Either you are being religious or you follow your custom and tradition, all I know about gambling is that it is not a crime to gamble as long as you are not doing it illegally, gambling is not fornication or any other atrocities will commit, gambling simply means having fun or being entertained by playing games on a casino, if others are taking the wrong approach to it, then our conscience should judge us that we are doing the right thing and maintain the normal standard.

One of the reasons on why gambling is depicted as something immoral and evil are due to the effects that necessarily follow with it. Basically, gambling causes addiction and the latter has effects that lead to a life of sin, such as:

• Intentionally not meeting your obligations to your family;
• Commit various crimes just to satisfy your gambling addiction;
• You surround yourself with pleasure that is immoral in character; and
• Greed.

I do believe that gambling by itself is not sinful; but the addiction that follows with it causes a person to commit a sin. As long as you know your conscience is clean and you are not committing sins while you gamble, in the eyes of the Lord, you are free from committing such.

Basically, many religious people see money and love of money to be the root of all problems and all evil on the planet, to the point some even see money as a tool used by the Devil in order to condemn the world to suffering.

Yes, I completely agree with you. Many people cannot control themselves in gambling and face huge losses and cause harm to themselves and their families. However, nowadays there are many big casinos in many countries and everyone gambles together in those places. Very few of us can control ourselves while gambling. The only reason why I think preachers speak against gambling is because of its addictive tendencies. Gambling can easily be addictive, and many people have been ruined because of addiction. They believe that avoidance is better than seeking assistance.

As far as I am concerned and how I practices my own religion, I don't like to affiliate my gambling life with religion talk more of going that deep with the holy bible.

I am a Christian my religious practice and this is my first time I am coming across scriptures from the Bible that discusses about Jesus and gambling but I don't still think I am moved by it to agree the bible supports or discriminates gambling.
I do still have my conscience intact that the act of gambling would only be justified by those having irresponsible gambling records that it could destroy your life in anyway.

If a person continues to gamble without control, they will end up losing more than they expected. Just as you said, gambling can easily  turn  to addiction if a person failed to control themselves. But once you have discipline and you can be able to control yourself, you are good to go in gambling. U understand you very well, I know there are lots of things that causes lack of self control apart from gambling but it doesn't mean that this things are not sin except gambling. This passage of gambling that being a sin is not recorded anywhere in the bible but what the bible warns us  about is to be careful about the love of money. It is said that the love of money is the Ruth of all evil and anyone who loves money can do the undo just to satisfy their curiosity. And that will lead to sin. If you can remember that in the bible Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus by selling him with 30 pieces of silver. Is it not the love of money that made him betrayed his Master? Is it not the love money that made Delilah betrayed Sampson to the philistines? Till date I haven't come across a religion that supports gambling. One of the reasons I think it's that way is because on a statistical basis gambling has had more negative effects on people than positives and it mostly stems from addiction greed and love for money which are actually frowned upon in most religion.

Since we are talking about the Christian Religion, we should refer to the bible to answer your question.  In the bible, there is no verse that forbids gambling.  Thus, all these talks about gambling being a sin are a man-made interpretation of verses that do not really explicitly say gambling is a bad thing.  Actually, we can read somewhere in the Bible that looks like a gambling situation, it is the story of Job, where God and Satan agreed to test Job.

It only nullifies that it is a gambling act because God is all knowing, but if happen God is just a normal person... the all knowing become uncertainty and the risk of failure is there.

These are many points of view, and this is expressed in trying to draw a straight line between the cultural practices and the moral levels as embodied in the religious writings of early time. In reality we know that why gambling is morally frowned upon is because of the ills associated with it. For example, greed, then irresponsible gambling behavior that eventually leads to addiction, then those who chase losses until they go broke and many others. The problem with religious people is that they misinterpret the word of God. Casting lots for who to take the cloth of Jesus was not gambling. In a contest, it was a method for dividing property and giving ownership. i we can read the bible without sentiments, then you will realize that, there were alot of gambling that went on in the bible and god and Lucifer the devil also gambled with the life o job i we are to interpret it in a lame mans understanding but we don't read the bible to argue but to glorify the name of the creator.
