The style of leadership isn't  the major problem but the decisions made by the leadership that makes the difference, Some countries practice autocracy, democracy, monarchy, e.t.c and are doing fine while there are others that practice it and are in a worse economic condition. If the leaders are competent and have sound economic implementations, of course it would reflect in the living conditions of the people, but if the leaders are corrupt, the country would remain stagnant and people would suffer greatly.

I understand your point, but every society has a style of leadership that is best for them. There are some countries where democracy does not suit the people, where autocracy and monarchy are better, and vice versa. In such a society, the Leader may be competent to do his job, but things wont be going perfectly for them. The role of the leader in having a good society is 70%, while the rest lies in the style of leadership.

Yes of course, bad leadership style can aftect the growth of a country and it can equally cause economic bridge down of a country, and high rate of crimes will increase there and there, which the majority of the society will be suffering it within the regime of the bad leadership style, so if I'm not mistaken or misleading anyone here, there is people that is still suffering from a bad leadership style of their counties in the world today, where cost of living is very high and the society are finding it very difficult to meet up the cost of living of that country and those that doesn't have the patience enough to keep pushing as they can end up giving up themselves by committing crimes that will lead them to prison. The economic situation does not always get bad because of the leadership, sometimes the economy can collapse due to the impact of the recession in the world market and the epidemic, war and natural disasters. If I will be permitted to make an example, I will say the current government in Nigeria is really a good example of what we are talking about . I think I agree that opinion, leadership play a big role in a country's development the policies and decisions of those in power can either cause an environment for growth or slow progress significantly. however I think it's also important to consider that economic performance is influenced by several factors including global economic condition security challenges institution and policy continuity , good governance may not solve every issues over night but it can certainly set the right direction for sustainable growth.

That is not even counting external shock that are beyond a country's control. In globalized economy, even best run government can't really dodge supply chain breakdowns, a global recession or geopolitical shock, and any one of them can derail a country's growth.
