A casino can't be in full operative when it has not be registered. The registration is for you to exist but the license is the permission to operate, many casinos operate without license and that is illegal casino in the law. As goldkingcoiner said, the country the license was issued is also very important.
Don't say that… There are a lot of casinos which are not registered that are out there and are operating; you won't know unless you are part of their customer base and see the need to check and verify. Registration is not just about launching the casino, but it also has to do with bodies which they are actually registered with, which you can contact if anything. It should be the casino should not be fully operational if they are not registered and have a license, and yet some bypass the registration and go on full operation, making them illegal. Registration and license should go hand in hand because one cannot have a license if one is not a registered entity. After all, company registration is one of the requirements in acquiring a license, and the license is the go signal for any company to be fully operational. I agree that some of us don't care whether the casino is fully licensed, as long as the casino is delivering what they had promised, but I agree that these casinos are illegally operating thus it has more risk in playing on this kind of casino since most casinos that have no license tend to run away with their players deposited money.

Most gamblers don't even read the TOS. I also don't read the TOS of many casino sites, and I don't care whether a site has a license, because even when I see very positive user reviews that look trustworthy, many things aren't verified. Everyone wants to gamble on non-KYC casino sites because they are very aware of their privacy. As far as I know, KYC documents must be submitted on the licensed casino site. I think this is the only disadvantage of a licensed casino site. I have seen some casino sites that claim to be licensed companies, and many of those sites provide license documents on their websites to verify their licenses. Some casino sites claim they have a license, but in reality, they do not.

After reading the posts of other members, it seems like there's a consensus that Company registration ≠ gambling license And even if you have a gambling license, I think there are different types of licenses, like how much a casino is licensed for, and they have levels that deal with accountability. Whether it's about proof-of-reserves or the segregation of players' funds. The important thing, IMO, is that they have protection for the players, even if they are hacked or something. It can be resolved.

And that is where those casinos are scamming gamblers. If any casino bypassing the due process before launching their casinos in the Marketing Place is illegal. And as the Op said, some gamblers thought the two are one and it is good to verify if the casino has license before coming to the market place to operate.

To me I think there should be a way of verifying if a casino is licensed, and even though there is a license number there should be a place to confirm it before totally given it a try and this should be verifiable by anyone who is gambling to know whether the site is that accessible. I have also understood that most casinos do not have operating licenses and yet they claimed they are licensed where their ToS do back them up and whenever they had any cases they wouldn’t mind adjusting their tos to suit them.
There is a way to verify if a casino is licensed using the licensed ID, but many casinos do not have a license ID displayed in their platform. This is what some gamblers are actually asking for. Also, licensing does not seem to be a good way to know if a casino is reputable or not. At first instance, it builds trust in the casino later on, you will have to do your own research on the casino.

Most users do not read the terms of service and do not conduct the necessary research on whether the casino is licensed or not.
The reason is probably that since most users prefer casinos that do not require KYC and maintain some privacy, they do not pay much attention to whether the license exists or is legal and in which country, because legal licenses often require KYC.
How do you know though? But it could be because you are like that too . TOS is important, so it may only be a myth that many or all are ignoring it the first time they visit a site. For me, I am not new in the field, so even if let say I won't check the TOS, I can easily tell if a casino is licensed or not by simply looking at it. There are also indications about it like when I scroll on the bottom of their page because usually a licensed logo is displayed there. Another indication is like you said there that a licensed casino usually has a KYC system. Some may want more privacy but still, it is not an excuse to ignore the TOS. Licensed casino still had a couple of benefits that may outshine its disadvantage, like in a licensed casino, there is no need to wager your deposited money, the bonus offer are great and sometimes offer less to no wagering at all, not to mention that I can feel extra confident here in terms of security and fairness of the games.

You can actually check if a casino is licensed or not. Since I already understand how all these things work, I can easily tell if a casino is licensed or not. Here is the first red flag, every licenced casino usually have its licensed numbers and the regulatory authority that issued it written on its home page, if a casino licensed number and the regulatory authority that issued it is not written on its home page then, the casino is not licensed. But if it happens that the casino licensed number and the regulatory authority that issued it is written on its home page, then you can proceed to the website of the regulatory authority that issued it, there is a column to input the casino license number, and if it happens that the regulatory authority didn't list the casino, as one of the casino they license the casino scam.

I don't usually pay much attention to licensing, but after some thought, it's quite important. Licensed casinos likely have a better chance of gaining user trust, are more secure, and may even offer protection in the event of a cyberattack. Unfortunately, very few licensed casino sites, or even those that don't want to display their licenses, may only be able to see them.

To be honest, Licensed or unregulated, it doesn't matter as long as they are doing what they are supposed to do. I remember in the early days people from the forum didn't care about the license and most of the big casinos didn't have any still they attracted good business because the business was running entirely based on the reputation.
In the year 2020, everything changed, the users are giving preference to the licensed casinos so every casino wanted to have some license even if is not really from a reputable one, they just want one.

Registration number is not enough for me. I want to be able to check better the casino I am going to deposit my money on is actually registered and licensed in some justification and under the rule of a trustworthy authority and license issuer. There are some subtle advantages when comes to using licensed casinos instead of blindly trusting Terms of Service, it means the casino itself is supposed to comply with law and the rules enforced by the issuer of the license, that is something one won't get if the casino is not actually licensed, but rather just keeling facade of legitimacy to keep gamblers coming and depositing their money on it.
Just my personal thoughts, I know there are people who gamble on unregistered casinos for the sake of anonymity and they are okey with it.

