However, the 1.18 odds are really low, there is no value. So I will not bet directly on a 1x2 win. It is more profitable to bet on France -1.5 handicap or on Mbappe scoring any goal at any time. Stake $100 on France -1.5 at odds ~1.75, If France wins 2-0 or better, I will get $175 back, profit $75  Cool. And Paraguay also has the possibility of stealing a goal on the counter although the chance is very low.

Your logic behind avoiding 1X2 market due to low odds was factual. However actual result of this match reminded me once again that taking a handicap on hot favorite team does not always give good value.

France did win but after Paraguay defended brilliantly for 70 minute, France only managed to win the match by 1-0 on penalty goal from Mbappe. So they could not even come close to -1.5 handicap. In my opinion calculation of knockout football is completely different. In this World Cup favorite teams are more focused on getting through the match by any means possible than winning by a big margin

And don't forget, Mbappé First Goalscorer is boosted to 8.18 on Kikabet if you're backing Les Bleus to start fast 🚀
It's too late to know these odds and I didn't check back the bets and promos after betting but it doesn't really matter because there are still some wins I can get in this match.

One thing is for sure overconfidence sometimes provides conditions that we cannot avoid. I wanted to try to be in the over 3 actually but seeing how Paraguay's defense has been since the last 32 when facing Germany it didn't seem too easy so I would have preferred to be in the under 2.5 but the result is certainly much better because if I impose being in the over 3 in this match then the result might be difficult for me to control.

Kickoff in less than an hour, Paraguay 🇵🇾 vs France 🇫🇷 is almost here!
France heavy favourites at 1.18, Paraguay a massive 17.00 to cause the upset ; Draw sitting at 6.80.
To qualify odds also live : Paraguay 9.20 | France 1.06.

What's your read on this one? Think Paraguay can hold on or does France cruise through?

And don't forget, Mbappé First Goalscorer is boosted to 8.18 on Kikabet if you're backing Les Bleus to start fast 🚀

Match already started, France should win this match easily. Although Paraguay is a fighting team but the difference in quality between the two teams is skyhigh. It is expected that France will hold position from the beginning and create chances. And the reason for such confidence is that Mbappe is in full form now.

Great breakdown and spot on about the 1x2 value , 1.18 is basically a coin flip payout for a near-certain outcome, handicap is definitely the smarter play there.
But mate, you missed the big one 👀 We had Mbappé First Goalscorer boosted to 8.18 (from 2.04) live on Kikabet before kickoff.
That's exactly the bet you were describing ; and at 8.18 on $100 that's $818 back instead of hunting for value elsewhere.
Keep an eye on our Bitcointalk thread and social pages before every big game ; we drop these boosts regularly and they go fast. Next one could be even better 🔥

"Mbappe First Goalscoring boost to 8.18" against Paraguay was a real hit.
I expected France to win against Paraguay, but I didn't expect it to be such a tough fight. The Paraguayans really provoked the French, and I'm surprised there weren't more yellow and even red cards in this match.
Anyway, France advanced to the quarterfinals and are getting closer to the title, with Mbappé scoring the only goal of the match.
Congratulations to everyone who used the odds boost!

I generally bet for the underdogs, as long as I don't have any emotional preference for either team. But in the case of Brazil, it is a team for which I have had a clear inclination since I was a child, so in the first of the matches I would choose that they will win.

In the second case, of Mexico against England, I would follow the preference I have mentioned and bet for Mexico, or, perhaps, for a draw. I know the odds are lower, but this is how betting is more fun for me, expecting the unexpected.

As for Brazil, there's no doubt in anyone's mind that they're the clear favorites in this match. Of course, there's a chance Haaland will have the game of his life and Norway will miraculously win on penalties, but that's truly highly unlikely.

Regarding the England-Mexico match, I must admit I understand your support for the underdogs. However, in this match, I think Mexico has a pretty good chance. England isn't the team they once were. While Harry Kane is playing brilliantly, it's the potential of the entire team that matters more. And the Mexican team is, in my opinion, better coordinated. I think Mexico has a good chance of pulling off a surprise.

Congratulations to everyone who used the odds boost!
In the Argentina vs. Cape Verde match, we saw Messi score the first goal... and then yesterday, Mbappé also turned out to be the first and only goal scorer in the France vs. Paraguay match.

I regret not taking that risk. I thought Dembélé would score the first goal. But well, congratulations to those lucky enough to have taken that chance and believed Mbappé would score. And it actually happened.

Today, in the Brazil vs. Norway match, there’s another opportunity: the chance to bet on whether Vini Jr. will score the first goal of the match. Although I think it’s more likely to be Haaland or someone else, there’s no harm in giving it another try if anyone wants to.

I predict that Brazil will beat Norway and Haaland will have a bad match. In the match with Ivory Coast, Haaland played very bad before he scored a winning goal for Norway. It's an easy goal for Haaland and even lucky too because his first touch was not too good and the Ivory Coast goalkeeper nearly could save that.

Haaland will have to face directly with Gabriel who already understood Haaland very well after many matches between Manchester City and Arsenal. I also believe that Carlo Ancelotti will make a system which can block Haaland and control likely more than 50% of Norway attacking power. With Brazil, they have many star players who can score goals while with Norway, they don't have this ability.

This difference between two teams makes me thinking about Brazil as a winner.

