Is Bitcoin still basically the only bird in the world in 2050 ?

I bet that there will be much more than one Bitcoin-like more than trillion usd (in usd nowadays purchasing power) and countless number of medium sized (but still felt like real assets - just as medium sized stocks/companies today) cryptocurrencies in the two decades horizon. The version next probable is that crypto disappears. The last probable version is that there will be basically only one crypto (Bitcoin or some other).

It is not easy to remain alive long run when you are the only specimen from your species.
Is anyone here who feels the same way ?

Just accept it this way as it is that bitcoin has come to stay, you cannot also compare it with other cryptocurrencies because of their different purpose they were being created, for now we cannot say there will be any other to stand in gap of crypto or Bitcoin in particular, even if we are to wait 100 years to come we don't know what may be, but by what we have already on ground, Bitcoin has come to stay, for now I don't think there is any possible project that is what the standard or more than what bitcoin has been creating ever since it's invention to this day.

Scrypt/Doge is the only pow algo that compares in fact due to the endlessly decreasing rate of doge coins it should last longer than btc.


So I think scrypt cap will be pretty big in 2050 along with btc.

Money tends to flow to whatever is on top.  Bitcoin stands out as it has this incredible network effect and real decentralization, which are things you simply cannot recreate just by starting another crypto coin.  Remember how people talked ten years back, saying we would end up with countless mid-sized cryptocurrencies?  Well, most of those "assets" are basically worthless today.

If you look at crypto history, its pretty clear: most projects either get absorbed by the big players at the top or they just vanish for good.  There is no real middle ground, no "medium size".  Something either earns enough trust to be a solid place to put your money, or its just a risky project that could easily fall apart.

What I know is that bitcoin will retain its dominance, but stable coins can take the second position at the time because ethereum will see competitors and some coins on top 10 will be replaced from time to time, only bitcoin will remain in the first position by 2050. There will always still be crypto, but they will remain what they are now which makes people call them gambling. Although I think some coins would worth trillion dollars by 2050 if bitcoin can get to $15 to $20 trillion at the time.

Developers are too greedy and selfish to create something which will attract that kind of massive cap enough to bring down Bitcoin. At least for the moment we don't know what will happen in 2 decades from now; there is a high chance something new with promising innovations can come in, which is welcome. With the way Bitcoin adoption keeps growing every year, it is very possible that other strong coins will also rise and become big over time. Just like in real life, one company doesn’t dominate forever, look at tech, we have multiple big players, not just one. Bitcoin might remain the biggest and most trusted, but it is hard to believe it will be the only one by 2050. There will likely be other solid projects solving different problems and gaining value alongside it.

I think Bitcoin will retain its top spot, but stablecoins could fall to second place as new competitors emerge to challenge Ethereum. Some of the top 10 coins will change from time to time, but Bitcoin will be the only one that will hold the top spot by 2050. While cryptocurrencies will remain, they will remain as they are today, which many would call a ‘gamble’. However, I think some coins could cross the trillion dollar milestone by 2050, if Bitcoin reaches a market cap of $15 to $20 trillion.

It will probably be like now. Bitcoin is at the top, dominating 50% or more of the entire crypto market cap, most likely higher than 50% considering its growing adoption among global wealth managers, banks, and even companies outside the financial sector.

I can't imagine another Bitcoin-like cryptocurrency. I'm even surprised there are those who think there'd be "2-9 Bitcoin-like more than trillion USD market cap cryptos" in the next 24 years. For the past 17 years, there wasn't a single crypto that was Bitcoin-like, in terms of size, dominance, adoption, and so on. In terms of decentralization alone, there might not be another one.

But I believe the likes of Ethereum and stablecoins will remain huge players in the market.

Cryptocurrency has come to stay, and Bitcoin cannot be the only cryptocurrency in existence going forward. Your projected 2050 is also nearer than you think. However, just as it's happening now where some crypto projects has have gone extinct, while many others are remaining, and many new projects would be created still; that's exactly what would happen.

I even predict the creation of more valuable crypto projects in the future that many people would be more interested in. We hardly see such projects these days, but that time will still come.

All it's value and nature can't be duplicated by other cryptos that we have right now. And even if we had that or they say that they are better, faster, they still didn't get the consensus support of the community.

So it's hard to imagine a crypto that will suddenly burst of the scene and then becoming what Bitcoin is right now. Bitcoin is too big too fall.

