With this your calculation it's even more scary to hear and see this because our monthly income is very poor here , how them can we get to 1 BTC at this point, the best thing we can do at this point is just do your best and leave the rest , because trying to get to 1 BTC when you don't even have a good leaving and strong future background,  if we trace to have 1 BTC I think we can't even get it , all we just need to do is to invest so we can get to over accumulation stage, where an investor is only allowed to sell some percentage, and not to depend and be fighting to have 1 BTC which is so much money and not easy to get.

One thing I use to tell people  is that they should  never underestimate  the power  compounding, 1 BTC may seem to be very big in monetary  but with gradual  accumulation  one can get there if the accumulation  is done consistently. however, reaching  1BTC in accumulation  should  not be the primary  aim of any investor, a good investor  already  drafted  his target  before even going  into the investment. One just need to work towards  their set target  and not stress over how much you've accumulated as income  varies, some investors  may never get to 1BTC   but that doesn't  mean they are bad investors, but it's just that their income is relatively  low to get them there  as their discretionary  income can only get them a very few sat.

I agree with you guys, there is no need to reach 1 bitcoin, you can be "rich" if you had less than bitcoin too depending on where you live. In New York 1 bitcoin put aside does not make you rich, in my town it does. So it depends on where you are, but you do not have to.

However, that doesn't mean that nobody should have that goal, I think even if you are making 100 dollars income every month, you should still end up wanting to make more and get 1 bitcoin. Sure you may fail, and that is what is expected, but that doesn't mean that you should not aim for it. Try to get 1 bitcoin and if you fail then you fail but if you achieve that's great. Having a goal and reaching that goal are different things, maybe not going to reach it, but have that goal.

You could be right but I must say that the market must not remain constant as it is currently, in essence the price may even go dipper where 50$ could fetched you a higher fraction of Bitcoin, same thing goes on the opposite and if the price increases as well the percentage we would gain from Bitcoin as fractions could be very minimal where it would be trying to stretch your investment.
Lastly, you would also consider your current holding before you can equate it to what that is left for you to know what fractions of Bitcoin left for you achieve the height needed.

~snip~

If you live in a poor country and have 50 a week extra putting all of it in BTC is not a good idea .

You need to put some into cash for emergencies..

So it is 30 or 40 bucks for btc . And 10 or 20 for emergencies.
Surely, Bitcoin isn't a short term wealth generating investment, so it would be very much unwise for folks to risk investing all of their income into Bitcoin regardless of even the kind of country one stays in (rich or poor country)... Each folks have their basic needs as well as basic responsibilities, both for themselves and every for that of their family, and they should first attend to it and then whatever extra money that is left can then go into Bitcoin... The goal here is to ensure that folks aren't forced to sell out their holding due to unsettled expenses, and that's the more reason why folks should ensure that the amount of money that goes into their Bitcoin is truly discretionary...

A target is a threshold in our investments. Everyone has a target. We all live in this world with targets, especially those aimed at bringing about financial change for the better.

In the world of investing, the ultimate goal is satisfaction, success, and enjoyment.

In Bitcoin, let's say with a nominal amount of $50, as I mentioned in the opening of this topic, we must buy regularly, hold, and reach the target. The threshold, for example, is 15 years. Based on today price, We will execute BTC purchases of $50 per week with a purchase phase of 782 weeks, achieving a total of 0.6 BTC. This way, we already know the final return on our investment, which will be 0.6 BTC or 0.5 BTC, depending on the BTC price over the next 15 years.

So, with this breakdown, we have a target, a timeframe, and know our BTC holdings at the final purchase stage. So, it's neatly organized.

So, this is just assuming a regular $50 per week.

If someone has a goal to have 1 BTC, why not?
But I agree that it isn't a must to have 1 BTC. If we have no ability to own 1 BTC, we can invest in any number of BTC. Having 0.001 BTC or 0.01 BTC is must better than having no BTC at all.

Regarding the term of rich, sure it depends on the economic level of each region. In USA, sure 1 BTC may be valued as an average wealth (or even just usual amount of money). Meanwhile in my town, it is also valued as quite a lot amount of money.

Yep. Whether we have a goal to have 1 BTC or not, it is not a big deal. What we must do is to keep invest in Bitcoin gradually. Sure, we may reach 1 BTC someday if we keep consistent to hold the Bitcoin and we aren't influenced to sell it in the bullish season. Many people failed to have 1 BTC because they take profits in each bullrun season. But it is also not a wrong decision.

Having a goal and reaching that goal are different things, maybe not going to reach it, but have that goal.
Sure, we are free to have a goal or dream. But we can't ensure to reach it. However, even we fail to reach the goal/dream, we have tried to reach it at least.

