The statement of having $5k that's unaccessible in a wallet is something that a scammer would say to get people's attention but if it's actually true then it means that the person making such complain is totally inexperienced. After giving out this information they end up becoming a target for scammers. A lot of beginners have ended up giving others access to their wallets because they had a some difficulties in accessing it. Being on the forum gives you an advantage because you don't have to dm anyone on telegram or any other social platform concerning related issues, you can simply create a thread but still keep certain details confidential.
Creating a thread to complain about losing access to your Bitcoin is definitely not necessary, because what is needed to have access to your Bitcoin is your wallet seed phrase and its private keys. And if you happened to have lost access to any of these two, then it simply means that there is nobody on the internet that will be able to help you recover your Bitcoin, most especially if it was stored in a non-custodial wallet or a cold storage hardware wallet. But if it happens to have gotten lost on a centralized exchange or a crypto casino, that's the only time when posting it online in search of help will be necessary. And still yet, it ought to be done through the proper channel of following up the official page of the exchange or platform and not just meeting a random user online.

When I first came into crypto I had a fairly good understanding of many things. At that time on social media platforms many people who were asking for help would make their seed phrases publicly available in many places. I also fell into their trap and deposited some gas fees into their wallets but later I could not recover those funds.
Again my fund got stuck in an exchange and that exchange did not have any built in customer support So for support I went to that exchanges Telegram channel and messaged them for help. Then a user messaged me using the exact same name and photo as their support. They explained to me that there was a problem with their system which was why my funds were stuck. For this they showed me a picture of a loading process and said that if I wanted to withdraw the money I would have to provide some more funds.
Then I became cautious and took a screenshot of that message and posted it in their official group. Later after seeing them they completely denied that it was them. I had narrowly escaped.

You have just hit the nail on the head, a very good advice that should be taken by all because at times we forget and we are carried away on how to solve the problem and so we feels presenting the problem this way will bring a faster and better solution not knowing it causes more harm to us.
The reason most newbies find themselves in situations like always wanting to be helped to solve their problems is because of lack of proper research and learning within and outside the forum, I think if you are a newbie who is experiencing this genuinely without the intention of scamming people you can read and understand properly, ask questions form a well known friend or more experienced persons in the forum to solve your problems .
If they make reading their habit, solving most problems for them will be minimal.. Scammers are out there with various types of skills to get what they want by all means, so we should be careful on the help we render since we don't know truth anymore.

OP not all newbie seeking for help here are genius too, they all have plan to attract a victim to scam, this crypto space generally are full of scammers, it's difficult to render help and its hard to seek for help, in all of these never share your secret phrase to any body regardless how they pretend to be good in this space.
That would be quite something, seeking help with the intention to scam who wants to aid you. The one means I think this can happen is, those who try to raise funds for certain course that haven’t got a bearing but, it’s good the forum rule generally doesn’t allow such. However, it’s not difficult to find people having to explore the loopholes around it with a sad story on how they lost their coins stacked in a wallet which was made for some kidney transplant or daughter’s surgery and so on. You can’t really sieve out the truth at times. Well, people would always seek help and offer to help but, you’ve really got to be open and free about what you’re doing, understanding the risk in going public with these things and be careful of where you are getting help from as, some would really be more about undoing you and make your situation worst rather than helping.

So sometimes don't be to complaisant that he or she don't know about it, if they started to get weird like transfer me something or can i use your wallet etc., something like this be very cautious or abandon being helpful, this might happen or be a victim.

Sometimes the smartest scam can be making you feel like you’re the expert and on top in the conversation. The moment they’ve made you feel that way, they will be able to earn your sympathy since they’re acting inexperienced, you just wouldn’t know when you’ll lower your guard and even start doing or saying things you ordinarily wouldn’t. It’s okay to help people who claim to be inexperienced, but while doing so, it’s crucial to be cautious about the information you let out so you don’t end up compromising your own security.

