Is crypto created to help the poor ?
Yes, it is.

I think that view sounds a bit too idealistic. Crypto can certainly create opportunities for ordinary people, especially in countries with weak banking systems, high inflation, or capital controls. In that sense, it can sometimes help the poor more than traditional finance does.

But at the same time, the crypto market is not some naturally fair or charitable system. In practice, a huge percentage of profits still goes to early adopters, insiders, exchanges, influencers, whales, and project founders. Many newcomers arrive late, buy during hype, and end up becoming exit liquidity for more experienced players.

Also, “free distribution” sounds good in theory, but most people never hear about projects early enough to benefit meaningfully from that stage. Usually by the time the public notices a coin, the easiest gains are already gone.

And secrecy cuts both ways too. Financial privacy can protect freedom, yes. But the same anonymity also attracts scams, market manipulation, hacks, money laundering, and rug pulls. The technology itself is neutral. It depends on who uses it and for what purpose.

So I wouldn’t call crypto democratic, communist, or Christian by nature. It’s more like a powerful financial tool. It can help poor people, but it can also exploit them very efficiently when greed, misinformation, and speculation take over.

Almost every tool (I know only one exception here) can be used against my interests if I do not want to use it in the proper way. Crypto is not the exception here.

What I want to say is that crypto is a good tool against poverty for those who really want to use it in the best possible way.

In Estonia there is a proverb : "Kes saab santi sundida, kui sant ei taha kõndida" (in English: "it is not possible to make a beggar rich if he does not want it")  Smiley
