Nope, when you are submitting any part of the form, you get asked if you are the captain. Answering yes opens up penalties, answering no, just submits. Or something like that, didn't actually tried it since we are free this round. Feel free to give us some feedback on this and if you liked this solution.
Yup, exactly. Should be straightforward, everybody submitted successfully so we'll keep it going forward as well. __________________________________ You can check your matchups in the spreadsheet. In future rounds goalscorers will probably have a captain requirement which will bring double goals - often it comes down to 1 name. Still not sure whether we think that's good or bad, so any feedback on the matter is appreciated. The same situation made us add an extra question - but maybe the goalscorers are fine to stay as they are. We'll be thinking it over a bit.

Yeah, I've been meaning to ask why does we have four questions (an even number), but forgot to ask. It's much easier to end up with a draw when there are even number of questions. I think that adding the 5th question was a good idea. As for the goal scorers, I'm not sure what do you mean when you say that in the future goalscorers will have a captain requirement. I don't have anything against how the goalscorers part is now. True, it often comes down to one or two different players, but that's OK I guess. EDIT: If the game gets to the penalty shotout, does a player that scores a goal count as a goalscorer? For example, we have Vinicius as a goalscorer. If Brasil-Japan gets to penalties and Vinicius scores, does it count as a goalscorer?

got it and of course we discussed everything together and submitted our tasks on time! we already played against our opponent, southeast archipelago, in the group stage and even managed to win despite a penalty (failure to submit the betting slip)... this time, we've submitted all three tasks and are ready for the showdown It wont be easy this time, we are back for revenge and we will be taking the first advantage. Now I just need all 3 favourites to win their game to secure a point for us in the questionaire Atleast let me get a point on the questionaire though, I've been letting down my team on the group stage and I feel bad for it, let me make it up this time Brobbey not to score against Morocco, that would even out the goalscorer for us

Last tag to team captains whose teams have missing submissions.
Our guy just submitted his and we have a nice happy round now. As expected, our opponent has higher odds than us in the betting slip. mv1986 I see you've gone the route of qualifying -- our team liked my conviction in Mexico instead, so it seems we are in agreement on France to win, I actually have a small feeling about Japan so I picked Brazil to win only the throwin affairs. Ended up with slightly better odds than a straight Brazil ML so very nice. cygan meanwhile only has Brobbey as the difference with our Vini, who couldn't score, so not very nice. Our penalties meanwhile, are down to the minute of the first card in COL-GHA. We just need to survive the first half! Good luck, CEA!

We wanted it to be close, so actually preferred the high chance of a draw. So, if you have 2 different answers and it's a draw, that's what we wanted. What we didn't want is for teams to have 4 same answers - and that happened a few times in the groups. If implemented, you'd submit scorers like this: Mbappe (c), Kane, Vinicius.. - and whatever your captain scores doubles. The main reason for this is that it gives another differential - because it's Kane, Messi, Mbappe for you all. This way, you still have to pick one of them for extra points - again, decreasing the chance for almost the same answers. EDIT: If the game gets to the penalty shotout, does a player that scores a goal count as a goalscorer? For example, we have Vinicius as a goalscorer. If Brasil-Japan gets to penalties and Vinicius scores, does it count as a goalscorer?
Penalty shootout goals will not count, overtime goals will. I'm 99% that it's defined somewhere - but can't search for it now. Will be added to the forms in future instances.

What do you guys think about Japan? The way they play football is incredible. I haven't seen a team fight like that in a long time. They made Brazil look like a completely average side with no real answers. But that's football... one mistake and you're punished. Brazil was still my favorite to win, but after watching Japan, I have to say they're such a disciplined team. They play as one unit and everyone works for each other.I'd also add that Endrick's introduction completely changed the pace of the game in Brazil's favor. He brought fresh energy, and i honestly wouldn't mind seeing Ancelotti start him from the first minute. @Rikafip What do you think about South Africa? Looks like we were wrong when we said it would be an easy job for Canada haha . They really had to work for that win, and they were very close to taking it into extra time

Well good luck to everyone who has to play in this first knockouts, we wait for the winners in the QF.
Your team South America played great so far, and I am happy to see you being placed above little Italian boobies team, but watch out in next stage for their manipulations One of your team members el_che is currently best goal scorer with three points, but he is sharing it with two other players.

