Hello guys, introducing Bitcointalk Customizer.

Bitcointalk Customizer is a browser extension made for users who want more control over how Bitcointalk looks and feels.

With it, you can customize the forum interface to match your own style, improve readability, or create a cleaner theme for daily use.

From your screenshots it is not possible to tell how the customizer will look when applied. There are lots of extensions that are available, if we are going to get a new one it needs to be adding something that the forum community is looking for.

You can make the forum look the way you want to, that's why we didn't include forum screenshots. You can install the extension and play around with it. We also believe that this extension provides extensive customizability compared to other extensions, that's mainly what makes it a bit different.

It depends, if someone wants to have that edge he can use it and if it causes any conflicts he can just not use it.

It's better to release things like this in github instead on mega, and keep it open source so that anyone can contribute.
Even better to convert it from extension to userscript so that anyone can install it much easier.
As for hiding signatures, avatars and images, we already have that in settings menu.

You’re right that in the settings menu you can hide signatures, avatars, and images. We added those options there for convenience.

We’ve thought about using GitHub, but we don’t really use it at the moment. Maybe we’ll set one up soon.

We haven’t created a userscript yet because handling the UI is easier with a browser extension.

Well thumbs up for the effort people now have a vast variety of extensions to choose from across the forum. Nevertheless it's good you add a preview of how the extensions look on the forum upon application it's gonna give people more reasons to try it out or to see if they actually want to try it out.

Also I think it would be more organised if these screenshots were placed probably side by side it makes the post a little more compact. Nevertheless like dkbit98 mentioned it's best you make everything as transparent as possible with GitHub. remember we have a ton of open source enthusiasts .

Yup, I second this. I'm not comfortable downloading random stuff off the internet, and certainly not from meganz. It hurts my brain with safety concerns. So a public github repository where we can view the code, or in the form of a userscript, or a release on extension store could be a viable choice.

I am someone who loves to try out new things, test tools and all (would have loved to try out Bitcointalk Customizer).. But simply because it was published through mega, I didn't. I hope OP will change it to something more reliable..if you know you know...

Op should already be able to tell by now that almost no one has actually tried out the extension yet because it's not transparent enough. The thread already has about 179 reads and still no one has really used it yet there's a high chance because normally with that view count you ought to already start getting suggestions on improvements and some complaints too.

So it's better you make everything transparent if you really want people to use it freely plus after some time chances has it that people may no longer show interest.

Very cool to share your code with the community and allow people to know what they're installing on their machines.  I don't think anyone, especially on a crypto forum, should be using software on their machines that doesn't have code available.  You can't be too safe.  Kudos to you for responding to the criticism with code.

Just a clarification: the code was available before and users could inspect it before installing, but it was not posted on a proper platform like GitHub, which is intended for open-source projects. The community was right about that.
