I am going to be realistic based on what I've observed myself, it's very unfortunate really but I do not think the coming world cup has any ability of chances of easing, not to talk of ending the current war between Iran and the US including Israel, with statements from the president of the US in the person of Donald Trump, you will understand that he doesn't have any plan of using the coming world cup as a reason to end the war, he multiple times have warned the Iran national football team not enter the US.

So it's really sad that we are in this state today, in a moment when the whole countries of the world that have qualified for the world cup tournament should be coming together as one, loving and celebrating one another, what we are seeing presently is war and division, but I pray and hope this does not last.

I think the war supposed to have escalated to world war 3 already, but country like China has tried to prevent that from happening.

International friendly relations like the world cup can help but there are still war ongoing in some regions all over the world just like in the past.

Sport certainly brings people together and helps to increase cultural understanding between different countries but the current global conflicts are so complex that it is difficult to expect a tournament to reduce their impact and It can be a positive opportunity where people can forget their divisions for a while and connect with the same feelings but the solutions to the core problems must be sought politically.

I don't think though that it will escalate in a full pledge ww3, world leaders doesn't want that to happen again. So for sure, one way or another this will have to stop. As for the world cup, it should still happen. And I do agree that sports could be one reason why the war is going to stop. In sports everyone is free to play and represent their country. So there is pride and friendship involved and the war should be forgotten and step aside.

Football is a game that brings people from different parts of the world together but not a way to come into agreement of ending the war. Footballers are not the ones escalating the war or fighting the war but the government. The world cup wouldn't end the war and it's possible that Iran might not participate in the world cup. Iran don't want to play their matches on US soil.

I have also had this thought because the US that is actively in the war is part of the host nations and Iran on the other part also qualified for the world cup, this makes it a little complicated. It is even worrisome that the US is bent on seizing any Iranian asset they see anywhere in the world, if so how will Iranian players feel comfortable visiting North America for the world cup? I read somewhere that Iran has proposed that America be removed from the host and all matches shifted to Mexico but I don't know how FIFA treated the matter and I doubt that Mexico is prepared to do that. I think that even FIFA should be confused at this time.

Really if the US tried this shit as a host country they should be stripped by FIFA of their host status and let other northern American countries host the matches. It'll be unacceptable for FIFA as an institution to allow this kind of shit.

Rather there should take a position and act as something other than a bribe fest for once.

We all pray and hope the war in the Middle East doesn't escalate to WW3 because we all will be busy thinking about life and the safety of our family and countrypeople instead of thinking of gambling and sport. Sport, in some cases, can only come into play when the war is already ending, maybe used as a means for promoting peace. Wars are very aggressive; it should not even be put into consideration if sport can make it pause when it starts.

I don't think the wars that on going will affect the World Cup because there were wars when the previous World Cup kick off and finished without any issue. Even the War between Israel, America and Iran will not affect the World Cup because FIFA knows how to do it. And they have already map out of modality to deal with Iran participation. So everything will go well for all the participating countries.

I'd like to believe that football can somehow stop all this and that wars will become fewer after all, sport unites people. But as recent events show, politicians' statements are very polarized: one day they say everything will soon be over, and the next day they exchange missile strikes.The world is very unbalanced and it clearly needs a break before people do something stupid again.

Negotiations are ongoing on what step to take since the US dont want to see Iran participate in the World Cup. There is no information yet, because so far FIFA has been silent. But what I think is, the war will subside, at least until the World Cup tournament is over. I also expect a peace talk between the US, Israel, and Iran. Because it is unfair if Iran does not participate in a competition they fought so hard to be in. I wouldn't want that to happen. My suggestion was that, Iran and US should play the matches in other regions far from each other to avoid any clash.

The past is really different from this present time and it's even by far different from what is yet to come, perhaps this world Cup might just  give an opportunity to the war to calm down a bit (or might not even do so). This war can just end by a peaceful negotiated settlement but unfortunately that's not working, so it's not even the world Cup that will make it to stop.
