About the paths, well it seems like France and Argentina are right now the two only "solid" teams in the whole world cup and now they have a clear path towards the finals stages, but as we see we cant take anything for sure.

If you're specifically talking about my comeback, it's quite modest. Going from -200 to +700 in 2 all-ins + one x32 bet is something that happens with a normal probability. What happened with the team play is definitely abnormal - we shouldn't be in the black with that many bets and wagering.

The odds of Japan advancing are 3.10. The odds of Vinny scoring are 2.25. But if Japan advances, then this is Vinny's last game, and his goal becomes an event with a probability of 12.0! So, instead of the fair odds of 3.10 x 2.25 = 6.975, we could have gotten 3.10 x 12.0 = 37.20
37.20/6.975 = 5.333 - even taking into account the bookmaker's margin, the advantage over the fair odds was incredible.

Find the error in my reasoning immediately, there definitely must be one. Bookmakers don't make mistakes.

Yes, you're right, it's very possible. And although when a bookmaker doesn't want to combine certain outcomes, they immediately inform you of this (as in the left part of the image), sometimes the message only appears after you click "Place Bet." I've encountered this before, including today.
Damn, now I regret saving $1 lol and not placing that bet, just as proof that it was possible.

I still can't figure out what's going on with the overall statistics. Right now, 14 people are in the red and 13 are in the black, but the profits of those in the black vastly outweigh the losses. After the last round, where all the favorites won, we are in the black by $3,246!
From a statistical point of view, this is an extremely dubious result, I need to conduct an investigation.