Alright guys!

I missed the boost on Mbappe, so we'll try to bet on Vini Smiley

Brazil should beat Norway, but it heavily depends on Haaland's availability.

Fingers crossed Smiley

As per checking, there's no goal yet. The match is now on 50' and then no goals yet, so therefore it's still possible to see this bet win.

Good luck on this bet Andy, hoping this will be a sweet victory. That would be quite some of a money for winning this first goal.

I guess everyone would be looking for the first goals on the next matches.

It's goalless so far. The second half is just starting.
But there have already been two chances here that would have ruined my bet.
Early in the match, Norway's goal was canceled due to offside, and later, Bruno Guimarães missed a penalty for Brazil.
So there is still chance.  Cool

👇 Who's your pick 👇 ?
✅ Brazil 1.82 | Draw 3.70 | Norway 4.30
✅ Mexico 3.10 | Draw 3.15 | England 2.42

4.30 odds for Norway. Who would've thought Norway would have such an easy game? Haaland put on a legendary performance. It's also worth noting that Brazil played very poorly. They were actually solid on defense, but they left Haaland unmarked on 2 occasions and he scored both times. But Brazil's offense was truly ineffective.
So, will England win at 2.42 odds? Or do you think Mexico might pull off a surprise? I like how England play, but a lot of my friends have said Mexico could advance. Will Mexico pull a rabbit out of a hat on their home ground? I'm really undecided about this match.

Looks like Luck still hasn't come our way man.
Even though the opportunity was there when Brazil got a penalty but I actually asked the attitude why should Guimarães kick when if it was Vini maybe the result would be different and we will get a pretty good boost in this match.

Goodbye Brazil and we have Norway who qualify for the next phase.
Going against the grain to the exclusion of favorites turned out to be not so bad. I got a win with pretty good odds in this match.

NORWAY DID IT and so did you!

Big congrats on the wins, backing Norway at those odds took some guts and you got rewarded for it

7.25 | 5.00 | 3.10   all three tickets green ✅✅✅

That's what happens when you trust your read and back it on Kikabet. Well played 👏

Nice try still for Andy though. There are still couple of games left where he might recover the loss from this bet.

Goodbye Brazil and, congratulations to Norway. The next opponent of Norway will probably England, does anyone agree?  Roll Eyes

The most unlikely scenario for me happened: Brazil played a terrible match, and Haaland did 100% of his job. I assumed it would be the other way around. I thought that because of the weather, Norway would get tired at the end of the match, but here the opposite happened.
England did it as it should, no surprise for me.

The moment of the first penalty really pissed me off. Vini was standing with the ball, ready to shoot, and at the last second, he gave the ball to Bruno. If Vini had taken that penalty, there's a good chance that we would have won the betslip and Brazil would have been sent to the World Cup quarterfinals. But it is what it is. Brazil lost far more, so they should worry about what they screwed up.

And it was Haaland.

And that was Haaland. I thought the Brazilians would cut him off, and for most of the match they did. But unfortunately, Vini didn't even attempt to take the first penalty, which he should have, and he missed one good opportunity.

Nice try still for Andy though. There are still couple of games left where he might recover the loss from this bet.

Goodbye Brazil and, congratulations to Norway. The next opponent of Norway will probably England, does anyone agree?  Roll Eyes

Congratulations to Norway and England for doing a great job!

As for making up for the loss, it's going to be increasingly difficult to bet in the next stages of the tournament, but I might still try to place some bets.  Cool Wink

If I hadn’t seen Brazil’s performance in the match against Japan, I would have thought the same as you. But the reason I favored Norway from the start is that I saw Brazil was in the same situation as Portugal. They have quality players in every position. But the problem is that, for some reason, the team just can’t seem to perform at their best. It’s as if they lack confidence.

And my prediction came true. Haaland scored, and Norway really crushed Brazil, just like the Japanese national team did against Brazil. Personally, I feel that Coach Ancelotti isn’t a good fit for the Brazilian players’ style. Maybe no one has said this yet, but I’ve known Brazil for its free-flowing style of play for a long time. Now, though, this team has become just like any other. I miss the Brazil of the past, whose style always looked cool. Even when they lost, they always made me think they were still cool. But now they’re just another strong team like any other, their unique character has faded.

You both make interesting points, but I agree more with the Jatiluhung view. Brazil really looks lost under Ancelotti because his tactical system ruins their natural creativity. They play too mechanically now. Also, Gabriel is a great defender, but Haaland only needs one semi-chance to score, as we saw in the Japan match. You cannot fully stop him for 90 minutes. Norway deserved that win because they played with passion, while Brazil looked like a group of individuals without any chemistry. I also miss the classic, beautiful samba football from the past.

Back in the day, the Brazilian team always seemed like the one that enjoyed soccer the most. they looked like they were dancing on the field. Yeah, they had a beautiful style of play. but now they just seem like a run-of-the-mill strong team that no longer has a distinctive style.

In the previous World Cup, Brazil still looked better, and their playing style was still very beautiful. at that time, the Brazilian team was coached by Adenor Leonardo Bacchi (Tite).

Btw, for today’s match between Portugal and Spain, the odds seem pretty favorable for those of us rooting for Portugal. does Portugal really look this weak that the odds show Spain as the clear favorite?