Whatever you think is good is really good because Bitcoin is capable of it, due to which we can see Bitcoin in a big price in the future. I myself do not think that any other coin will grow compared to Bitcoin because when one is on the rise, others are on the decline and if any other coin also comes to compete with it, then there can be a lot of confusion in the crypto market because we all know that Altcoins move themselves by being influenced by Bitcoin and if the other coin also does the same, then the prices will increase and decrease badly in the market. I also think that if someone wants to become Bitcoin, he will have to face many things for that and in fact Bitcoin has fallen but the way it is increasing its price at the moment is quite good in the market and it will become even more better.

Let’s just hope we’re still alive in 2050, because if we are, we’ll see the realization of what we’ve been imagining all this time. Unexpected things might also happen—just don’t shake your head in disbelief.

Over the next year, many new types of cryptocurrencies may emerge, increasing their numbers and leaving people even more confused about which one to choose. When you find yourself at a crossroads, go back to the basics—and the basics are Bitcoin.
In terms of coin rankings, Bitcoin will still hold the number 1 spot, but I can’t say whether cryptocurrencies will disappear—though in my mind, only stablecoins will remain in second place alongside Bitcoin.

We do not know for sure what will happen in 2050. But we see that currently, many cryptocurrencies are emerging and being traded in the market. However, after quite some time, they eventually experience a decline and ultimately become worthless.
I think in that year, Bitcoin will still be the only one at the top. But even if there are others, they might be stablecoin assets that come next. In any case, several possibilities can happen over such a long period of time.

2050 is a long year that we can't say what will become of Bitcoin and other coins. One thing that I know is that, Bitcoin is not going anywhere. Get me right Op, bitcoin isn't going to bear another bitcoin but if by means a crypto currency is going to break out of bitcoin, it'll stand on it own possession and rhat currency will be not more than the SATOSHI (SATs) which we know to be fractions of bitcoin when it's measured in a lower value that isn't up to sum 1 Btc with the concept that the total supply is 21 million.
With the current ongoing of bitcoin gaining more values and as adoption keep soaring, speculations has also been going on that when it reaches a max in the future (IF AT ALL) Satoshi will MAY BE the next in trend as bitcoin species.
But to get it clearer, if we're talking about species, don't think bitcoin is all alone in the space because we still have other existing crypto currency with are the AltCoins which all are tied in the cryptography and blockchain with same  decentralized concepts as bitcoin.

Bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies. I doubt anyone will ever come close to it. If someone were to compete and beat it, I think it would gain even more popularity and its value would increase even more.
There has never been a cryptocurrency that is as decentralized and has a fixed total supply as Bitcoin, meaning that no one has sole control over it. These two factors are why Bitcoin is so popular and its value has increased so much and is likely to increase hundreds of times in the future.

This is a Bitcoin forum and naturally we will want to see Bitcoin at the top and outlive all of us which is what I also want but the reality is that 2050 is in the next 23 to 24 years which is quite far and anything can happen before then. But for the foreseeable future I don't see any cryptocurrency that can rival Bitcoin, it's market cap and network are way beyond what any cryptocurrency can rival but we don't know in the far future maybe innovation make us see something bigger than Bitcoin.

I don't see why we should worry about a rival for Bitcoin, what we can worry is about Bitcoin losing it's value like dumping to $10 and not having the potential to recover again. If a rival somehow emerges inasmuch as it is competing with Bitcoin at the top then I wouldn't mind the competition. But for the cryptocurrencies that are available in the market now I don't think that they can come near Bitcoin.

When you talks about 2050 you should know that we have limited years and it is not above 24 years time to come and I strongly believe that Bitcoin would definitely be the only surviving digital assets apart from Gold that has been in existence for centuries now wouldn't be that easily eliminated or delisted from the market in order for other projects to talk over. I still remember back then that whenever the Bear market comes not all currently that always follows the directions to bounce back again to their initial prices and anyone who invested in such coins is either facing more loses because the market wouldn't be that able to sustain coin that are not productive or even have prospects and utilities. Therefore, I believe that before then we could have bitcon increased to the level that we can't really comprehend or where it would be that hard for an ordinary person to freely accumulate Bitcoin when the price might have gone higher than expected.

The fact still remains that you can’t fight what you can’t beat and bitcoin has proven beyond all reasonable doubts that it has come to stay and no any other coin stand a a chance to come close to it and to even be seen as a competitor to it. We can’t deny that in some years to come, maybe decades to come, as technology advances, we may see new innovations that will be out to want to beat the idea of bitcoin entirely but for now, we can’t smell anything of such and could go all long to the next decades before we can get to see something like that. Any technology that could stand as a competitor against bitcoin is not something that can be coined out of the blue moon, it needs the best ideas possible to beat the reach (bitcoin).