Honestly if where to calculate a year’s some people’s might take to have 1BTC a lots of investors will be discouraged from accumulating a Bitcoins, because it’s not a week or month accumulation that can lead them to have 1BTC; it gonna take so many of years before achieving that goal. But those that are financially stable will be able to get it lees than one year’s, the method of staking a Bitcoin to a network rewards can be very risks to me but it can actually boosting the Bitcoin portfolio to the highest level.
Staking Bitcoin to earn some reward should not even be an option that someone should consider; the risk is high, and it’s not better than depositing your money in the bank and waiting for the bank to reward you with a small ROI. It's better to accumulate what they can based on what they can earn and stop looking for an easy way to increase it, as that’s one way that also leads to losing that little that was accumulated.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

...
Accumulating one Bitcoin always boils down to the size of your discretionary income, because you might not be able to accumulate up to one Bitcoin even in that 32 years you proclaimed because Bitcoin prices is not stable for you to make that calculation, you might be getting a small unit of Bitcoin for $50 comparing to now, so you should not expect to get to that level within that timeframe you think off.
This is very precise and certain because it's impossible for someone to own one Bitcoin without discretionary income. I think it's natural for those who already own one Bitcoin because they have enough to meet their needs. Especially if they have more than one source of income they will certainly use their discretionary funds to accumulate so that when the time comes they can easily buy one Bitcoin. What we need to understand is that without more than one source of income it's impossible for someone to own one Bitcoin.
I cannot completely agree with you on this. It seems unrealistic as you said. You definitely do not need a lot of income sources to own a Bitcoin. Suppose you are a 20-year-old person now, if you continue to invest $200 every week, it will take you only 5 years and 10 months to buy a Bitcoin at the current price. If you invest $200 a month, it will take you a little over 25 years to reach your goal at the current price. So why do you think that you cannot own a Bitcoin without multiple sources of income.

But yes, the price of Bitcoin is volatile and fluctuates at any time, so it may take some time. The price of Bitcoin increases as well as decreases. We should continue to invest consistently. If a person can manage his financial situation properly, he will definitely be able to continue buying consistently and be able to reach his goal.

Personally, I speculate that a person who invests $200 per week into bitcoin will have pretty low odds of reaching 1 bitcoin in the next 6 years and probably even low odds of reaching 1 bitcoin within 15 years.

$200 per week invested into bitcoin is $10.4k per year, $62.4k over 6 years, $104k over 10 years, and $156k over the next 15 years.  I doubt that bitcoin is going to average at or below that price over the various mentioned timelines.

However, if anyone is able to sustainably buy bitcoin at $200 per week currently, and perhaps anticipate raising his weekly buy rate by 6% to 10% each year for the next 10-15 years, I would suspect that he would have good chances of accumulating 1 bitcoin or more in 10 to 15 years.

Sure, we cannot really know bitcoin's future prices, and surely if BTC prices go down rather than up in the near term or maybe even fail to go up as much as some of us might anticipate (such as what is expressed in my most recent fuck you status chart), then yeah it could be possible that higher levels of BTC could end up being accumulated that what I consider to be reasonable and/or feasible.

From my perspective, guys need to attempt to be reasonable in their own expectations, and surely sometimes if we are able to be aggressive in our bitcoin accumulation, we may well be able to accumulate more bitcoin than we had anticipated in the beginning and to be able to accomplish such bitcoin accumulation in a shorter period of time than we had initially expected, which truly is what happened to me in late 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, since bitcoin prices went down after I had set my accumulation goals, and bitcoin prices stayed down much longer than I had then anticipated to stay down, yet I was not exactly fixated on how many bitcoin I was going to be able to accumulate, even though I was keeping track of such based on how many dollars I was able to ongoingly put into bitcoin with the passage of time.

It seems that I had made goals for myself that were much more conservative than what had ended up playing out when the BTC prices corrected beyond my own then expectations, and probably part of the reason for being able to achieve such goals were based on ongoing persistence in accumulating bitcoin, and sometimes even making upward adjustments to the amount of bitcoin that I was going to buy based on dollars that would come available and allow for the buying of more bitcoin at various points along the way.

Based on today price, We will execute BTC purchases of $50 per week with a purchase phase of 782 weeks, achieving a total of 0.6 BTC.

Sure, we can use today's price for a starting point, yet we still need to attempt to be realistic in projections.

Maybe you could use an Excel spreadsheet (or some other kind of spreadsheet to plot out various scenarios)?

There would be some scenarios that you might hold certain things constant, and other scenarios that you would change some of the variables such as bitcoin price changes, dollar (or other fiat) value, how much you are able to invest, changes in some of your costs/income (standard of living expectations), etc.  You can have best case, worst case, base case and perhaps even other variants of scenarios.  Holding things constant is pretty retarded, even though it could be a starting point that allows you to put in all your variables and merely look at the passage of time, yet there is almost no scenarios in which the various variables would not change as you go.

