I don't think long term Bitcoin investment depends on an investor to having more than one source of income. Having extra income might help folks invest more but it is not what decides whether they can invest for the long term. What matter the most is if having a plan that fits their financial situation.
That's the key there, whether one or more source of income for as long as they can afford to invest. That's what matters. If it's allowed and affordable by their salary whether it's with their discretionary income as what I usually said these days being said or by some side hustles, consistency is also another factor of it. No investor should continue buying BTC at the cost of their basic needs. A long term strategy should be something you can continue with ease, not something that puts you under financial pressure
Each investing that we do should be planned and should not put the other financial obligations that we have into a problem.

however, reaching 1BTC in accumulation should not be the primary aim of any investor,
Why not? I mean if they have the discretionary income to do so, then why shouldn't they? Fyi folks are at liberty to do whatever they want.. a good investor already drafted his target before even going into the investment. One just need to work towards their set target and not stress over how much you've accumulated as income varies, some investors may never get to 1BTC but that doesn't mean they are bad investors, but it's just that their income is relatively low to get them there as their discretionary income can only get them a very few sat.
It seems like a complete waste of precious time for anyone to delay their investments just because they are trying to draft a well perfect plan.. Life is so unpredictable that income can change, or things beyond our control could happen, and so one may eventually need to change that plans that they probably spent years trying to draft out... Having your discretionary income handy, is already a go ahead for folks to kickstart their investments without any delay and then as they go, they can then work out other things..

Hope you know that Bitcoin price isn't stable, so accumulating with either $50 per week might take you more than 32 years. imagine during your accumulation stage bitcoin pumped beyond $180k, so getting 1 BTC will be hard. That amount is too small to get 1btc even if you are consistent. One option I know is, if you do lump sum aggressively and incorporate with DCA by increasing your discretionary income (maybe when the level of your source of income increases). It must also be done consistently.
Some time you can invest such amount of money on BTC and start seeing the price of BTC going down, and for you to achieve such amount of 1BTC it will be more than that years. If truly you want to achieve plenty BTC to hodl, just make the amount of money you will be using to buy BTC daily or weekly to be massive, because it will help you to gather 1BTC within some months or a year. If you have other sources of income, I don't think it will be hard to get 1BTC to hodl because you know where and where to gather the money to buy BTC that will make you to achieve what you have not achieve before in the industry.

Go on. Tell us; rather than making vague assertions (and assumptions) that "it shouldn't take too long" blah blah blah.

The thing is that most of us are just ordinary investors, or just average joe. So for me, it's very hard to do that, even if you try to accomplished in one whole cycle, it can't be done. I know that we should invest what we can afford to lose or there should be discretionary funds, but sometimes life in not fair and that there will be something that will pop up to change the whole narrative that you need to withdraw some of your savings. And if it that easy, then everyone should have 1 BTC in their wallet already. But it's not the case, unfortunately.

No one can actually say the exact timeline on when does the investors would reach the target 1 BTC since this target goals also the timelines will depends on how big their discretionary income. If the investor could just spend $30 dollar well its natural that it will take for many years or decades before they could reach up their target if they didn't do any upgrades on their situation. It will never easy to reach that goal, but instead of thinking about the hardship much better if they pay attention on their accumulation then be consistent with it. Who knows in future maybe they could hit that target. But if not still its good since somehow they provably accumulate decent figures for buying Bitcoins for long time.

It is much easier to attempt to calculate shorter periods as compared with trying to calculate longer periods, and surely one of the assumptions would be that the bitcoin might n0t be able to be bought in a lump sum, so then in that regard, the purchase of bitcoin would then be spread over some period of time. So maybe we can attempt to approximate some front-loading attempt that averages out the buying of bitcoin perhaps on a weekly or monthly basis whether we are referring to 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years or some other time frame, and surely the longer the period, the more uncertainties, and the more likely that we have to presume that the BTC price, on average is going to be going up... so a decent number of guys (even participants in threads like this) are failing/refusing to account for the BTC price to go up in the coming years, and some of them seem to be presuming the BTC price is going to go down (or stay sideways) and give them some kind of a deal in the short term or even in a bitcoin average price kind of a way which seems even more fantasy to presume such things. So, yeah, anyone.. give some of these timelines and then plot it out with actual bitcoin buying dollar amounts that you consider to be in the ballpark of realistic.. . Remember earlier OP had proclaimed that $500 per week could get a whole bitcoin in less than 4 years (he said 3.5 years to be specific in his opening post), which seems absolutely nonsense (or at least low odds for happening) even if a person could buy $500 per week for 4 years (3.5 years), since that would be $26k per year and $104k after 4 years, and really are we going to presume the average price per bitcoin is going to be somewhere in the ballpark of $104k for the next 4-ish years? Sure, anything is possible, yet we should at least be trying to be somewhat realistic and perhaps error on the side of a need to be more aggressive in regards to our buying amounts rather than less aggressiveness, especially if we are projecting beliefs that we might be able to accumulate something like 1 bitcoin in such a short period of time such as 3.5 to 4-ish years with that kind of a $500 per week-ish budget.

