Regarding the users suggesting new items, you could make a form on the website, instead of collecting suggestions through twitter or email, so users can stay on the site.

Right now, it looks like a plain crypto-exchange, which doesn't look fun, considering this site is meant to be fun and informative, right? How about instead of that, place a big Burger in the center, then below it is the number of Burgers per 1 Bitcoin, or whatever value a user puts in it. Or you could also fill half of the screen with lots of burgers, maybe add a little animation, like they are falling from the top, filling the screen up. Then, include some numbers below it, and a box where users can change what item they want to compare it with.
