I can't believe nobody has created a thread for this fight yet.  I guess you must all be too young to know about Gina Carano...



This is actually the fight I've wanted to see for more than 10 years now.  I think Gina Carano is going to have a rough night, but I've always wanted to see her fight so I don't even care that she's old and in above her head.  Just ten more days to go.  I hope it's a great event.

Sorry... I am old in this section but I don't known about the Carano. From my findings recently since her match and Rousey is mainstream I discovered she (Carano) had only been in the game for couple of 3 years of experience while Rousey had 6 years of experience.

If you say she (Carano) is going to face a tough night with Rousey on the fight I won't doubt it because Rousey had long remained in the heals of fighting in the WWE and there in the women contenders Rousey had made so much fame even after she left the MMA in 2016. Rousey had also been one of the undisputed in the women championship matches in both WWE and the MMA.

I enjoys Rousey's mode of actions because she is always determined but let us see how the match goes within both. It has also seem to be awhile they also step up to the MMA ring.

I’m not sure Gina could take down the Ronda of today even if Gina was in her prime. I don’t think Rousey will go 100% for these reasons, so it will probably be a bad fight to watch. I’m a fan of both though so it is what it is.

Yeah, Carano was the one who brought female MMA into the mainstream. When she was in her prime, no body can touch her.

But I will give Rousey the advantage here because of his background and how she also beat everyone in UFC until she was exposed by Holly Holm and that is the beginning of her downfall. But this is a match that most of UFC fans might be calling for, 2 female GOATs.

Still, as I have said, Rousey winning by armbar or submission. But if Gina has the gas tank and can push the fight, she might have a better chance of winning as Rousey is not known to have a good gas tank.

I wonder how much they are getting for this fight. Rousey was retired for almost a decade, and Carano for more than a decade and a half. For them to get out of retirement for this fight, they must be getting paid pretty well.

Gina is can be called pioneer fighter, but for many years there are lots of changes happened on on fighting scene. While Ronda fight in much modern environment and much tougher fighter. So its so tricky to compare both because we don't know what will be the result of this match up. Maybe it will not going 100%, but this is provably a show than a true war.

For sure fans will still appreciate this match up, since imagine they manage to meet this two great icon came from different era.

So that is just the minimum and with this two ladies headlining, then it could be x4-x5 of that amount. And in the press conference, Rousey attack Dana and UFC.



This is under Jake's Paul MVP so there could really be big money for all the fighters under this fight card.

Rousey is a popular fighter in the ring but I have not heard of Carano before. The date is closely approaching with Rousey fighting styles which I know. This will be a greet fight and if I am betting on this fight. I bet on Rousey because I am not familiar with Carano. Ronda Rousey has beaten many which I watched but I've not seen Carano.

I’m not familiar with Carano probably because I rarely watch Woman’s Division UFC. I thought Rousey was already on the Wrestling industry after he stop fighting on UFC.

I believe most of the exhibition match partly have a script to make it more entertaining.

I saw them on my feed, but it's good that you created a thread for this match. Both fighters are coming off long periods of inactivity. Gina Carano's last match was a first-round TKO loss to Cris Cyborg on August 15, 2009, while  Rousey's last UFC fight was a first-round TKO loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC back in 2016; both of them want to start fresh and have already forgotten their humiliating last fights.
I have Rousey winning here, I'm sure she will find her best form, remember she once boasted that he can beat Mayweather, during her reign as a champion in UFC.

Well obviously they don't do it for free, in the end it's a show, I watch this kind of dating (when I have the chance) I almost never bet, because I literally don't understand anything about it, but Carano is a really beautiful woman:D
These types of encounters are more fun and enjoyable than male ones.

This was my thought too, even though it's nice to see them coming back but I think it's for the money and for the show especially both of them have retired in MMA for almost 10 years and Gina's last match was in 2009. I just checked the information about the match it was an official one, let's just hope that this is not a scripted one it's actually nice to see them both on the cage again after a decade and let's hope that this would be a great match. Though I'm Ronda on this one.

I have followed Rousey's career in the UFC until he took a long layoff and joined WWE, I considered her a GOAT until her loss to Holly Holm, which was a devastating loss that led her to losing again to Amanda Nunez, this could be the best time to bring back her loss UFC glory but it looks like its late because there's a lot of great MMA fighters that can match his power, but it will be interesting is she still has it to compete in the top level match in UFC.
If she wins here, I expect more fights for this former GOAT

This is going to be a tough fight for Gina since her last fight was in '09, way farther than Ronda who last fought in '16.
Carano is definitely the underdog in this contest facing Rousey who has an Olympic level judo experience.
Am hoping to see the fight last well into the five-round featherweight (145 lbs) bout, than just an easy knockout considering the time difference and absence from the sport we see for Carano.
I see this fight more about the cash involved rather than a fight for legacy and revenge.
My bets is definitely on Rousey.

Rousey is going to win the fight easily. I haven’t seen odds anywhere but I’m sure they’re ridiculous. That being said… Gina Carano is way cooler and if you familiarize yourself with her story I don’t think you’d be hoping for her to lose. I’m personally hoping for a miracle win for her, but I also know it isn’t going to happen.

The fight is kind of interesting as a novelty in the same way a lot of these Netflix fights are, but if we’re being honest, too much time has passed and neither of them is anywhere close to being a top fighter today. Carano was always a lousy fighter but she was heavily promoted on Showtime because she was attractive. She built up a decent record because there wasn’t a lot of female talent in MMA back then. Rousey, on the other hand, had a very successful career and went on to become UFC champion, while Carano decided to focus instead on pursuing an acting career.

Rousey is the obvious choice for most bettors. I don’t think it will be a close fight. The only real intrigue is in whether it will end up going the distance. Rousey doesn’t have knockout power, but she is probably still capable of winning by submission against this level of opponent.
