When I was in university, I was never interested in just a single subject, but rather in the intersection of different fields that fascinated me. As a result, I got into cross-functional research, applying approaches and methods from one discipline to another domain. And it was wonderful!

Later on, my career took many different turns: I worked in academia, content, linguistic research, and eventually crypto. Now, I am getting closer to framing all my skills into a unified role. I can say it’s truly inspiring, because diverse experience gives you the opportunity to master different skills and become a genuinely unique specialist. I’m not quite there yet, but I am actively striving for it. And I agree that being the best in a specific niche is the path to independence.

Upskilling is a must in this highly-competitive era. Especially with AI threatening to take most of our jobs. We need to learn skills that would help us stay one step ahead of the game. When you learn new things, your brain grows. But many people these days prefer AI to do everything, putting our society at risk in the long run.

There will be more "dumb" and "lazy" people than you can ever imagine. Knowledgeable ones will be truly-scarce in the future. Work smarter (not harder), and nothing will stop you from achieving your financial dreams.

Hard work certainly still guarantees wealth, for example, if I work hard and by working hard I can establish a good business, then of course I can become wealthy, but when I work in another business, if I work hard, I will get some salary increase, but still I can become somewhat wealthy, but I should always work hard at my job because if I can work hard at my job, then of course we will get the benefits of that hard work.
In case you didn't know, business is a very risky endeavor. Who told you it guarantees wealth? What made you think that?

Let me give you a recent example of how people became hostages of their own circumstances.

I am from Russia. We are at war. Thousands of sellers had launched businesses and started selling goods on online marketplaces. When Ukraine began attacking warehouses, the stock burned to the ground. Hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs lost their businesses overnight—and many of them had taken out massive loans to start those ventures. Did they get rich? No; they lost their businesses, their money, and any ability to repay their loans. What are they supposed to do now? Their lives are ruined, as they will be spending the rest of their days paying off banks.

To explore new domains, learn fresh aspects, and master new skills, you shouldn't be afraid of working hard. If you stay put in one position, strictly fulfilling the routine duties of a single role, multi-directional growth is impossible. You will inevitably need to branch out and look for other opportunities. All of this demands time and effort, meaning work will naturally consume a significant portion of your life, requiring consistent, dedicated hard work. Naturally, if you work smart alongside working hard, your chances of becoming a unique, highly sought-after specialist, with the financial rewards to match, will skyrocket.

That really sad, to hear a story like this. War is one thing that brings down the economic growth of every country, being it personal establishment or the whole nation. Every business has it side effects, there are people who have lost their business today due to Containers lost on the ship, cargos damage on plane crash, fire hazard and so more.

Hard work doesn’t guarantee wealth, working hard will only put you in a average status in your economy, when you look at the richest people ruling the world today, these people are innovative thinkers, smart thinkers. So in the world we leave today work smart beats hard work.

But to succeed today, it very important to join the both, if you can work hard and think smart as well, then you will be unstoppable in the business world today.

All humans have  the right to choose what they want, some at times depends heavily on hardwork for survival without knowing with or without constant hardwork without smartness is completely zero. To survive in live we must learn how to combine the benefits of hardwork and smartness as that is the only thing required for survival.  Although apart from hardwork and smartness there are other factors also required for survival and the introduction of all is the only reason some appears above others
Success will come with hard work and at the same time the right intelligence. Both are equally necessary, if one is missing here, it is a weakness for you and there you will lag behind the rest. Reality is difficult and achieving success is not easy, you have to go through difficult tests in everything, and hard work alone will not help you in all those places. You have to solve all the problems through the use of your own intelligence, and so hard work, intelligence, everything is necessary, when you maintain a good balance in everything, only then you will be able to move forward in a better way for success.

Yes you really need to put those two together to succeed, hard work without intelligence will only keep you working hard for nothing, while intelligence with laziness can only make you look like a stagnant water that has no movement, so you need to put those two together to achieve success, like most people will say, hard work doesn't guarantee you a success, how can a hard work guarantee you a success when you only work hard without reasoning, there are different ways you can work hard and achieve success, but in those different ways, if you only work hard without intelligence then I can tell you will continue working hard for the rest of your life and have that same mentality that hard work doesn't pay off, but if you work with both then I can also assure you that your success is rest assured.

