I hate to brag but the brilliance of Southeast Archipelago really needs to be stated. Obviously, Central Europe didn't even dare show up to the betting contest, but we gave them the biggest chances by going against the favourites in the questionnaire,

I know that there were cooling breaks before. But that was when games were being played in much hotter environments. The first game was in Mexico, at the altitude of 2200 meters above sea level. People were sitting in jackets and players had cooling breaks. I know that it's made like that so that all teams have the same conditions. But football matches are divided in four quarters by it no matter if the time is stopped or not.

I'm all for taking measures like these in serious life-threatening conditions too but mandatory hydration/infantino ad breaks are horrible, horrible.

In general this World Cup has been quite bad with time-keeping. Can't remember which match it was I thought I had the wrong channel; was three minutes in and still showing ads. Turns out kickoff was delayed.

Halves, not quarters, you idiots. I like that they're implementing time-wasting punishments (seeing Caicedo forced to wait outside the pitch for his fake injury will teach teams lessons) but I feel like these mandatory interruptions are threatening football's flow. That precious, precious flow of football is what made us all watch it in the first place, does FIFA get that?

I also hate it it kills rhytm of the game, but somehow I'm surprised that it took them so long to introduce it.  Consider how everything around us is commercialm 45 minutes without any commercial break looks like missed opportunity.

Yeah, it's looking good; things aren't going too badly, and Spain hasn't scored a single goal. Unfortunately, we gave up that penalty, but we have to make the best of it and just wait and see. But it's been a very weak performance by Spain, luckily for us.

What I don't like are the ads that stretch out the hydration breaks. It makes it look like it's less about the weather and more about revenue.

Of course its all about the revenue. Tbh, that might be one of the reasons why football is not so popular in US, as you don't have some sort of break every minute or two, that can be used for a commercial.

This World Cup is really so hard to predict never in a thousand years I believe Curacao can score against Germany but they did.

I have a feeling that Curacao goal will probably decide the winner of this match. But that's how it goes in these type of contest, often one little detail decides the winner.

It is just for revenue, they just happen to have a really good excuse with many parts of the US being extremely hot. That's probably why they named it a hydration break and not a cooling break as it's normally called. I just hope all of these are left in the host nations when football returns to the remaining parts of the world.

I'm not sure which rule is more stupid - hydration break without stopping the time or expanding the World cup to teams that can be happy if they score a goal in the whole tournament.

We've had cooling breaks in some recent tournaments played in hotter regions and time wasn't stopped. Stopping the time in a football match will just be officially breaking the game into 4 quarters like they have in NBA and some other sports, that should never be a part of football. It is very obvious that it was all about the ads that will be shown that is the actual reason for the hydration breaks. I can remember the last World Cup was played at a more later date because of the weather condition of Qatar. It was understandable and everything went well. In other cooling breaks we’ve witnessed in football, we get to see the players off the pitch to take the cooling breaks and get back on the field to continue the game but this time around, they even get back and start the game before we see the view back. Spain and Oyarzabal were such a pain in the butt today, Spain singlehandedly ruined at least 10 bet slips of my mine, a lot of which were long term parlays and If only Oyarzabal had scored today too, it would have been a really good trend in the right direction for my team, now we need all our remaining 3 goalscorer picks to find the back of the net to win or 2/3 to earn a draw, a tough situation to be in.

If Curacao had held the zero a bit longer I'm sure he would have been an option to replace one of the midfielders but nobody could have foreseen how bad Curacao really is
I was also surprised that Nagelsmann gave Havertz the full 90 minutes.

Yes, unfortunately this gamble did not pay off for us.
I really expected that there would be a lot of goals in this match between Germany and Curacao and I chose Woltemade because he was the best German scorer in the qualifiers for this World Cup, but unfortunately he didn't enter the game.
I didn't expect such a decision by the German coach, but it's fine, let's move on.
Next time I'll probably choose another German striker.