Who still has sympathy for strangers in this age when scam is the order of the day? Everybody you meet on the internet who is asking too much information concerning investment or trying to guide you into any form of investment or help you even when you did not ask them for help, many who would offer help have an intention to scam you once you make yourself vulnerable. Move directly to the right source of information when you need help, don't start by making your vulnerability public for scammers to take advantage.

Having a safe stay in the crypto world has never been easy because recently scammers and cheaters are developing enough things for taking control of wallets and also having access to your security zone. Never talk publicly about anything that is having your secure and private things; once anyone talks about anything related to wallets or accounts, he will receive enough responses that are mostly time wasters or scammers. In case you are having any problem, always try to have things secure, then talk to anyone about your problem; checking feedback is always important. Without checking or having enough information, it's always creating more trouble. Never give anything to anyone who does not have a good reputation; firstly, just try to use any wallet after having enough information about this.

This kind of mistake is often made by beginners when they are in danger and go to different places to ask for help, then those fraudsters take advantage of that opportunity and try to use them as an excuse. When someone locks up dollars in their wallet or exchange, if they post something, then fraudsters are definitely active there to cheat such people. Many times, fraudsters send messages in different ways and try to hack links to different websites or wallets in different ways. Fraudsters try to trick beginners in such a way that they agree to hand over their money to them. Fraudsters trap them in such a way that if someone steps in once, they get stuck and lose their money. However, the way you wrote a warning post about beginners, of course, you should learn from them and gain experience is the most important thing, it is important to refrain from trusting everyone on online platforms

If you run into an issue, just ask your question right out in the open on the main forum. Anyone who actually wants to help won't ever need access to your wallet to figure out what went wrong.

Majority of scammers these days don't really have to wait for months to gain someone's trust, they try different targets and if someone falls for them then they empty the wallets of that person. I remember the days when scammers used to be very active on Telegram to steal money of crypto users mostly during the times when Telegram bots got attentions, bots like Notcoin and Hamster Kombat made millions of people to become active at Telegram and that gives scammers a chance to scam users at Telegram, they used to target multiple people not just a one and that way they used to scam the users. Scammers will always come with different schemes but anyone who understands such scammers will never get scammed ever by them. It's also true that if a scammer somehow learns about a rich person and his/her wallets then in such case the scammer might gain the trust first and after getting access to the wallets such a scammer execute his/her ill operations.

You are right, scammers want to take all kinds of opportunities. I know a case of someone who suffered losses due to his lack of knowledge and carelessness. He was holding BTC on an exchange . After that, his phone suddenly lost. Later, when he was going to set up that exchange on a new phone, he was facing some problems. Where it might have wanted verification due to identity issue and security reasons. But he couldn't understand the issue and tried repeatedly, so he got temporarily blocked. He started looking for different ways to get help. Later, as far as I know , he joined a Telegram group and from there a scammer started talking to him personally offering to help him. After some time, that scammer manipulated that person I knew. He gave that scammer his email, password and also his personal documentation too. The scammer said he would fix it in a day . Later, he got access to the exchange by his own trying as that scammer stop communication , but there was no crypto he had deposited inside. Although these small problems seem easy to us, those who are new take it very difficult. And from the beginning should not hold Bitcoin on an exchange. Because we do not have complete control over it.

Trust is exactly what makes some scams very difficult to detect. Most of the times, a scammer doesn’t actually need to convince their victims immediately, they can spend more time, gradually building confidence until they’ve brought you the point where they’ve finally earned your trust and you no longer have to question their actions. That’s why the amount doesn’t have to be huge first before you verify the person or what he’s selling, because sometimes they often start small, and what was just a small transaction, could potentially be part of a much bigger one.

If not for that, why would they trust someone they meet online? It's because they want to achieve a big dream quickly which is very dangerous, they are the type of people scammers always target. Honestly engaging in a long discussion with a stranger now is very risky, be it on social media or in a physical discussion because people cannot be trusted and the world isn't safe again, You can hardly identify between good people and bad ones. Scammers are very convincing they always seem to be good people because that's the easiest way to convince people to fall for their tricks. The best way to avoid them is not to engage in long discussions with strangers or trust them, this will help you not to share any sensitive information with them, in my opinion.
