My point here is starting all-over is better than staying off completely. It's better to have slow growth than taking no action at all
It will be wiser for beginners not to share the same fate as you did back then, this sort of information is here to guide newbies on how to prepare their investment without experiencing what many of us experienced while we never had appropriate knowledge about Bitcoin investment. This is an opportunity for those who don't know to learn from OP mistakes, experience isn't always the best teacher, some who take a fall might not recover, there is no gain to be greedy for quick money flow, investments are based on principles and it must be followed.

Yes, I agree that investing is easier than trading, but you still need to learn some basic things, how to analyze and understand the market, when and how to invest, develop an investment strategy according to your financial situation. It is also important to have an investment plan and a clear exit strategy. All of this is important to do before you even start investing. The most important thing in everything is to learn to control your emotions and always stick to your original plan, no matter what happens in the market.
Honestly, the two is hard but it depend on what you mean by easier. Without stress you can buy Bitcoin and hold on your wallet and makes some profit but you can't do that while trading, you have to do extra work to make sure anything you doing is going well, there are days you make profit and there are bad days you make loss which sometimes are beyond your control, you have to accept it the way they came but on average, you could make more. However, been a holder isn't easy task ask well. There are people that made their first Bitcoin investment when Bitcoin touch $64k last bull run, they hold and never sell till now. The same Bitcoin touch $62k this year before it bound back to $85k before coming to this range, they literally have nothing left to take as profit. This is why to be a holder, you must be a diamond hands. Check most wallets that received first Bitcoin in the last 10 years don't have a single sat left, they have sold.

Scam related stories shared most times are related to telegram, this shows how telegram is an easy access secondly twitter is also part of the major source investors get scammed. Starting all over again shows how learned a person is, it’s not always about meeting bitcoin in same price range or a favorable range rather it’s about knowing the common ways to escape such scam because you’ve once been in same situation previous time, obviously those who met bitcoin at a better price range still might as well lose everything if they’re not knowledgeable enough viewing how crypto scam is now common even the slightest mistake will cost you everything, no time is ever late buying bitcoin instead of waiting and watching the market price fluctuate why not start all over.

It takes a lot of courage to bounce back after hitting rock bottom, I was lucky enough to be on the forum before I started investing in crypto, this gave me all the heads-up that I needed to avoid getting scammed. Sharing your story is going to be very helpful to those that are starting their journey, a lot of people are not going to admit that they have made such mistakes in the past but one thing is certain, nobody is above mistakes. It is better to start all over again than to stay at rock bottom living in regret and wishing that you did things differently.
Also giving the fact most newbies who come into the crypto/bitcoin investment industry are usually very optimistic and enthusiastic, willing to learn things that would help them improve skills and make their journey better, and this often makes it very easy for them to fall into the traps of scammers, because scammers end up taking advantage of their ignorance and rip them all in the name of helping them.

I don’t even believe that there is a concept like starting all over again. Like going back to zero- no. You starting from where you are , the lessons, the knowledge, the resources you have been exposed despite the loss or setbacks. You can’t go back and start from the beginning but can you have you have gotten to grow from there. That’s how my bitcoin and crypto journey has been. Your concept on beginning all over again is a motivating one cause most of the times people fail to get started again after a big financial loss is that all they think about is the money they had lost. The do not think that they have gained knowledge from that experience and never to repeat it again when they go on bigger scale assuming they bounce back and remain consistent towards the newer rewards in front. There is room for rebuilding only if you have the mentality. There have been people who got robbed of their valuable asset, but did not stay down, they got back stronger rebuilding robustly that they made double for their resilience and consistency.

