No matter how tempting and legit a crypto ad is on Google, never click on it. Most of those ads are run by scammers and hackers. I do not know why people easily trust strange ads they see on an unregulated space such as Google. If anyone must click on any ad or link, then they should ensure that they check the URL.

For those newbies who are yet to understand this, fake URLs are usually altered; they could contain additional characters or missing characters. They usually look similar to the original, but when checked carefully and closely, one would see that something is wrong.

That is never a mistake; it is a deliberate act by scammers to lure you. People should be careful out there; today it's Ledger users, tomorrow another set of people may be targeted. Be security conscious always because your coins, once lost, cannot be recovered.

I have seen a lot of this in Facebook, even other people tend to send this to other people because they thought its real the bad thing is it became a chain of people that mostly new to crypto become a victim of this, from what they thought also that the referral of what they did to create or login, can give them more, they started sharing this to their friend, that is why they are become a big circle of victim, if you were sent something like that, ignore it the best way is to go to their official website, where you can confirm if its true or not those ads that give you 50 dollars when referred or something sometimes greed get the most of people.
I know of this kind of pattern both on Facebook and WhatsApp groups. I used to receive such messages in the past from close people I know and even strangers. Those who forward those messages have no better excuse for forwarding such unverified information other than mere greed. These ignorant victims are usually asked to forward such messages to as many people as possible so as to claim their packages, unlock their wallets, or for whatever reason they are given. People are not just ignorant; they are also desperate to make money through any means. In the process, they put more people at risk. The good thing is that people are more enlightened now, and scammers are becoming aware that this method is now obsolete.

Your browser has the uBlock Origin extension installed does that still affect the signatures on the forum? Because what I know is that uBlock Origin used to block signatures on the forum, for me Brave browser is good enough because it blocks ads automatically without the need to download other extensions.
You can also exclude the forum if your filters block the sigs and you can'f figure out which filters are causing that. I'm pretty sure it's quite easy to whitelist a website, if anything if you manually disable the blocking on specific websites by default it won't affect your global rules, iirc. So it shouldn't break your ad blocking on other websites like Google or those with malicious ads. CMIIW.

With the forum native settings on your profile, you can block signature already and don't need to use ublock or any extension for that purpose.

Customizing your account settings at Look and Layout Preferences
Code:
Don't show users' avatars.
Don't show users' signatures.

It's similar to lock by disable user's avatar and signatures.

This is nothing new, this has been happening for a couple of years now, maybe more. Google doesn't give a shit about what happens to you or whether your wallet gets drained by malicious ads. As long as money & data is coming, they don't care. Accidents can happen at any time, so it's better to use an adblocker as everyone suggested. Also, the first rule of thumb, never click the first link (sponsored one), and the second, always bookmark your sites. With these, we can greatly reduce the number of accidental clicks.. Smiley
What do you expect when money is involved. It's even more lucrative when the push malicious ads out there because it stirs greed in a few as a result of the over hyped content pushed through those ads. Not everyone knows about adblocker also it's highly recommended for a safe internet usage.

For those who are static in learning or too lazy to block ads on their browsers it's best not to click on random links but instead search each sites by carefully entering the right URL to avoid being exposed to vulnerable attacks

The obvious way to avoid taking the bait is to never click on any ads shown and to rely only on your own bookmarks for any crypto site you use.
It is as simple as that. Staying away from clicking or visiting sites randomly that you never had the intention to watch or one website you did not key in the command to search from your device internet but displays on it own such as the pop up ADs should be avoided to fight against this kind of malwares.

Some crypto users are actually ignorant not to be suspicion for ADs that displays on it own to be at the threat of compromising the device securities including extractions of recovery seed phrase of crypto wallet.

To download ledge wallet is advised from the play store or Apple store or just a specific store with the right reputation, so as to avoid giving access to these ad sites that bug our devices endlessly.  I understand it's better to use the app instead of the extension or links to the website on our web browser.
We should more importantly avoid saving screenshots of seed phrases or login information on our devices gallery so that we don't unintentionally give information to phishing links we mistakingly click on.

I have tried firewall and this block ads, although its open source, ads that is malicious where block and stop it from showing in my computers in the network, although that I just tried it in my home lab, it has help me iliminate this kinds of attack or way for scammers to trigger me to install, or run an application.
Its a bit hard for a newbie to try this setup, but there are videos in youtube to stop or block google ads that might cause or result from stealing your crypto in your wallet or in you mobile, but to make sure your wallet will not be compromise never click anything that popups in your screen.