In the second half, they focused too much on defense and that way you can't play against Brazil, they have too much quality not to score a goal from constant attacks. Japan has never won in the knockout stage and it's obvious why, they obviously can't overcome the "small team" mentality. However, Brazil disappointed and I don't see them as favorites to win this world championship. In fact, many big teams and so-called "paper favorites" like Germany, the Netherlands, England, Portugal... disappointed at this World Cup. Luckily, Brazil beat Japan so they didn't ruin the betting slip for our team lol

You got the goal, a very nice one, why not keep adding? Then again it worked for Paraguay and Morocco to knockout 2 elite European teams so maybe Japan actually has to stop thinking like they're a small team and play like a favorite.

However, Brazil disappointed and I don't see them as favorites to win this world championship. In fact, many big teams and so-called "paper favorites" like Germany, the Netherlands, England, Portugal... disappointed at this World Cup. Luckily, Brazil beat Japan so they didn't ruin the betting slip for our team lol I am not even going to be seeing any big team as favourite to win the World Cup as it stands now. They keep disappointing and this smaller/average teams are coming behind to kick them out of the competition. Like in the Japan match, they were defending too much again Brazil, which means they were only after going into the penalties, maybe their goalkeeper will help them scale through that means to the round of 16. Netherlands and Germany are also out of the competition. I was doubtful of Netherlands winning Morocco in full time but that of Germany, they really messed up. Even when their goalkeeper kept their hope alive and put them back into the game during the penalty shoot out, they still missed a vital kick and got kick out. I won’t say Paraguay was lucky, but would say they did well to hold Germany up for full 90mins and later prevailed in penalty shootout. In all of this, it only makes this competition tougher and the teams involved will only hope and pray their picks go even in their favour when the teams involved are playing their game. We would imagine Germany will be out so soon…oh no, this World Cup is really different and hard to predict.

@cryptofrka and @Trofo,
there is a hypothetical situation where we will have a draw, have all penalties questions equal except for the minute of the first yellow card in the game Colombia - Ghana. We picked 22' and the opponent picked 69'. Now I guess it is clear, but I ask anyway: if the yellow card is awarded in the first half in extra time, say after 45+3', that still counts as 45', doesn't it? Or would 45+3' count as 48? I thought that would collude since there can't be two yellows and different times within the same minute assuming there would be a yellow in the 2nd half at 48'.
Since this is so damn close this time with all the answers, I thought I'd ask. Still depends on their betslip failing, but since that is not impossible, the above described scenario could come into action.

I was thinking that Morocco will be eliminated by Netherlands but the reverse was the case. Netherlands was eliminated by Morocco after a penalty shootout. With the way some of this smaller teams are striving in this world cup tournament, predict the world cup is not that easy the unexpected may end up happening at the end of the world cup. The unexpected team may end up winning this world cup championship final.

Yeah, saw it 45+3 is 45, so the case is: 69-22 = 47, divided by 2 = 23,5 Therefore your prediction wins if it's in the 1st half or in the first 30 seconds of the next half - and they win if it's later than that (69-23,5). Hope this clarifies it fully, if not - ask away

Worst of all, they keep doing it all the time, just stopping when they have good result, instead kept going for more. I read somewhere that Japan never won knockout World Cup game, and one would think that they would change something as this approach obviously doesn't work. At this point, i honestly have no idea who can win it. Every team has its own strengths, and anyone can beat anyone

You know you know, gotta clarify this shit BEFORE it happens But no worries, I know my luck, yellow card will be awarded in the second half of the 46th minute of the second half, mark my words!

I don't see anyone except France and Argentina in the finals. Yesterday, no one expected any other pairing in the next round than Germany vs. France. Now at least Germany is absent. I agree that France and Argentina have the easiest path to the semi-finals, but after that nothing is guaranteed. Although even here there are rivals that you can trip over. A bus that beats you on penalties has always been a nightmare for the favorites. Personally, I think that right now 12 teams have a real chance of winning the title (yes, that's an incredibly reliable choice haha).
