Inflation in the economy is what is making it look as if people are lazy as their efforts is not showing due to high cost of living and most people barely survive now, house rents has gone up, fuel, electricity bills, prices of gas etc. Whenever fuel price goes up it automatically makes things difficult because everyone deals with fuel directly or indirectly and because business men and marketers buy goods and transport them to their locations and there is fuel increment they quickly increase price in their commodities to meet up with the demands too.

I have carefully sat and realized one can't survive the hardship in Nigeria currently without having multiple source of income because if anyone depends on salaries it won't be enough to survive with the way the prices of goods and other things are skyrocketing on daily basis. In all we do we should keep faith alive and keep hustling hoping for a better Nigeria someday.

The truth is a lot of Nigerians are working harder than ever but it’s just that the result doesn’t match the effort so it’s not as if Nigerians are lazy. We all know that hardwork pays but with the rise in prices, unstable income and insecurity, it makes it harder for people to even maintain what they already have not to talk of progressing. When someone shuffles three to four jobs at a time, are u still saying such person is lazy? That’s not laziness but survival mode. The way forward is not just by one simple solution, they’re first need to be better security, more stable policy and a society where even small businesses can grow. At the same time people are already adapting to learning skills, doing multiple jobs but that alone can’t fix the structural problems we are facing. If nothing changes at the top, people will keep struggling no matter how hard they work but also folding our hands  completely won’t help solve the problem as well. There as to be a real reform couple with resilience because without this, things will keep getting tougher.

That better Nigeria we talked about is what i don't think can come back to reality anytime soon because what i see in Nigeria now is difficult for that dream to come to reality. One main reason behind the hardship in Nigeria now is bad governance,  not that Nigeria lack the resources to bring a balance economy for Nigeria but because we lack leaders that can help convert the resources to useful product which is why Nigeria is still backward the way it is now. My broda, as in the way this our economy be, even you as a hustler some point go dey wey be say you will feel like you are not trying enough at all, because money wey we dey earn no fit solve our daily problems, your problems fit be the 10x of what you are earning, for this country you go first think about stomach before you reason how to look good, and with this current economy an em our government also Dey reason say the youths are very lazy.

Your last paragraph is just so funny that I can relate very well, " if you decide to be lazy it's on you"  and that's literally the truth, as a Youth if you don't want to engage in menial jobs or get a skill you are going to suffer and it's you, the government don't care about it's citizens and it's left for us as Youths to navigate our way out of poverty by learning skills and engaging in Jobs that will be a source of income for us so we can survive the hardship in the economy.  The government won't help us by giving us jobs because they just want to be using us for elections and those who doesn't have sense keeps allowing themselves to be used.

What is causing the hardship is the rise in cost of fuel and that's the problem we are having as a country if fuel can be refine here without the government exporting it abroad to be refined, it will do us more good because once fuel price reduces the cost of everything virtually reduces too, we should try to have multiple streams of income so we can survive.
