is hosting it.

I know how famous he was and remember the World Cup with other big names like Boban, Romario, Stoichkov and so on.

You all have to remember that WC in USA was agreed long time ago. At that time it wasn't Trump administration, there wasn't this much political instability and there wasn't ICE scaring Mexicans who would like to attend.

FIFA was always about reaching as much people as possible, and I don't mean this in noble way, it is just about money. In Europe, South America and Africa their job is done, time to conquer Asia and USA. Biggest markets where football isn't no.1.

It was at the end of his career and at that point, he simply wasn't good enough for Bayern. Even though he is one of our best players ever, he is generally disliked in Croatia as he is a known douche and a (not so)petty thief.

Yeah you are probably mixing 94 and 98 WC as Romario wasn't in France, while we weren't in the USA because we weren't FIFA members yet, by the time qualifications started.

FIFA President followed the money, sooner or later they'd start selling out tickets on discounts since most qualified teams from Africa and Asia are on the US visa ban anyways. It was a stupid idea to let the US host a WC under Trump administration now that he's at war with everyone.

The last CWC had already shown us what to expect; empty stadiums, delayed fixtures, thunderstorms, 2 hrs break in-between games for bad weather...... More.

I'd be stupid of Iran to risk the lives of their citizens for something they won't even qualify from the group stage.

The next WC is in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. I think that this one will be a blast. It will be played in countries that live and breathe football, and the one after that in Saudi Arabia will be a let down. However, I still think that the biggest disappointment will be this current one. The prices of tickets, the political situation, Trump's annoying face, and surely the public stunts that will happen in large numbers during this WC will all be the downfall of this World Cup. Not to mention, the thing that annoys me most is having 48 teams in total.

The same could be asked about the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and the 2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
FIFA obviously wants to make as much money as possible from these competitions (their "golden chickens"), and it is known who has the most money in today's world, and who wants to improve their public image through sports, you are not always the best, right?
Just look at the current ticket prices for World Cup matches in America and everything will be clear to you.
This is no longer a sport for ordinary fans.