I once lost everything to greed, anxiety and uncertainty. My crypto journey began sometime around 2020, back then I was very optimistic and ready to jump into any investment opportunity that comes my way. In 2021 I got my first surprise.
What happened was i entertained a complete stranger on my telegram channel. The fellow first got me to trust her and in the process introduced me to a scheme. The tone of assurance was so strong that I fell for it.
Funny enough the tried to get my full trust by giving me rewards every day for staking my coin on their mining platform. And after two weeks I woke up to see my wallet has been cleared. Both the rewards and my personal coin all gone
It drained me and kept me low for quite a long period. I didn't know where to start from and I was even confused on how to explain this to someone else. It took me a long time to put myself back together.
Then in 2024 I tried building back. It wasn't easy from the start but I kept up with consistency. Although I don't have as much as I had back in 2020 but I am glad I am able to stay committed no matter how small the growth seems.
My point here is starting all-over is better than staying off completely. It's better to have slow growth than taking no action at all
I am sorry to hear about you getting scammed out of your money. I have started over so many times in my life from scratch in various areas (also losing my money being one of them) that I can safely say there is nothing to fear. In fact, it is a very amazing feeling- to finally gather the courage to walk a new path in life or to rebuild something you had spent a lot of time building. But that time/money was not wasted. It is a valuable experience which will fuel your growth as a human being. And that alone is very much worth it.

There so many that has had this kind of experience. The most important thing you didn't let it break you because there are people that this kind of thing happened to and they never started again, they may just give up completely. However, you have had this experience the most important thing is learning from it , in other not to fall to such scam again. There are people that has been scam more than once which is very bad and this happened to them because they failed to learn from there past mistakes.

I'm so sorry to hear this, and it is a lesson I believe will make u a better investor going forward. And ur words of encouragement is right on point. I believe most of us have had similar experiences cause the Internet and especially the crypto/web3 space is field with a lot of scammers that even a little slip up will be very costly and detrimental. Anyways, it's nice to know u learnt ur lessons and persisted.

You went through a difficult experience, but now you have grown for the better. Your experience can serve as a warning to everyone not to easily trust investment offers with promises of quick returns or in any form. Especially from people we don’t know at all. Some beginners are certainly targets for such scammers. Be careful with the assets you have built with your hard work, especially if you have accumulated them for a long time.

I love the perceptive of Op and his life experience. I will be honest with you, to start over from the scratch is not something so easy to do. For your own case, it took you from 2021 to 2024 to put yourself together. To some people, it took faster and some it takes upto 5 years and more. I do not pray that one should be a victim of starting over, because it is really not easy.
But one thing is that anyone that is starting over, is not starting over from zero. Rather, they are starting over from experience. It is easier to build on experience because such issues as scams would be avoided because you would definitely be smarter.

Proof of work is a great achievement if you can use it as a tool for your life and personal finances. I am really sorry to read about this "bad start" of your journey in crypto, but other than a lesson that mostly has a certain time, there is the knowledge in this field that could always be useful.
If you don't waste time on some low-effort coins (aka memes or probably most altcoins), you would find Bitcoin and related technology part of the future for humanity. We can't understand how fast it has risen, but a few years ago it was just unbelievable that now it's "requested to pay a toll" as a neutral form of money. Probably the consequences of this would be pretty deep... the amount lost in the end could be just a tiny fraction of the potential that you can gain from your actual knowledge.

It seems that everyone who comes to the crypto world and is new to it has had more or less experience of being cheated. Even with a bitter experience in the crypto world, it leads to something good. I believe that those who encounter such fraud in a new situation can come out stronger from there. I have not been scammed with any big amount, but I once fell into small traps during airdrop activities. However, those who encounter these in a new situation come forward in a new and much more secure way. You have to remember that anything can happen at any time but you cannot give up, you have to turn around and move forward with caution, only then is it possible to improve.

Building after a scam is literally not always easy, but moreover it's always the only option one has in other to get back on track, because it's just saw that newbies have always been the primary target of both online and crypto scams, and many people fell victim to it, likewise myself many years ago when I ran into many Telegram investment scams which I lost my money. So as long as we are alive and breathing, we should definitely never be scared of starting all over again and again. So I'm happy you got back on track at O.P and I hope you never too trust anyone you meet randomly online, because just as a few may be genuine, majority are scams. I could remember the first time I got scammed. It was not easy For me to start afresh because I know how I suffer to make that money, there is nothing i didn’t think of but I never gave up. But most people find it difficult to start all over. Life isn’t fair so given up isn’t the best option. The best thing is to move forward and say to yourself that you can do it. Newbies should be very careful because they’re now the target, most of them don’t know how scams works. Anything that promise fast profit isn’t real, don’t click on links you don’t understand, anything that sounds too good isn’t true. Before you send money verify if the wallet address is correct or not. So, never be afraid of starting all over again because your experience will make you more wiser next time. This is not only for newbies it’s also for everyone, we should be careful.