Some casinos mention “registered under ___” in their TOS, and many users already think that means they are licensed.
But company registration is not always the same as a gambling license.
If a casino claims to be licensed, I think they should show the license number and the actual license provider. Then users should verify it directly from the regulator’s website, not just trust what the casino wrote.
For me, TOS is not enough. The license should be checkable.
Do you verify the license number, or is the TOS enough for you?
Personally, I've never bothered about looking through, finding and trying to verify the license number of any casino, and this is because I don't play or gamble on just any casino, I like to go for casinos that are already well established and have built a good reputation already in the gambling community. Casinos like this no longer require the gambler looking their registration and licence number to trust the casino because the casino already have lots of users who are always writing reviews about the casino, and when it come to the issue of trust, a users review carries more weight than any licence because in the world we live in today, any casino can be genuinely registered and licensed but still end up closing down and the operators of the site running away with funds belonging to the users..

Both are nice to have for a standard casino to be trusted by many gamblers. But whether they're registered or licensed, that only means that they're complying to the rules as standard procedure of wherever they are located. As the licensing part, I think many won't think of it that much for as long as they're registered and they're paying their users whenever a withdrawal request is sent to them, that's all that matters for the majority. For the other gamblers, this is a big deal and a game changer for their decision of whether they'll gamble to them or not.

I didn't pay much attention to whether it is registered and whether it has a license number, but of course, as you said, we should check whether there is a license number and registration, because when a casino platform is registered and has a license number, it is safer for us to gamble. In fact, I always look at the most popular and best casino platforms, because the most popular and best casinos here always seem more trustworthy to me, such as Rainbet, Stake.com and other notable casino platforms because such casino platforms are the ones we really trust the most and don't check whether there is a registration and license number.

To be honest, I don't usually check this as soon as I see a casino. First, I focus on researching whether or not the casino has scam accusations, and only after confirming that the casino has no scam accusations do I look at the Terms of Service and only after that do I look at things like licensing. Because having or not having a license means that if a casino wants to steal people's money, it will do so, and the licensing provider won't do anything, even if people file complaints with the licensing provider. In my opinion, the license is just something decorative in case the government ever sees the casino. I haven't seen any government bothering crypto casinos yet. It seems that this is a sector that governments don't care much about, apart from some KYC requirements.

People here always pointed out such confusion when a new casino is open for business here. If the casino representative cannot answer it fully or there no license yet, it's a red flag, especially if they claim they have but yet still on process or what, again its a red flag. People experiences such as there's a casino months ago who gain trust here yet no license yet then later on just rug pull and scam users here.

Most gamblers can’t even tell if a casino comply copied the license of another casino and place it on their site or if it’s a forged license.
Personally, the only time I pay attention to the license of a casino is when I’m conducting a review or just checking the site out to spot any red flags. But if I’m to come across a site and I want to use it to gamble, I’ll most likely not check the license an even if I do, I won’t spend much time trying to check for the authenticity of the license.
I also must confess, I still don’t know the difference between having a license and the registered under, that you mentioned in the Op.

I rarely read the terms of service. Often, when I see discussions, especially in the accusations section of the forum, most people haven't read the terms of service, and only after a problem occurs with the casino do they read the terms of service. For me, being from a country that is blocked by most services, I focus primarily on sites that do not require KYC and sites where I can maintain my privacy to a great extent. I don't care much about other features; that is what I focus on in the first place.

And that is where those casinos are scamming gamblers. If any casino bypassing the due process before launching their casinos in the Marketing Place is illegal. And as the Op said, some gamblers thought the two are one and it is good to verify if the casino has license before coming to the market place to operate. Some casinos are indeed very tricky in terms of how they run their business, but the registration and licensing don't also stop them from carrying out their fraud. If they have that in mind, the safest way to just escape some of these new casinos is for us to stick with the old ones which we are used to. At least they have been serving us better without any issue, be it licensing issues, withdrawals or others.

Both are intrinsic and correlated; it's not a matter of agreeing with one or the other, both must be present. The reality is that users often don't read, much less verify the licend. Perhaps the license requirement is simply assumed to be sufficient, but verifying its status is almost the same as reading the TOCs.
Therefore, almost all legal casinos display their license in the website footer (at the bottom). Or a logo; you should verify it, or if not, simply look for established or well-known casinos.
By the way, this is a well-known and widely debated topic on this forum, so it would be good to lock the thread until you reach some conclusions. Bahaha! Alright, bet only a few out of thousands if not millions that get registered on a casino really care about critical informations and verifiable status like this. I didn't even know there was a way to verify those information, if not for this threads. I learnt something new today.

To be honest, as a player, I don't verify anything. What I do look for are expert reviews. When casinos are trustworthy, then I dare to play, because I've been through many times where trusting or researching wasn't enough and I lost money. But licenses don't guarantee that a casino is reliable or that it won't scam me. For me, that doesn't carry any weight. What matters to me is the reputation and the opinions of some reviewers on the forum who have much more experience.