This way, we already know the final return on our investment, which will be 0.6 BTC or 0.5 BTC, depending on the BTC price over the next 15 years.

Sure, the quantity of BTC accumulated would have a value, and we could not really calculate the value of the BTC without also calculating the costs per BTC, so then I suppose nominal terms of return on your investment could be made from those numbers, even though we have to also consider the debasement of the dollar (and other fiat) too.

So, with this breakdown, we have a target, a timeframe, and know our BTC holdings at the final purchase stage. So, it's neatly organized.

So, this is just assuming a regular $50 per week.

yes.. flat line $50 of BTC per week or perhaps assuming increasing the $50 per week by 4% every year.**   The first year would be $50 per week, then the second year would be $52 per week, and then the third year would be $54.08 per week, and then the fourth year would be $56.24 per week, etc etc etc.

**
For instance, we could be more aggressive and project an ability to increase our investment into bitcoin amount by 10% every year.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

Your suggestion is certainly correct. Over the next 782 weeks, or 15 years, our financial situation will likely change, whether in terms of the price of Bitcoin or the dollar. Even if our income increases year after year, our investment budget might vary from $50 to $78 per week if we can increase our budget by $2 annually.

This approach will shorten the investment timeframe, making it a good solution for those aiming to accumulate 1 BTC.

I'm a bit unsure here, will the purchase fees be a significant barrier, for example, executing BTC over 782 purchases with a $0.3 purchase fee per purchase? Is that significant enough, or would it be better to buy every two weeks or once a month?

I think those with a large amount of discretionary funds should invest in Bitcoin for the long term especially those with more sources of income. Logically it's not feasible for them to invest in the short term as they have the financial and mental strength to do so. Therefore one of the things they should do when investing in Bitcoin is to maintain a long-term approach that can provide wealth for those who invest. Long-term investment patterns.

I also think they won't do it if their needs are not met meaning they prioritize their needs before investing in Bitcoin. However I also think that it's impossible without the power to make a long-term investment because they'll definitely think about how to do it long-term. If their needs aren't met I think that's the case. It all depends on their decision. We're just providing ideas based on the topic being discussed.

I think the fee is significant for the purchase amounts you mentioned, as the fee is already very small compared to the amount spent on the purchase. However, you shouldn't look at $0.3 in fiat currency, as that might influence your thinking about buying Bitcoin. Just look at it in dollar terms. I think it's perfectly reasonable and not a significant expense. However, if you're looking to buy Bitcoin on a weekly or monthly basis, I don't think that's a bad idea, and you shouldn't hesitate to do so, especially if the capital is substantial and not too small.

Let us don't limit long term investment to only those with large amounts of discretionary income...Tbh those with small amounts too can participate, it all boils down to their level of priorities... Regardless of how small an individual discretionary income is, if that person can actually prioritize long term investment, then he/she could very well be able to squeeze out even if it small amount such as $5 or $8 for their investments... And in the long run they can then look for ways to increase their discretionary income, so they could very well be able to increase their investment amount..

Hehe.
Actually I don't need to say something like that friend. It's just that currently many parties have financial strength but don't want to invest in Bitcoin even though they are ready in every way. But how can they invest when many things are sometimes insufficient to meet their needs? What I need to ask is if they continue investing with small amounts can they afford to wait for the next few years?

One side really agrees with what you said that it is more of a priority for them but if calculated it is difficult for those who only have one source of income even though they do it with a small amount but for me they have to move to find alternative things so that they have more than what they earn now and they will be safer in investing in Bitcoin for the future especially as now they do more for lifestyle so without thinking about their future what if they don't invest from now on the point is they have to find new sensations to be able to make it easier to invest for their future more practically in having the assets they collect from now on and the current price is very supportive for increasing the number of BTC because the market situation is in a fairly drastic decline.

Who told you that an investor with only one source of discretionary income wouldn't be able to invest continuously in bitcoin with DCA an hodli for long. It's not everyone with one source of income that earns little. Some people with one source of income even earn bigger than some with multiple source of income. For example, a footballer those that graduated and working with degrees or masters.

What an investor needs to be consistent in his bitcoin accumulation and hodli overtime till he reaches his bitcoin investment is a regular discretionary income and not multiple source of income. Let's not give ourselves some difficult criterion to meet up with before we can buy bitcoin consistent and persistent when we already have regular discretionary income.

Multiple source of income is good if you can have it but that shouldn't be what will stop anyone from not buying bitcoin whenever, his discretionary income is ready from his income that's one source. Start your bitcoin investment first and you can look for other source of income as your bitcoin investment is ongoing to increase your DCA amount and be consistent with your weekly purchase for 4-10 years and above.