It is not just a sad situation; it brings tears to one’s eyes to witness so many deaths and ruined lives. The maniacs in power have no intention of stopping.

I have only touched upon one aspect of the business side of things; there is another side as well. Take, for instance, the fuel crisis that has emerged in my country following drone strikes on oil refineries. How will this affect ordinary people? Insane queues—seemingly endless—have already formed at gas stations. That is something one might somehow come to terms with, but logistics are already faltering. Where will this lead? To a sharp rise in the cost of all goods and services—in some cases, prices could even multiply several times over. Survival will become even harder. Meanwhile, inflation is rampant, and the country's economic situation is deteriorating noticeably. Some political analysts even say the state is on the verge of collapse.

A couple of decades ago, we lived by the saying; "hard work ensure success".
In recent times, that is however not the case, as the whole system is evolving.

One can consider working for more hours as hard work, consider that with the wages on display currently as in most cases wages don't match the level of work, and the drastic economic situations, expenses are sure outweighing incomes from wages.

Hard work can lead to productivity and productivity can lead to more income for owners, not workers, as workers may be compensated with just a little pay rise. This then leads to my point, wealth comes from ownership of assets; such as businesses, real estate and even stocks, and not necessarily by hard work, systems are changing, and ownership income is increasing.

Hard work gets you there for sure, but it's no longer enough, ownership is the wealth engine!

It is absolutely true that hard and persistent work cannot guarantee wealth in the future, but it can guarantee something else. Such honest, hard work can guarantee to an employee that their earnings are completely legal, and they will never have any problems with the law; they will always know that they are in the clear before the government, unlike those who do not want to live honestly and want to earn big money through some wrong means.

We just worked hard but if we don't use any intelligence, we will be in the wrong. Hard work is important and at the same time it has to be done in the right place. However, there is a difference between income and wealth. Even if you work hard and get a salary after years, you may not be wealthy. Because salary is basically active income, but in most cases wealth is created from assets, business ownership, property, investments and long-term savings. An employee earns by selling his time, but a business or asset owner can also get income from his capital and system.

An employee earns by selling his time, but a business or asset owner can also get income from his capital and system.

That's a solid point, and the best opportunities are usually found in developed countries where hard work actually translates into good pay. In developing countries, it's not that simple you can work demanding jobs and still get paid far less than what you deserve, while the economy keeps getting tougher every day.

Because of this, acquiring high-value skills and looking for remote jobs in stronger markets while living in your home country is a game changer. It allows you to earn in a stronger currency, which really helps relieve the financial strain in difficult economic situations.

Hard work is necessary, but it is not just hard work that will create wealth. Apart from how much we are working, the main thing is where, how and for what purpose we are working, how effective and feasible the place where we are working is. If you work in the wrong place, you will not get the desired results even after years of hard work, but if the work is done in the right place, then it can give you something greater than your expectations. So it is necessary to be honest, to be intelligent, you cannot think of yourself as being too smart, but you have to be realistic. When you are good in all aspects, then the possibility of success will be in your favor.

Because of this, acquiring high-value skills and looking for remote jobs in stronger markets while living in your home country is a game changer. It allows you to earn in a stronger currency, which really helps relieve the financial strain in difficult economic situations.

I agree, this is exactly what I am trying to do, for example. But the problem here is that you are competing with those who apply for the same job having much better starting conditions. And it is more profitable for an employer to hire a citizen of a country with a strong rule of law, where tax requirements are clear and labor legislation is well-developed. Rather than someone from the third world, with whom there can be far more legal complications. It is very sad and disappointing, and I myself suffer from this constantly, but it is a fact that cannot be ignored. And that is why the only way to win this competition is by being ready to work for a lower salary.

A couple of decades ago, we lived by the saying; "hard work ensure success".
In recent times, that is however not the case, as the whole system is evolving.
I don't think even the "past decade ago" you mentioned honors this statement. Hard work can only take you far, but what get's you there—being wealthy—are luck, and working smart. What i feel actually evolved is the awareness and acceptance of this fact.

But you know, I'd change the wording from "hard work" to "diligent work". When you're diligent and disciplined, i think it will take you farther. A diligent worker has vision and purpose, they have what they're chasing with a clear goal. A diligent worker is always working hard, that's why it is often viewed the same.

