Why do I need to live like an immigrant  in my own country ? Rent are expensive, yes we know but is still affordable, I mean what are you saving for if you don’t have a roof over  your head ? A normal job? You mean a worker earning the Minimum wage or even more can’t afford to rent? I don’t think that’s true! The minimum wage in UK is around £12 per hour, so for someone working 8 hours a day…that’s £96 per day and around £1920 or more per month, for someone earning such a mouth even after taxes and bill he should be able to afford atleast a small room in a remote area.

Not everyone I'm every country has to live on the street because they are poor. There are still some level to this shit. Because you are not rich don't mean you should not provide for yourself even the smallest means of comfort.

Housing problem is a global problem and not just peculiar to the United states or a section of the world. To be realistic the majority of people around the world do rent or own a home, so the title of your thread is just wrong. There's no doubt it is getting harder every year and there should be conversations about that, because there are far too many billionaires around who couldn't spend all their money in multiple lifetimes but continue to sit on it while others struggle. However you are starting from an extreme that is simply not true. You use rent in London as an example, yet London has it's own "living wage" which is above the UK national wage and the majority of employers pay to retain staff - you simply earn more in London so rents will naturally be higher too. There is a high amount of home ownership in the UK and many people manage to rent.

It's literally impossible for someone to have a normal job in a country and not be able to afford rent, of course, you don't need to rent a luxurious villa, but as long as you have a roof over your head, that should be enough, and if you earn decent, you can even get a good accomodation no matter where you live, because countries will have their wages based on their inflation rate and the quality of life, unless it's a third-world country where people work so hard to earn a meager amount that can't even get them through the month properly because inflation is touching the sky, but wages stay the same, because government officials are busy filling their own pockets instead of thinking about their people.

UK and Canada could be expensive especially owning your own house but however they also have rent of different categories, the ones that's very expensive and the one that's very affordable so there is no how a working person will not be able to pay for a small apartment. A van will never replace staying in an appointment because you wouldn't have any comfort and by the time you are bathing on the gym house and they realized it was because of homeless you are coming there, they would still stop you from using there restroom. I always ask myself and most people that are around me while having discussions, is it that real estate is a money laundering scheme, because most of this fine houses we see real estate developers build are literally above the pay grade of the masses, unlike in the Days of our Fathers where a worker can afford to pay for rent of a beautiful house without much stress. Today when you walk across the streets and see developers building houses immediately you ask how much the rent is, the amount is always above the pay grade of the average worker, then who are they building these houses for, is it for criminals and fraudsters, because obviously those are their target customers.

In every country, we have the rich, the average and the poor people and every category has live different lifestyles according to their income. To most people, buying a house is a piece of cake and to some people could mean the whole world to them. For the average people, living is from hand to mouth and there is no significant improvement to their lifestyle until a big break happens.