It is not only those that have large discretionary income that are supposed to invest in bitcoin for a long term. Even those that there discretionary income isn't large can still invest in bitcoin and hold for a long term. So holding bitcoin for a long term has nothing to do with large amounts of discretionary and it is not only those that have large discretionary income can be able to hold bitcoin for a long term
There are people that may have large discretionary income but have low risk tolerance and the patient to be able to hold bitcoin for a long term.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to "non-custodial"

I'm a bit unsure here, will the purchase fees be a significant barrier, for example, executing BTC over 782 purchases with a $0.3 purchase fee per purchase? Is that significant enough, or would it be better to buy every two weeks or once a month?

In my earlier response(s) in this thread, I wasn't referring to purchasing fees, which I consider to largely be insignificant in the whole scheme of the points that I was making earlier, even though surely it tends to be better when guys account for all of their costs (including various fees and transaction costs) when they are considering their costs per BTC and even accounting the extent to which they consider their holdings to be in profits or at a loss..

As I have mentioned in a variety of places, each of us should be able to project forward our anticipated costs per BTC over the years, our anticipated increases in our cost of living, our anticipated increased in our income and how many bitcoin we anticipate accumulating at various points down the road to also include potentially a base case scenario projection, a best case scenario projection, a worst case scenario projection and then a lot of various scenarios that project the future in between and to our own satisfaction of what each of us consider to be relevant and helpful ways of looking at our bitcoin accumulation journey, our income and/or our anticipated expenses which also likely would help us with our cashflow management, too.

I tend to think that using a spreadsheet (such a Excel) tends to be a very good way to project various scenarios into the future rather than trying to make those projections by hand (or in our heads based on passing fantasies), yet we have to use whatever tools we have available and we know how to use such tools to help us to track our progress and perhaps to help us in making goals that are realistic to our own circumstances.

One side is true but in reality those who make long-term investments are only those who have more than one income meaning that it does not mean that those with small incomes cannot make long-term investments not that but this is more of a habit because basically what is needed is only focus and consistency in making long-term investments especially Bitcoin investments with a long-term pattern not a short time but a natural process of travel so I think it is difficult for them to follow a long-term investment pattern unless they do it regardless of their needs are sufficient so that with the remaining only a little for them to do on Bitcoin investments even though it is not a problem for them to do it with a small amount but the process to reach the point they want I think is quite long.

I don't think long term Bitcoin investment depends on an investor to having more than one source of income. Having extra income might help folks invest more but it is not what decides whether they can invest for the long term. What matter the most is if having a plan that fits their financial situation. No investor should continue buying BTC at the cost of their basic needs. A long term strategy should be something you can continue with ease, not something that puts you under financial pressure

You are actually looking at multiple incomes as a mandatory long-term investment strategy, which is probably a misconception. Having multiple incomes can be convenient but not a mandatory condition for long-term investment. In my opinion, the main conditions for a long-term investment plan may be whether there is some discretionary income after meeting essential expenses, whether you can invest according to cash flow, whether you are building an emergency fund along with investments, whether you can tolerate risk and how many years you can keep it.

If someone has only one job or one business, but has some discretionary income after meeting their essential expenses, then they can feel free to start with a small amount and make decisions based on their financial situation in the long run. For example, someone may have multiple incomes, but if their essential expenses and family responsibilities are so high that they do not have any discretionary income after meeting them. Again, there are some people who have only one job, but if they can set aside even a small amount of discretionary income after meeting their expenses, then they can start with a small amount and continue it in the long run.

Reaching 1 whole unit of Bitcoin is not something that w can give the same timeline to because your level of willingness to invest huge amount of money to buy Bitcoin at a go is definitely different from that of another person and the reason make our total Bitcoin accumulation to differs and saw goes with amount of time it takes us to reach that 1BTC target even though w both use DCA approach in accumulating our Bitcoin and started at the same time a long as we are not using same amount it won't arrive same time to achieve the 1bitcoin target.

The bigger factor here is the financial capabilities of those investing in Bitcoin because it might take me a few years to be able to accumulate one BTC but for someone that is a millionaire already, it will take them just few weeks if they want to invest through DCA but for someone that have the money and want to buy Bitcoin one time it will take them just one purchase and they'll be able to own one Bitcoin. There are people that don't really DCA since they have the money already and then they are investing in Bitcoin just to secure their money and to avoid inflation if that money was to be saved in fiat currencies.

These people are not like us, they are already financially strong to withstand the corrections from the market hence they will not get triggered to sell if they see the price of Bitcoin falling which helps them make better choices and invest in Bitcoin for a longer period.
