This is one classic example on what patience can do to us here in crypto world. This investor who invested at a pre-sale price of ETH at $0.31. And then just hold on it for the next 10 years. And as per report, that investor has move it for the first time and now it's worth $22 million.

I'm not sure if there are Ethereum investors who might have hold it for years and make a lot of money, but if you are then you are what we call diamond hands. And congrats to all of you. This could be a lesson for us, although if we hold for the next 10 years, the return might not be as big as that.

I am willing to bet that he was whale to begin with. People putting $3k to altcoin ico back then had way more in btc, and if there was no need to transfer it, there wasn't any monetary need for the money. Either that or it was a case of misplaced privatekey that finally surfaced.

And i don't see in anywhere that would have been sold, only moved, so i am confused on how is that considered to be a trade if they keep on holding?

It is only moved to other address from the picture it seems, not exactly being sent into exchanges' address. If the owner want to sell his Ethereum holding he would've sold it when ETH reached the all time high.
Maybe the owner moved his coin to other address because he is afraid of the recent news about old addresses getting exploited and just in case which is very logical.

Well that trader, a hodler and maximalist combined. I know that altseason isnt here just yet or we never get another altseason but one thing for sure tha Ethereum is sleeping in price and I dont know what the real reason is, I mean if we take a look TRX or BNB these coin already hit all time high and stay for long even tho both of them hits by correction.

But ETH just take a look its become a stablecoin and sideways around 2K only. But good for the user on the news tho. In the long run like 10 years maybe ETH is going neither plumet from current price or as high as hundred of dollar like bitcoin

Yeah owner didn't sell like i pointed out already, but your logic on the possible selling motive in ATH doesn't track. How would that owner would know to sell when it's ATH? Literally no one knows when new ATH is, or if it even comes back. Saying that someone would sell in ath, would imply that seller would know that it's not going up more.

Also last ATH was in 2021, and it didn't make new ATH in this altcoin bullrun. This could be high as it ever gets for all we know, if gas of ETH gets cheap enough, that means less demand for it as a tool.

Reason for moving is likely security, that i agree with, or plan to do something with them soon.

Omg, this seems half-true. 

Because if it's called a sideways movement, it's been quite a long time for ETH to experience a sideways movement. Since the beginning of the year, ETH's price has indeed been hovering between $2.1k and $2.3k. But at least that's better than when ETH dropped to $1.8k.

There was bubble in crypto market that time and it's one of the early project I will say many were lucky to have made. There are more than thousands of related Ethereum projects that many people has done the same and they didn't make it. Some were launch through Binance IEO, I checked some of this projects today and they are nothing but complete failure that if some people can go back in time, I'm very sure they will not try to hold again.

This same person might be worth $44m last year but Ethereum has become unstable and that's bad. Bitcoin dump but the way Ethereum dump to the market want to make you wonder of people don't believe in it any more because yesterday there was even a news that the foundation was selling some Ethereum, this behavior is killing the trust of people, this is why many people don't believe if it will ever cross $10k or more as Bitcoin moves to all time high.

The hype and momentum that Ethereum has been getting lately is not that convincing enough to see it up as a token worth speculating on for a particular all time high. The growth has been very inconsistent with many not really showing much interest in it as before. As seen as the toppest of all altcoins, its movement recently hasn’t been that convincing enough and many are already not even having that hope on it and its subordinates currencies that were coin out from it and uses same blockchain as it does. The Ethereum investor’s growth may look big and has improved significantly, but it could really have grown past this if the market has been growing rapidly and progressively as bitcoin does over the past few years.

From $0.31 to current price of $2.3k seems a very good return but when ethereum peaked in BTC value then converting all those ethereum holding into bitcoin might have multiplied this return into greater levels. But, from an ethereum believer's perspective, we cannot judge their trust on bitcoin's future. Deciding into a altcoin's ICO must need lots of courage and knowledge along with risking taking appetite and if your knowledge  finds right investment then this kind of returns are possible given that you patiently wait for years.

What if would have invested into bitcoin when it was $0.31 and holding it now. I know many people might have got chances to invest into bitcoin for lesser than $1000 but not holding till now. So, lots of factors involved for bigger returns which is the reason why it is not feasible for most people including myself.

Holding them is not a profit but a complete loss. Most altcoins have the potential to become a shitcoin in the long term, except for the coins at the top of the list.

Imagine the taxes you have to pay for that lol. On most countries the tax would essentialy be at 40% meaning he would only keep around 11-12 mil xD.

Congratulations to the Ethereum holder for believing in the potential of the coin to give him profit after 10 years and it happened, he should enjoy his profit. Aside from Bitcoin I'm quite skeptical about altcoins, I'm not even talking about the many shitcoins that are flooding the market, what I mean are top altcoins which doesn't have the market cap and potentials like Bitcoin. Except for Ethereum and a few altcoins the rest are not worth talking about holding for many years because they will die sooner than you expect.

Investors in Ethereum shouldn't invest in it with the amount that is beyond what they can afford to loose because they heard about a guy that made so much profit after 10 years. There is no guarantee that the same thing will happen again in the next 10 years so we should invest wisely in altcoins with what we can afford to loose.

Similarly, there are still some altcoin worth holding long term that will yield huge returns in the future. However, finding them is not an easy task.


Therefore, only those who are willing to accept high risk should try them. Otherwise, it is better to focus on Bitcoin for safety. However, do not expect to make huge profit and become rich by investing in bitcoin.