What happened to you is not peculiar to cryptocurrency, except that yours is linked to cryptocurrency. People have been swindled through that scheme for decades, which is why we all have to be careful. I wonder how you still fall victim to such deceit though, especially in this 21st century; people have moved past that scheme, for it is outdated.
Such things were still very common in 2021 when he cited that the incident happened to him. I still believe till date there will still be people that still victims of staking their assets in platforms that are offering such services. It all depends on the leveI of information at your disposal. I don't blame OP for falling victim of such scam back then because staking of coins for more rewards were common that time. Some people fell victim of other things like investing in ICO that never lunched their projects. These things from parts of one experiences as individuals, because not many people had the privilege of learning from these scams without falling victim themselves.

Many people have had really bad first-time crypto experiences. I still remember a friend who went as far as paying for a trading bot, which ended up making him lose all of his capital very quickly. He got the advice from a person he regarded as his mentor back then. There are still other people who invested heavily in pump-and-dump coins and ended up unlucky. Many still hate crypto to date, while some researched more and found Bitcoin, which gave them a totally different experience.
When people say "invest only what you can afford to lose," they aren't joking about it. Investing in crypto is very risky. You might start off on the wrong foundation or get scammed by people who claim they are trying to help you. But all of those form part of your experiences, so you can know what to do and what not to do going forward. It will help you appreciate the importance of research, due diligence and risk management.

If we continue to dwell on our past mistakes it means that we cannot make efforts to get passed then and move on to the next level, many great minds made mistakes before they succeeded. If you have interest in cryptocurrency but quit because of a mistake that you made then you will also be missing out on the good parts that are ahead so if you made a mistake you should learn from it and move on.
Try not to repeat a mistake twice and learn from experienced people's mistakes that is why doing research and being informed in the crypto space is very important because there are lots of scams. I believe that many of us in the crypto market have made mistakes and have been scammed atleast ones still we are still here. If you are a newbie and don't want to be scammed before you gain much experience you should only buy and hold Bitcoin in a none custodial wallet.

Everyone makes mistakes, and we here are no exception. I’ve been scammed by cloud mining and lost money that way. I’ve also bought shitcoins and lost money on those too. From those experiences, we’ve come to understand what’s wrong and what’s right, and that makes us more experienced and helps us be more cautious in the future. Don’t let those experiences discourage us, because that’s pointless. It’s better to keep investing, but not in just anything, but in Bitcoin, which has proven itself.

It is easier to say than act when you talk about starting over again. There are folks who have lost their many years of handwork just by slight display of smartness. It is better to learn from the mistakes of others instead of waiting to experience what happened to others. Sometimes the level of wealth lost over a slight mistake or trying to follow FOMO prints. It is even more rampant amongst the rich investors who invest serious amounts into bitcoin let's say at $70k, with the initial plan of holding for a long time. But when price goes up, they start attempting to play around with bitcoin thinking they are wise. When such people crash into losses, they find it very hard to get back to their feet and some people go to the extent of going gaga and alcoholism. So it's easier to preach getting back after grace disappointment than practicing it. To be on the Safe side, you should be very conscious and careful with your investment at all time.

It's better to have slow growth than taking no action at all
Because of sad experiences like this, it is the reason we should be careful about whom we trust in this space. Not everyone who offers help or gives you free gifts from time to time means well for you. Their aim is to have your trust and before they could give you the shock of your life to take away much from the things they have given you. It's unfortunate that you trusted the wrong person in this crypto space. I believe you have learned your lesson that nobody should be trusted to the extent of joining their online platform to partake in their staking rewards. I believe you are wise not to trust and succumb to any given offer offered by strangers
