Truth hurts, but that's the reality, it seems that after Wilder lost to Fury, he also lost some of his confidence in boxing. Maybe he's not taking his training as seriously anymore, that's why he's now losing even to boxers who are not really on the same level as the opponents he used to face.

But of course I would still love to see AJ vs Wilder, I'm just not sure if promoters are still willing to risk big money on that fight knowing Wilder is already past his prime.

Wilder got a late start in the sport. He is now almost 41 years old. On top of that, he suffered a lot of damage in those Fury fights. All of that diminished him to a great extent. He was also not all that versatile and was mostly relying on single punch knockouts. Without his confidence, he isn’t as intimidating or destructive.

He won’t ever return to being a high level contender. I think he is only staying around because he needs money to support his many children. AJ is his last hope of landing one last major payday.
That is true, when he lost to Fury in their trilogy, I think he also lost some of his confidence, but at least he already made a lot of money from those fights since they were probably the biggest fights of his career.

So if he was able to save his money well, fighting unknown boxers is no longer really necessary, he can already retire without damaging his record much more. I really thought before that he would dominate the heavyweight division because he was almost at a 100% KO rate, but then Fury came and completely changed that.

He was also not all that versatile and was mostly relying on single punch knockouts. Without his confidence, he isn’t as intimidating or destructive.
There was a time when everyone including the pundits was praising Deontay Wilder as the greatest boxer and knockout artist of all time. The way he used a simple left jab to cover his straight right hand was truly amazing. Wilder could have ridden his high horse if he had kept his mouth shut. Instead, he mocked and called out Fury for his insane weight gain, and thanks to that, we got to see the biggest fight in heavyweight history after a very long time. Grin

He won’t ever return to being a high level contender. I think he is only staying around because he needs money to support his many children. AJ is his last hope of landing one last major payday.
I hope he gets the AJ fight and retires for good, as he has already made a lot of money. I hope there won't be a point where he is forced to return to survive like every other boxer just for the payday.

Regarding Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, both are well past their prime days and I won't be surprised if this is their last bout, at least for Fury. I would naturally pick Tyson Fury to win for his technical skills, but I'm not sure how that will translate at 38 years of age.

As for me, I would not factor age that much, especially if his opponent is still inferior to him in terms of skills. The fact that Fury is still actively fighting and winning, I believe he can still beat a boxer like AJ.

Honestly, I find AJ overrated, I mean after all those defeats, we still think of him like he's still a championship-level fighter. This fight could be a reality check for him, hopefully it finally pushes through.

This is debatable, I mean, sure, Tyson Fury is a skilled technical fighter, but Anthony Joshua also has his power, which can be devastating if left unchecked.

The fact that Fury is still actively fighting and winning, I believe he can still beat a boxer like AJ.
If you didn't know, both of them just had a fight and both of them won. Also, the next match Fury's match against Mariusz Wach is considered an "easy fight", at least according to what I've read online.

Honestly, I find AJ overrated, I mean after all those defeats, we still think of him like he's still a championship-level fighter. This fight could be a reality check for him, hopefully it finally pushes through.
The guy is a strong fighter, so it's really not that unbelievable to consider him as a "championship-level fighter". Also, losses don't really mean much when defining if a boxer is a championship-level fighter, just look at Pacquiao, he lost multiple times during the time he was climbing weight divisions, but he was still considered a "championship-level fighter" at the time.

As for the odds, it makes sense if Fury is the favorite because he has achieved more in boxing than AJ, and that is also how bettors will probably look at it. Bookies usually adjust based on how the market reacts, and for me if Fury somehow opens as the underdog, I would see that as real value and probably put a bigger bet on him.

I'm not an expert, but I think Fury is the better fighter, though. He has more experience and has been in more fights. The bookies were not wrong to give him those odds, but I just feel, from a gambler's POV, it's not worth it. Even if he wins, I won't win anything reasonable from that odd. I always like odds that would at least give me double my stake. So I think it's wise to go with the underdog, so if I win, I get to make more profit, and if he loses, it won't hurt because he was predicted to lose.
If the odds were 2 for Fury and 3 for Joshua, I would bet on Fury. I will just keep an eye on the match and the odds, to see if there are any changes.

