I also hit my 10,000th post this year. Since I tend to think in terms of orders of magnitude, the next significant milestone would be 100,000 posts, which I won’t reach.

I think the only milestone I’d still have a shot at reaching would be making it into the top 100 in earned merit. Same thing there—for me, the next milestone would be making it into the top 10, which isn’t going to happen.

Reaching 20,000 posts or being 90th in earned merit is cool, but it’s not nearly as cool as when you move up an order of magnitude.

I know that I'm happy in this forum because there is always something new for me to gain everytime and day, this is an informative and educative place where you get all types of perspectives to a topic. I respect the intelligence of majority of forum members, you think that you are very vast in one aspect and you see somebody else that is dissecting it deeper than you know so you wouldn't have a choice but to humble yourself and learn from them.

As for the achievements in this forum I really admire every intelligent high ranked members including those that I consider quality posters that are not high ranked, I used to wish that I would be ranking up successively then I realized that my accolades doesn't go beyond this forum. No obsession to be among the best here, I'm happy to enter this forum everyday to learn something and give something back in return.

would it be any of the following?

become a moderator
become a master pumpkin carver
known as the unofficial/official coding guru or other guru

get invited to a prestigious signature campaign
cross 10,000 merit
cross 100 merit

Non of the above, I came to this forum to learn more about bitcoin and along the line the forum started becoming fun to me, the only thing I wanted to achieve in this forum is to know about bitcoin and I have done that and I’m still learning more thanks to the brilliant men and women we have in this forum you all are great and wonderful.

Everyone's goal in this forum is to grow and constantly improve in knowledge and in rank. Mine is in no way different. Learning important things about Bitcoin that I do not get to learn from regular places has been my number one goal right from the start. I can feel it already, but I cannot really say that I have gained more than enough knowledge already.

Another thing is that I won't be satisfied with myself if I am not getting anything here on this forum that proves to me that I am improving. Growing from one lower rank to the next and then to a higher rank is satisfying. The merits show that people love what I do here and that I am not just wasting my time. I am not under any pressure to earn merits or rank up because I already knew right from when I migrated from the status of a newbie to Full Member that I had made it and I'm where I was supposed to be.

You really caused emotional damage. While reading your post, I laughed for some moments but immediately I saw the part about possible ban, I became a bit shocked and nervous. Normally, whenever we expect personal message from theymos, we always hope it will be for something positive, not this kind of ban-related news.

And you are saying if someone receives a ban message, they should take it as an achievement but let me ask you back, if you receive this kind of PM yourself, how exactly will you accept as achievement? .

Well, I'm not interested to become a moderator because we already have some good moderators who're doing their job in the best way possible. Also I'm not interested to become a master pumpkin carver, and I'm also not interested to known as official or unofficial coding guru either.

When it comes to getting a good pm from theymos then who doesn't want something like that? I guess it'll be good to get a good pm from our admin from the one who has been managing this forum for many years. Thumbs up for theymos!

Well, reaching 10,000 merits is a good one I guess but I would rather want to reach 1000 first before thinking about that 10,000 merits so I guess I'm happy the way I'm right now, and if none of those happen I'll still be enjoying this forum and learning many new things by reading good posts of good members and also by sharing my own personal opinion.