I don’t think it’s that simple you know,
There are several places we visit on the internet and with the very visit or fresh loads, these ads do popup and if not carefully examined to find just where the close tab is, you just might end up clicking and opening a new page all along.

Google needs to be more responsible on the ads they put out there for people. Their customer protection should be ranked above all else. If this doesn’t happen to be the case, a lot of unsuspecting users would be victims to several phishing attacks.

My browsers have ad blockers and I also download the uBlock origin extension which is very good in blocking other add that my browsers ad blockers can not block.

Other ways that I am seeing ads is through some apps, but I rarely use such apps. If I am using them, I still do not click on the ads.

Nowadays of scamming schemes, users devices would only have chances to stay clean and safe for the user by installing very highly anti scam software to the device which should be projected to counter malwares and also scans and filters unwanted files from their device and requests to clean it up.

Ads have been a very common way to get exposed to scammers and hackers. This is one of the first thing I learnt on this forum when I become a member.

That's a crazy truth, the apps has also turned into some kind of marketing project that're unwarranted with how they just displays and it sucks as hard and exhausting that you can't even tell what's prompting the Ads because you didn't subscribe to it  and the app displaying the Ads also either has no similarities with the projects or products being advertised.
Anyone without the awareness of how dangerous these Ads are programmed to steal users informations and fund's may be vulnerable to fall victim to the scam. Those with experience will always ignore clicking on the Ad just to keep it privacy safe from potential malicious threats.

This is why I'm afraid to click anything because who knows what I might get from clicking the ads. In todays world anything we click might cost us, our money, bank account etc., so be careful even application that we install we should check and verify it first.

No need to panic or paranoid too much, use common sense and think about the risks. At least there are various steps we can take. Separating devices is one of them, separate devices that are related to valuable assets or important information. On this forum also disccus about virus/hacker  thi is give we experience and then can anticipation that. In action there are several free service providers like adblock but they are not effective. Maybe the paid ones can also be tried, although this is not completely safe. I am also very disappointed with Google, they do not filter optimally. We currently live in a situation where privacy is an exclusive thing that is difficult to obtain. There are always loopholes that can be exploited by online criminals. We just need to be vigilant and careful.

Anything is now possible as an attack on android devices, don't wait till you are one of the scapegoats before you understand that crypto isn't safe on any smartphones, they are telling you the ones that got exposed how about those that hasn't yet?

As a crypto investor who have always store coins on android  phones in the past I have given up on that idea for a very long time already, android phones are for calling and browsing the internet, they are not mainly build for Blockchain security purposes.

Crypto wallet companies are only trying their bests to make sure that people who can't afford a hardware wallet can still use crypto wallets for free, but the damages that can come with it is what I am not ready to pay for.

Google doesn't give a shit about what happens to you or whether your wallet gets drained by malicious ads. As long as money & data is coming, they don't care.
As much as companies like Google are not to be trusted, there is only so much they can do. People who create these malicious attacks are not sleeping, they work tirelessly just like companies like Google, so it's not everytime they can be proactive against vulnerabilities. Sometimes, they would be reactive. Hackers always find ways to get through, especially in cases like this. This is why users also have a role to play in their security. They can't leave everything for the company.
Also, the first rule of thumb, never click the first link (sponsored one), and the second, always bookmark your sites. With these, we can greatly reduce the number of accidental clicks.. Smiley
On google search page, I don't even click the "sponsored' links at all. They always look like a scam to me, even though they may be legit.

Do you know the easiest and completely free solution to never accidentally click on a malicious ad (or an ad at all)? Use adblockers like uBlock Origin, or if you don't want to for some reason, never click on the first sponsored search results.

In the specific case, Google is your enemy who does not care that it serves you malicious ads and that your crypto wallets will be emptied. So watch your clicks and don't store more than you can afford to lose in your hot wallets.

Ads have caused a lot of damage for people in different ways. I have been thinking that ads have so many influence to how it is affecting and interrupting in the usage of data and information. Like I was using my phone one day andthis app pop's up while I was working with my phone, I tried to cancell it  but it was not leaving until click on it and was directed to a link and all I have to do is to close the app and reopen the former apps I was using before I was interrupted by the ads. If this was I malicious ads, I would have been trapped and endangered.
