He wasn't referring to the growth or proce of Bitcoin but Bitcoin investment rather, maybe you didn't understand his point. What the OP is trying to say is that investors don't need to be too fast in accumulation to achieve their goal but can accumulate gradually but consistently and still achieve their goals and I think he's right.

However, you don't really need to pressured your self when you can conveniently be accumulating Bitcoin from time to time to your Bitcoin portfolio without stress or whatever through the DCA method. Furthermore, you can be accumulating very slowly (according to your financial strength) but steady which is a goal mark to you as on your side than someone that go wild without evaluating his financial capability before investing because he wanted to prove a point, and by doing so failed to put in place the required funds to backup his investment for the time of challenges and unexpected matters that may arise.
