I achieved of getting 250 merits today, so I will say that's one achievement already for me.

For me, yeah, perhaps getting a PM from the admin himself or at least getting merit from him will be a privilege.
Congrats, in time I'm sure theymos will happen across one of your posts.

So yeah, I would feel I have made it on the forum when I can understand these things and have conversations about them easily. It's a marathon, though, not a sprint.

Thats a great saying, something we can all adopt!

Not sure if I have a bucket list of sorts most newbies might but sometimes when you meet these achievements they gradually seem trivial.
of course, when we set a target and then achieve that we quickly move onto the next, as we achieve more
we can become somewhat satisfied with the achievements. But at the start the firum journey there are
definitely targets and standards we all want to reach.
My goal in this forum is to become a moderator,
And I know it's only consistency, perseverance and determination that can birth such
goal!
Best of luck!

none of those
im here to learn. and have fun. nothing else really.. ~14 years here and so far so good.
... pretty much the same as that. My most enjoyable section of the forum is the Collectibles Board!
I confess that at first you worry about climbing the merit ladder, but over the years that becomes secondary and you don't worry so much anymore. You get used to being on the forum, which becomes part of your daily life. I don't know if most of the top users on the forum think the same, but I believe that after achieving legendary status, all those accomplishments are more about feeling proud of your contributions than about a number or a badge on your profile.
similar to vapourminer's experience on the forum
There are some people I suppose who are super chill and dont pressure themselves with
being classed as high achievers and others who set high goals for themselves.
In terms of our public forum what are your goals if any and have they been realised?
would it be any of the following?
become a moderator
become a master pumpkin carver
known as the unofficial/official coding guru or other guru
get a pm directly from theymos
get invited to a prestigious signature campaign
cross 10,000 merit
cross 100 merit
interesting to hear what peoples perceptions are....
all the bold have happened.
also crossed 50,000 posts
I do not quite feel as if I have it made ,but I guess maybe in a few more years and btc at a million bucks a coin I will feel more like it.
There was a time I would have modded here , but it never worked out as a few people here with solid pull are not a fan of me.
... and I do believe you were a master Pizza baker at one point too, surely that should get a mention

I've been thinking about my real goal for almost an hour, but haven't gotten anywhere.
I think I should stay here a little longer (a temporary goal), maybe until Bitcoin actually reaches $1 million and see the community's reaction, especially if they also quote past naysayers.

As the saying goes: knowing your goal is half the battle. I see that in your profile: lots of monitoring, few posts.
just take vapourminer's approach!
Ever since I joined the forum I have had one goal and one goal only. That goal was to reach 6200 merit by April 30th of 2026. I must admit that with only four hours to go I am extremely nervous about whether or not my time on this forum has been a complete failure. What else is there if not the 6200 merit by April 30th of 2026 goal? Should I just delete my account?
Brilliant Og, as well as achieving your signature collection you reached your forum goal with the help of EFS!
For the most people, getting into a signature camp and getting paid weekly is the main goal. They don't really have more expectations than that.
Yea thats probably about right.