This is a curious thread possible only in the 2020s—at the end of the first chapter of crypto history, when Bitcoin is already on the Moon, while all other cryptocurrencies remain under the pull of Earth's gravity. They talk about accumulating one Bitcoin step-by-step over the course of 30 years... Do you remember what was 30 years ago? It was not even b-money but eCash era back then. Do you imagine the crypto market in year 2056? ... And do you know what the funniest thing about this is?

There are investors that are not consistent with there bitcoin accumulation despite having enough discretionary income for that and also there are those that are using a very small percentage of there discretionary income for buying bitcoin. The issue of accumulating 1 BTC and the timeline to be able to achieve it depends on several factors and wanting to actualise it by setting a timeline may not work at times.

Well common issue with short timeline is people usually forgot that Bitcoin will not stay on one price only. If they tried to spread their accumulation over 3 - 4 years, then hey are not buying sample $30k to $40k and their average cost might provably rise since BTC trends usually grows up on multi year periods. So when they say that $500 a week will get them to 1 BTC in 3.5 years. They provably assume the price will stay at $100k in entire period. This is really an optimistic scenario. If BTC will stay at $120k - $150 most likely if they spend $500 a week they might end up getting 0.6 - 0.8 BTC in that period. This is why usually more higher weekly amounts and longer timelines might needed. Doing front loads might help, but we also need to consider that Bitcoin price appreciates over time. So I think the realistic approach is the higher their weekly budget and the longer span or time horizon, they get more higher chance to reach that 1 BTC target.

Do you imagine the crypto market in year 2056? ... And do you know what the funniest thing about this is? No one can tell what bitcoin will be like in the next thirty years but since bitcoin is still in her early stage and has already gained the trust of investors that it's a store of value and the price increases overtime due to the increase in adoption rate of the halving events. The odd of bitcoin survival and increase in value is higher than the price going downtrend because even government, some big tech companies and others has used it as their wealth reserve. This alone shows that Bitcoin has come to stay and that's why you need to start accumulating your own bitcoin for the future because Bitcoin is the best future asset anyone can think of in this our current days. Don't let doubt or fear deprive you from investing in bitcoin because the highest risk is not to take the risk and invest into bitcoin.

True talk @ultrloa Most people tend to sometimes underestimate how much bitcoin price movement can affect their accumulation. It is easy for a person to calculate that if they invest with a certain amount weekly, it will help them get to 1Btc(maybe even faster). But they fail to consider that those calculations that they are making are based on the assumption that bitcoin will remain at a fixed price for them, which may not always be the case in reality. If bitcoin happens to appreciate during their accumulation phase, there’s a high chance that the same amount of money they usually used to invest with before will gradually start to buy lesser BTC. I honestly think it is just better for folks to have realistic expectations and focus using a contribution amount that they can consistently maintain while also still having it in mind that reaching a target like 1BTC depends on the rate at which they save bitcoin and also the conditions of the market; no need to beat themselves up just because they wanna hit a particular target.

Milestone target Bitcoin stashes keep getting lower but that’s a good thing, it shows that Bitcoin is doing what it was designed to do.
People used to be proud at getting to 100 Bitcoin, then 10 Bitcoin was a good achievement. For people new to Bitcoin, 1 Bitcoin is now a big deal. Soon 0.21 Bitcoin will be something to cheer about.
Just stay humble and keep adding to your stash, you will not be disappointed in the future.

No, always stay a little skeptical and cautiou. Because sometimes it is what help you see things more objectively and neutrally, instead of letting greed or overconfidence drive your decision. Doubt and fear are not always the enemy. Sometimes, it is a reminder to do more research, take another look at the risk and avoid impulsive decision, because, as you said, nobody know what the future holds. However, do not let them turn into endless hesitation or become the reason you never get started.