You're right , if we're comparing quick money syndrome and hard work, but in this scenario working hard in this era is as the olden these where you have you be paying transport to work and be overworking yourself,  you have have to work smart and make good money from your home,  without stress. Working hard can make you live a comfortable life but it can't make your wealth,  I'm using civil servants as a case study,  they work every day, yet they only live a comfortable life for their family. Comparing them to Ai engineers and other tech guys that are not into fraud are Making on  a daily basis you will agree with me that hardwork doesn't make one wealth but smart work does.

I think just hard work will not suffice, it is important but being smart about your work is also important.

You have to be smart how you manage your connections you time and then you will see productivity going up. But this is difficult in the initial phase of life.

And wealth is not always going to be linked to work. Salary is part of the wealth but if investments, spending are not kept in proper lines, wealth will never grow. Invest in the proper places, proper assets and see yourself going upwards in life.
Yes working smart should always be the best way to navigate in the society today, working hard is good nevertheless but what makes it more productive is working smart this gives you an edge above others while seeking opportunities around your environment.

You can be working hard and your output is very little but the moment you switch to working smart you start positioning yourself to better opportunities in this way you are selective and getting the best deals that suit you rather than just putting in hard work with low output.

The people who are smart workers are successful in all fields, as they know how to get more output, which is most important for us.  Many people are doing hard work, but they are not successful because they are wasting most of the time on useless things. If you prepare for any exam, you should not cram all books; you should focus on the areas from which examiner is picking the questions, prepare them and revise them many times, which will give you success. If you are giving all your time to your business, you are on the wrong path because you should give time to your health, which is most important because that will increase your efficiency; otherwise your output could go down. The people who are more hard worker they are failure in the real life.
You need to read all what the teacher teaches because you don't know where the questions will come from unless he gave a specific area of concentration before you can only read in the area he specified.

Hard work still covers it all not the one of digging the soil to just to survive, if you are smart it means you worked hard for it you don't just stay and become smart you might have under go some discipline, most wealthy people on earth today worked hard to make that money if they didn't work hard and applied wisdom they wouldn't have been successful you can't be lazy and be wealthy, although now the world is advancing and technology is improving smart people with good idea are also becoming wealthy with out much stress.

Being someone who's working smart have somewhere to start with and that's by working hard. They'll know the process, the ups and downs of working hard until they realize why the rich have became rich. It's both needed, to work smart and hard. There's no shortcut to this process and even if you choose to work smart, you'll still need a way to get there and that's only through working hard in the beginning.

Just working smart isnt gonna do it either. To build real wealth, you need both, along with a lot of other thing.

AI engineers and people earning high incomes in the tech industry are not just working smart. They are often working much harder than many other people as well.  They have to keep learning, keep up with new thing and spend a lot of time improving their skill. If you have ever watched interviews with Elon, you probably know he has said he works 16-18 hours a day, not just 8 or 6 like most of us.

It could say successful people do not rely on working smart alone. IMO, working smart and working hard are both important, and they work together. One can't really replace the other.

To be honest, hard work alone does not always guarantee a change in one's fortune; sometimes, intelligence and the application of the right knowledge can achieve the same result. Have you noticed how many tasks have become easier since the advent of AI? In the past, many people worked as call center operators, but they lost their jobs due to technological advancements—even though they used to work very hard. Ultimately, they lost their employment because technology simplified the very tasks they performed.

Previously, one had to visit a bank to withdraw or deposit money. Nowadays, however, a physical visit is often unnecessary thanks to credit cards, mobile banking, and other modern conveniences. Fundamentally, people prefer whatever makes a task easier.

What cannot be achieved through hard work alone might be possible through intelligence and the right knowledge. Similarly, becoming wealthy does not necessarily require excessive physical toil; if one applies knowledge and intelligence correctly at the right time, accumulating wealth becomes possible.

Intelligence and hard work, both are necessary, one without the other will not be fully effective. If we keep this intelligence and hard work separately, then if you only have intelligence but if you do not work hard, then you will not get good results, and similarly if you only work hard but if you do not have any intelligence, then you will not get any good results. But when you have these two in you, then you will not need much time to get to a good position, rather you will be able to create a very good position anywhere very quickly through them. Every successful person has reached this stage through the use of a lot of hard work and intelligence before coming to this successful situation of his own. There is no shortcut to success, everything has to be achieved from the beginning.
