Irresponsible gambling is an attitudinal thing because if you find yourself gambling irresponsibly today it must be attached to your behavior one way or the other. I hear some people say they love gambling under the influence of alcoholic or drugs but when they fail woefully they try to justify their  failures to something else like lack of financial discipline and lack of luck in decision making. Sometimes good decisions bring about good luck so when you are gambling is not a game you want to play with alcohol because it is a game that is so sweet and can get you carried away just by mere playing without any influence.

Imagine you now want to gamble under influence and you expect for it not to get you into more financial crisis. Whatever adventure that you are looking for from gambling, you can get it without having to combine gambling with alcohol just to feel happy? That's the main reason why I said irresponsible gambling is an attitudinal thing and you need to work on it as a person or an individual if you truly wants to become a responsible gambler.

Gambling decisions can be improved with time, personal awareness of the content gambling and what it releases into you, gambling activate your brain rewards system which can be likely create a pattern in you brain, dopamine which is like drugs, where the addiction tendency comes in. Even people with the correct attitude can suffer from gambling addiction of they are genetically prone to suffer from dopamine imbalances.

I have never used drugs, never consumed alcohol, and thankfully I gamble moderately and without profit motives. But I have noticed that people who use drugs generally prioritize buying drugs over gambling when they have money. It's true that they can use drugs and gamble, but they won't stop using drugs to gamble. The same happens with people who consume alcohol; they tend to prioritize buying beer or any other alcoholic beverage to consume, and only if they have money left over will they use it to gamble.

With this, I mean that most people who are problematic with gambling or addicted to gambling are not addicted to alcohol and drugs; in most cases, they don't even use drugs or alcohol. What leads people to irresponsible gambling is the fact that they see gambling as a way to make a profit, and unfortunately, the more they lose, the more they continue gambling because they think they can recover everything they lost.

Gambling irresponsibility has only one cause and which is lack of discipline, most bad behaviors that metamorphose over time are end results of our poor ethics.

- Gambling without a budget is a bad financial discipline
- Gambling when drunk, not necessarily when you take alcohol is a bad discipline

Discipline is needed in all walks of life and gambling is one major activity that you need to apply strict discipline to, because it is easier to let loose and gamble irresponsibly where discipline is non-existent.

I've seen people drunk as hell gambling crazy and win thousands of dollars. Most of the time if you're drunk and playing silly you're going to lose, but there are some that feel like they play with more balls when drunk and it pays off.

Personally, I don't see a problem with alcohol and gambling when combined. Of course, we're talking about normal drinking and not abusing it. I can easily drink a couple of bets while watching a match, or I can play cards with friends and drink stronger alcohol, but in moderation. It's all about self discipline and understanding your limits. If you're okay with that, then you won't harm yourself.

Yes there is some truth in what you are saying because somebody who is very irresponsible and indiscipline towards affairs of life and other activities would be very irresponsible in that gambling as well because it is become a personality for them and it will reflect in how they gamble. I also think that people who are very disciplined in life will not find it hard to become disciplined in gambling because irresponsibility is not something they are used to so they'll be able to manage their gambling better.

Nobody should be witnessing failure in gambling, there shouldn't be any form of failure in the first place, gambling should be done in a way that it won't have any scratch on your body financially.

Sorry but I will have to disagree with you, irresponsible gambling has nothing to do with a person attitude until they learn they it, attitude is like something, a behavior a person is or was born with and to the best of my knowledge, no body is born with an attitude that causes them to gamble irresponsibly, it is lack of self control, lack of discipline amongst other things that often pushes a gambler to become irresponsible with their gambling activities.

I know this for sure because I've stayed with gamblers even before me myself became a gambler, and it's amazing how a really cool and responsible gambler can change to become an irresponsible gambler due to how they failed to take control of their gambling urges, this is not their attitude, it's just a form of habit they formed which is temporal and can be changed at anytime the gambler rises up and says enough is enough to theirself gambling irresponsibly.

On a normal day that people use their right sense to gamble, it's difficult to win and someone out there will want to combine another influence because they are addicted. I don't think it's right thing to do if someone is addicted to gambling, they need to stay of alcohol because that's addiction itself or drugs. Even if you are not doing it because of gambling, do it because of your mental health, drugs is not just addiction but very risky to anyone's health.

If you take alcohol in moderate quantity, maybe one or two I will say it's fine, you can do that go home and have some sleep and when you are completely out of the effect, you can gamble, that's completely fine because the influence will be out completely. However, even if alcohol doesn't intoxicate you that much, as long as you are making gambling decision, I will say that you will never make the right decision as long as gambling and alcohol are concerned.

Sorry but I will have to disagree with you, irresponsible gambling has nothing to do with a person attitude until they learn they it, attitude is like something, a behavior a person is or was born with and to the best of my knowledge, no body is born with an attitude that causes them to gamble irresponsibly, it is lack of self control, lack of discipline amongst other things that often pushes a gambler to become irresponsible with their gambling activities.

Sure lack of personal control is what make a gambler to slide into any bad aspect and outcome in gambling, this does no have anything to do with attitude but decipline, you form the habits over time, and since you know that gambling can easily trigger you to chase a direction with the aim of recovering or making more profits, it necessary to put in place the measures that keeps you in a very suitable position where you don't depend on your feelings or emotions for decisions whether to gamble more or not.