Yeah those targets naturally shrink for the fact that Bitcoin became more scarce and this make Bitcoin became more valuable, also make it somehow hard to accumulate. What supposed to be 100 BTC to be accumulated before could possibly became a 10 BTC in future because of its expensive value. Also if we look at current situations now. Many people set 1 BTC as their big achievement to accumulate. But what's important here is their mindset, since its good to be consistent and continue to accumulate within their set budget. AS we saw that Bitcoin matures over time, those small accumulated amounts also carry a heavy weights. What matter now is trying to hit some big numbers instantly, its all about trying to build their position then try to sustain until it grows more in future.

Don't let doubt or fear deprive you from investing in bitcoin because the highest risk is not to take the risk and invest into bitcoin. Bitcoin can be the strongest asset (or crypto asset) of the world but when its price is not significantly undervalued relative to its fundamental value (reputation, acceptance) we can nothing to do with it. Only one relationship is important from investor perspective: the price/value ratio.DCA is profitable only for strongly undervalued assets. Not for strong assets. Not for assets with top notch reputation. Not for best assets of all the market or world. The strongest asset can be the worst investment ever when its price is already too high. The weakest asset can be the best investment ever when it is totally written off by market participants too early (its price is too low). But here the funniest thing is that nobody does not even mention the words value or undervaluation. It seems that if the asset is in the market top at the moment (like Bitcoin is) then it is a money machine now and after 30 years.... and no value calculation is necessary

That is true because as time goes by the value of Bitcoin appreciates, the market system changes, this changes alters the earlier plans in such a way that what a person planned to achieve then with an exact amount can not be enough for a person to accumulate as much as they could have accumulated before now, as the price has increased so much. But that should not stop anyone from investing and accumulating in the midst of the increase price rate because the price changes are unpredictable so buying as little as a person can when he has the money is good too, and planning budget is necessary, it will facilitate the accumulation with gradual process.

So I think the realistic approach is the higher their weekly budget and the longer span or time horizon, they get more higher chance to reach that 1 BTC target. There is nothing wrong with having desires to reach higher amounts of BTC accumulation sooner, yet there seems to be some practicality when we try to be realistic in setting our expectations so that we can over perform our expectations rather than underperforming our expectations. So even a guy who might be able to project himself accumulating $500 per week, then he might be able to anticipate that his weekly amount could end up going up or that he might get some bonuses along the way, so that it could be possible that he could reach his target based on average buys that end up going up rather than down. There might be guys who are currently able to accumulate at $250 per week, and they are anticipating being able to get their accumulation level up to $500 per week in a few years, yet at the same time, it seems less realistic that a guy starting with a budget that is currently $250 per week and anticipating getting to $500 per week after a few years would expect to get any more than 0.5 BTC after a few years, and it may take him closer to 8 years to actually reach 1 BTC. One of the great things about setting realistic expectations is that many times we will have the fortunes of outperforming our expectations, and on a personal level I would much prefer to outperform my expectations rather than facing disappointment in terms of underperforming expectations. Milestone target Bitcoin stashes keep getting lower but that’s a good thing, it shows that Bitcoin is doing what it was designed to do.

Part of the point is that you do not necessarily need to hit as "big of a number" as you might think that you have to. Sure there is no problem attempting to front load and perhaps even accumulating more and more longer than expected, but then there tends to be some period between the accumulation and the time that you might start to shave value off of the BTC that you had accumulated in the earlier years.

1) Self-Custody is a right. Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted." 2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized. 3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

I agree, this has decreased with the stash goals of many. Because before 1 BTC seems to be easy and 2 figures of it was of a great desire. But when we've seen bitcoin hitting $100k+ and that lessens it. I've already seen people targeting to hold 0.1 BTC and soon, it will be 0.01 BTC and then 0.001 BTC and so on, we get the idea of the change.

If you have invested, a mere 100 dollars per month, 1st of every single month, then this July 1st would be your 1 bitcoin reach if you started back in March of 2017. So on March 1st of 2017, you buy your first ever bitcoin, 100 dollars, and today you have 1 bitcoin. In this period, you have invested 11300 dollars of your own money, and now you have 1 full bitcoin, which is roughly around 60k, but peaked at 125k as we know.
So, it was a great investment if you did, and we are not talking about something impossible, it's literally just 100 bucks. You could have gained that much on average simply from signature campaigns too if you wanted. Or you could have invested 200 dollars instead of 100 dollars, and could have started in much later and still reached it.
