WoW that flag remains me so much to my era playing the Total War saga, what a game i expect anyone had played it, is by far one of the best strategy games i ever played, with the newest one i dont feel the same but with Rome Total War, and his expansion... damn majestic game. I think it was the barbarian expansion where we have the eastern and western roman empire.

I have no idea why did FIFA granted USA to host the World cup. I know that money is probably the main reason, but they (USA) even don't know the correct name of the sport (it's soccer in the USA and football in the rest of the world). But as for the Iran, USA was selected as the host long before the war started.

I can't believe that we have come this close to the start of the World cup. It's such a shame that I won't be able to watch all the games because of the time difference.

It's all aboutthe money. I just remind that almost all recent World Cups were awarded through bribery - South Africa, Qatar, Russia, even Germany. But when it comes to atmosphere, I don't think it will be much worse than what we had in Qatar.

The next WC is in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco. I think that this one will be a blast. It will be played in countries that live and breathe football, and the one after that in Saudi Arabia will be a let down. However, I still think that the biggest disappointment will be this current one. The prices of tickets, the political situation, Trump's annoying face, and surely the public stunts that will happen in large numbers during this WC will all be the downfall of this World Cup. Not to mention, the thing that annoys me most is having 48 teams in total.

Yeah, these countries sounds like a best place to make major tournaments. Love for football, great infrastructure and it's cheaper and easier to reach than USA or Qatar.

A few more days to go - Slissy has gone AWOL but once their team with LTU_btc is confirmed we'll start matching the remaining people into teams.

Sorry for delay from our side, I hope that we will set up things ASAP, but not everything depends on me.

The World Cup starts on Thursday 7PM GMT, so the deadline will probably be Thursday 5PM GMT.

I think it is good choice to tag everyone involved, not just the captains, in order to keep everyone updated. I don't doubt that there will be a lot of discussion as the games that we'll play look pretty interesting.

It's greed mostly. I'm sure proper footballing countries will be able to grease some palms to host the world cup, but they insist on going with places that are not traditional football homes and worst bending the football to fit those places. No football fan wants to watch a half-time show over halftime analysis of the first half. Ticket prices going through the roof, too many matches; it will be a miracle if we get a good atmosphere for most of the games.

I agree football belongs to the world, but any host should appreciate football as it is.

I'm also inspired and can't wait for this competition to start.
Now at least I will have more reasons and motivation to follow some of the "less interesting and important" matches from this world cup, especially in the group stage when there are often boring and uninteresting matches. 
However, this time the format of the competition at the world cup is different, so practically everyone has a chance to get through the group.
Of course, the generous cash prizes in this competition are an additional incentive to play.
I wonder who will surprise at this World Cup, like Morocco did at the last World Cup? I think there will be a lot of uncertain matches and surprises, like at every World Cup.

Not yet, but there will be.
2 spots are taken, it's Nordics (waiting to see where Slissy is) and Imperium Romanum (they are in, just need to submit paperwork).

3rd team is on standby, if nothing else we will pair Ochan_yazo_tochant and Strongkored and we'll find them another player.
This means that we are probably just a team short - and we hope to fill it until tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure some of them are preparing their names and logos as some familiar faces have yet to sign up, chances are before the deadline all the slots will be filled.

We were also a bit surprised. We didn't account that some members would actually have problems with the team component. I don't know if it is social anxiety or what but the same idea that makes it super fun for most of that signed up makes it problematic for others.