If the odds were 2 for Fury and 3 for Joshua, I would bet on Fury. I will just keep an eye on the match and the odds, to see if there are any changes.
Don't worry, you will see an official announcement regarding the duel between T Fury and A Joshua as soon as possible in the near future, you can see in several boxing sports sources about the two of them, are you sure you want to bet on T Fury, both of them are former world heavyweight boxing champions, A Joshua cannot be underestimated, even though T Fury is currently nicknamed "The Gypsy King" remember T Fury was defeated by Oleksandr Usyk twice in 2024, A Joshua yesterday won by knockout in the second round over KristianPrenga July 26 2026 yesterday, This victory is an opportunity for him to fight boxer Ty Fury, it looks like he will look exciting in the ring.

I rate this match between Fury vs. Joshua is truly a prestigious meeting, this time the two of them will no longer win the heavyweight champion, but will determine the true king of boxing, I'm sure both of them will show their hidden talents, This time we will see all the moves that were never used when they duel later, it will be a truly tense encounter for boxing fans.

But I am surprised that there are people who consider Fury to be a favorite. What makes him favorite in their eyes? Never been knocked out, only few knockdowns in career (except booze, booze I think knocked him down frequently). Strong chin. Fast for his weight and body shape. All these were his advantages; when he was in peak form, when he was interesting in fighting and winning. Only was AJ could lose it is lucky punch or "fixed" judges who will give Fury rounds only for his past fame.

we're just following the public perception here, because based on the odds from this , Fury is heavily favored at -165, so there's probably a reason why the market sees him that way, but of course there's still no assurance. For me, even if Fury was the underdog I would still root for him to win, I like the old guy here because he's smarter and more mature inside the ring. As for AJ, he really needs to land a solid punch to KO Fury, but that's something Fury has survived before even against a heavier puncher like Wilder.

Won't be an easy fight for Fury neither would it be for AJ, both are top rated fighters, AJ has shown that he is fully prepared for the fight after showing his readiness when he knocked out Kristen Prenga, in the second round, that alone proves that he is fully in shape to take on Fury. I hope that the organizers would sort out the matter of venue and a precise date so that we can fully preper to watch the two greats punch fiercely at each other, in the end I'm predicting that AJ takes glory of the day either in a late knockout or judges decisions. So yes my money is on AJ to win.

You're right, I typed that wrong, what I mean is his been dropped or knocked down a lot of times. Note that even on the knockdown still able to win it.

So it already shows that he can get dropped but could recover and continue fighting, so for sure it will be a good fight. I mean, Joshua's style was just too straightforward for me, it was just textbook combinations but still effective. Fury has the range if Joshua doesn't do anything about that, he might get punished by Fury's Jab. Joshua needs more of a close fight to actually get to punch Fury with power.

Both boxers can absorb punches, but I think Fury has better stamina than Joshua, there were fights where Joshua got dropped and struggled to recover after that.

So in this fight, it makes sense that Fury is the favorite because I think he's simply the better fighter. I don't really see Joshua having much of a chance here since his style can be predictable, he may be quicker, but Fury is the smarter boxer.

Having the same thoughts, Tyson Fury for sure is going to have the upper hand here because of the long reach. I think his advantage is going to be the distance in the fight since he mostly uses his rhythm for a long jabs. I feel like Joshua is always so stiff. I mean, they were heavyweights, but mostly just basic combinations, but have power. If he can get close to Fury, he might be able to drop him, but I doubt that Fury is going to let him.

Maybe Fury could easily win by decision if the fight gets longer. Still, this could easily turn out differently since they are for sure going to have preparations for each other, so let's see how this fight is going to turn out.

I’m surprised at the people who think this will be an easy fight for Fury. I guess I just can’t get over his out of shape appearance, but I definitely wouldn’t be betting on him. Jake Paul’s jaw probably wouldn’t either, but I guess that performance isn’t a good one to base a real fight on.
I don't know if you can call them top rated boxers, if you have watch their recent tune up fight, it was not as dominant as we though. Even AJ was knock down in that fight. So they could have been in the way out of their prime.

But they didn't to fight as this is all British shutdown. So for their fans, this is going to be a huge fight and hopefully it can still push thru despite some legal disputes on the contract specially as where the fight should be held.
