Unfortunately not many people have the choice of choosing an expensive better thing. They don't buy cheap things because they want to but because they don't have another choice. They know it's bad and even dangerous for us but what I'd that's the only thingin their budget. So we can't criticise people for buying "cheap" things though we can those people who buy cheap things just to stack and sva money for things that are really unnecessary like a gambling or an alcohol addiction because they are now guilty because they had the choice to choose better but didn't.

Some cheap things also have good quality, but unfortunately high esteem people are lucky enough to purchase the most expensive items or products, but that doesn't mean you should imitate them, the best thing for you to do is to cut your coats according to your size, but to achieve this, contentment is the key, feeling happy and contented with what you have is another form of peace of mind and a great emotional stability as a result of self-control and self-awareness. No condition is permanent, you just have to adapt to whatever situation you found yourself. You are not bound to living a manageable life forever, sometimes you might also have the opportunity to live a luxurious life, because the situation of life is dynamic.

While I also like the more expensive ones because it means better quality. But, that doesn't apply at all times. Well even those businessmen will likely to buy cheap goods so they can put a higher rise on the price once they start selling it. Consider also the place of their origin, it already cost a price before its being imported.

Each item has its own reasonable price, depending on the used materials or depending on how long it will be able to stay useful on the user. But regardless of its price, if you know how to handle it well, it will really last longer on its user.

Who is the benefactor of the cultural message to spend more and buy better? High quality brands have taken decades to make individuals believe that the more the price the higher the ethical manufacturing. You can get 200 dollar shirts produced in the same factories as 20 dollar ones. It is not the margin of quality. Brand occupies its place and spends a ton of money to market. This is because the consumer is buying the story behind the object, and not the object itself.

The idea of vote with your wallet can only work when you have options in your wallet. And to the great majority of the world it does not. And we then find ourselves in a situation where ethical consumption is being performed in a class. Something affluent people do to feel aligned with their values while the structural conditions that produce cheap goods remain completely untouched.

And yet will the individual consumer choice ever be able to reform a system that is designed? On an individual level, at the point of raw materials extraction through retail shelf, to reduce cost? We continue to lay the ethical burden on the buyer. However the supply chain was not constructed by the buyer. They are simply standing on the other end of it with what they could afford.

My opinion is that, some companies are just trying to satisfy everybody in any social class or just to spread their product, but It's also prevellage that some manufacturing companies always produced good and quality goods or products. There many cases where some individuals continue spending money on buying new or repairing of a perticular product for long period, which if you can investigate the majority of those issues it's all as a result of running a way from buying a quality product. And if care is not taking, at last they will end up spending on the cheaper product than what they avoid at first place. It's not surprising to have cheaper product that's good and last for a long period.

I agree that behind low prices there is usually poor quality, short lifespan, and negative social impact. But from my experiences, When I buy cheap goods not because i don't understand quality but due to limited funds, urgent needed and not enough cashflow for buying all expensive needed, so liquidity is my main consideration when buy cheap goods. Beside that i always calculate about price per use cost per lifetime per use, some goods nominally can be cheaper but it is not necessarily more efficient economically. Not all cheaps items are cheap or redflag, with efficient distribution, thin margin, promotion and large scale production expensive product can be more economically. So, low price is not automatically a bad sign, just as a high price is not automatically a good sign. Matter of fact people with unlimited fund can choose on longterm quality but people with tight cashflow usually forced to choode based on their ability to pay.

Of course, but the reality is, there are still a large number of consumers that prefers to go for cheaper items, rather than the most expensive that are far more durable. And a lot of these manufacturers clearly understands, so they have to produce them in order to satisfy the taste of those that needs them, and also allow them to make profits from them through sales. The truth is, every consumer understands the economics behind products with different price tags, and they make their decisions based on what they think is best for them, or what they can afford.

But one area I don't really fancy this, is in the medical area, where we tend to find the same drugs with different price. I feel items that are meant to safe lives should be authentic, and not replica with different prices.

Sometimes something looks cheap, but you end up paying more later. A good example is, if you buy a very cheap phone, it might start hanging or spoil quickly and before you know it you are spending money to repair it or buying another one. In the end, you have spent more than if you bought a better one from the start. Same thing with clothes or shoes. Cheap ones may look fine at first, but after a few washes or weeks, they get damaged and you have to replace them again and again. Cheap is not always a good deal. Yeah, cheap things really are deceptive. Recently, one of my wife's family members tried to sell a car they bought a year ago for a fraction of the market price. It must be admitted that cheaper goods are generally of lower quality than more expensive goods. However, that is not always absolutely true. This is a double edged sword ⚔️ afaik, what happens when the cheap things get a hike in price trying to fool people that they are quality  , people get scammed and unfortunately this stuff happens in real life !! In short expensive also doesn't mean quality, maybe the price is being absorbed by rentals of shop and this is being passed on to customers by high priced goods and services.

But again when it comes to cheap items, the only way possible is if a bulk purchase happened in trying to get a big discount that makes the cheap price possible to be passed on to consumers..

Well, and sometimes there are also products that are just as good as luxury and expensive items. Usually, these are products from new brands that aren’t widely known yet. and they typically offer low prices as an initial promotion. then, a few years later, once the brand gains popularity, that’s when the prices start to rise significantly, and the products become much more sought after. Personally, I’m someone who loves affordable items that don’t compromise on quality. And actually, you can find such products in the promotional offerings from new brands available on the market. I remember a few years ago buying an electronic device at a discounted price because it had just hit the market and was still in its promotional phase. but now the price of that item has skyrocketed. So I’m grateful I bought it back then. So cheap items aren’t always low-quality, but luxury and expensive items are undoubtedly of higher quality without a doubt.

This is actually the fact I haven't talked about on this buying of quality and inferior product, of course how we use them determines how it will last, even if you have the product the quality is extraordinary if you don't maintain it well it wouldn't last and you will began to think they gave you a wrong product. There are people who buys a product and based on how they no that the quality is very strong it makes them think no matter how they use it, it will never breakdown and even when it needs servicing they will not care to, so actually that's what kills every product faster that non quality products they're maintaining.
