What was the final score of the match? I didn't watch the match live and I tried to get the score but I haven't been able to yet, maybe because of the time difference or because the match hasn't ended yet, I don't know exactly.

But I am eager to know the result of this legendary match. All the sources that covered the event published the results of the other fights, but the result of the main event "Ronda Rousey vs Gina Carano" has not yet been mentioned in any of the live coverage.

They haven’t fought yet. Francis got a vicious knockout and currently Nate Diaz is looking bad against Mike Perry… Another half hour or so and you should have your Carano vs Rousey result.

Diaz was bleeding like a stuck pig. They both looked gassed in round 1 but overall decent fight with a few pints of blood getting spilled. Rousey fight up next, let's see if there a 4 1st round stoppages tonight.

Wouldn't have expected anything less honestly. Glad I didn't get Netflix or PPV just for that fight, would have been pissed.

That went as poorly for Carano as I had expected. Like a typical Jake Paul promoted event, it was hyped up to be a bigger deal than it was, even though it was a huge mismatch. I hope that this is a one off event and that MMA won’t turn into boxing where they have these kind of fights all the time. Knowing Netflix and Jake Paul, we are probably going to continue seeing more of these spectacles, despite the complaints on social media, because they draw a lot of viewers.

It was expected, that is how Ronda Rousey used to fight when she was in her prime. The only reason she shifted her focus from her reputed ground game was because of her stupid coach, Edmond Tarverdyan who fed her the delusion that she was a world class boxer and that is how she derailed her career.


Here is my earlier prediction here, I was expecting Ronda Rousey to give Carano some time to show her kicks.  

It is wishful thinking if anyone think that Gina Carano would become an elite ground specialist after her retirement and that she could compete against an Olympic Judo medalist.

I would like to see a stand up bout for the first few minutes and would like to see the patented clinch game of Gina and some leg kicks and then Ronda can do her Harai Goshi throw and end up in an arm bar and call it a night.

I am really impressed with the Mike Perry and how he was able to completely control the fight. Unfortunately it was a doctor corner stoppage, but I wanted to see how his gas tank would last if the fights went to the 4th and 5th rounds. Nate Diaz has an impressive cardio and I was expecting Mike Perry to slow down because his output was crazy in the first two rounds.

Sad to see Junior dos Santos getting knocked out. In his prime, he was a scary dude with a heavy overhand right that could knock out anyone.

Francis Ngannou is fighting cans and calling himself the best.

We got usual Diaz with low hands defense and a plan to steal the fights show my giving one good punch or slap. Diaz has been always neglecting defense in his career. To do that against a guy from bare knuckle fighting was a huge mistake. Nevertheless, the event was much better that same days UFC event. Event looked like good UFC event from 2019-2020.

Previously many fighters wanted to fight Jake Paul to get a huge paycheck, now fighters will dream to get signed by Jake Pauls promotion

I prefer, and went for, more excitement in the supporting and co-main events than in the main events. We anticipate more actions, but it is what it is.
I'd like to say that Ronda is back, but she already announced her retirement. Maybe she just wants a graceful exit from UFC, but we never know what will come next.

It's quite sad. Despite knowing Rousey would most likely win, I was expecting more from Gina Carano, I guess this shows that Ronda Rousey is out of Carano's league.

Carano's hands were too far apart, and she probably wasn't able to establish a proper hold, so it's no surprise Ronda escaped that. Also, Rousey was the one who took Carano down to grapple.

This really wasn't a shocker if you watched any Rousey fight before, it was something that we all expected to see. Yes she has lost before, and her regressing from UFC all together happened because people basically figured out that if you stay away from her and just jab, there is no standing up talent she has, she just knows how to take down and win, and that's all she can do. But if she can, like if she actually manages to take you down, there is no woman on earth that can stop her.

This is what happened here, there were MANY fights Rousey won within the first 30 seconds when she was active for this reason, and the same happened here as well. Carano focused on getting back in shape, but did not worked on her strategy too much obviously.

Nate Diaz was very headshaking for this fight. What has happened to his very known long stamina where he can fight in training for more than 10 rounds of MMA? It very much appears that he only had 1 week of training for this fight with only punching bag and punching gloves with his trainer heheheh.

However, it is speculated that the Nate has earned more than $4 million after commercial partnerships and sponsorship deals.

I predict that this MVP promotion of Jake Paul will become very famous for more MMA fighters because this is where they can gather much money and retire.

This was the first ever mma event streamed live by Netflix. Some could say that all the main card fights (except of Parnasse Vs Cross) were fights of retired/advanced in age fighters, who are well past their prime, but that's kind of understandable, as there aren't many big mma names that are not contractually tied to other organisations (so not able to fight for MVP).
I'm not sure what to think about Francis Ngannou. He delivered as expected with a 1st round KO, but there were moments when he looked out of steam in that first round, so age probably got to him too (he's 39).

I don't think the official numbers are yet in, in terms of views and profitability, to see if the event can be considered a success. If so, MVP could potentially rise up to be a serious competitor to the UFC.

The UFC having a near monopoly means that aspiring fighters don't have much choice but to agree to whatever terms they get in their first contract offers, which is often not enough to cover all the expenses.

But if the MVP wants to eat UFC's lunch, they have a long way to go.

It's one thing to organise a one-off event that's financially profitable, but running regular events with fighters' rankings and all that is a different story. A partnership with Netflix could make things easier in terms of attracting new fans, but it's going to be hard to keep things interesting enough to consistently attract a lot of views.

ps. I hear both Nate Diaz and Mike Perry have already agreed to fight a rematch. Nate didn't look that great even before he started to bleed heavily from the cuts. He looked a bit gassed out, which is not like him. It could be the age, or maybe it was due to getting hit with body shots.

I can’t imagine anyone wanting to see Nate Diaz fight again. The getting covered in his own blood every time he fights thing is sort of cool, but he is never going to win another fight. He looked terrible and he can barely string together a sentence… Mike Perry looked good though.

I guess the dog-fight style and guaranteed blood fest is his appeal. Maybe that's why he didn't attempt to take it to the ground, where he would have had the advantage. Maybe there has been some sort of informal agreement to keep it as a striking match, or maybe Diaz didn't have enough in him to shoot for takedowns, which can be quite energy draining.
I guess his legendary cardio is a thing of the past now. Nobody is resistant to aging.
As for his speaking, he was always like that, so I don't see much change here.

If he wants to re-run it, that's fine with me. Let him earn some money before retiring for good. He deserves it.

Carano is more an actor then fighter but also both by some experience.   I would say Hollywood star but perhaps bigger on tv, Carino was most recently in Disney production of the Mandolorian.    They later removed her from the cast despite a success in filming and audience reception due to political comments on Twitter.  Seems like nonsense to me but free speech would be too controversial I guess.

It appears that you have not considered that Nate did not train for this fight heheheh. On this promotion and for his more older age, we can be very much certain that Nate only wanted the money. He does not care for helping the roadmap for this MVP organization because he has no more future in the sport of MMA. I reckon none of the fighters who are in their older age and fought in the hexagon of MVP has a future in the sport of MMA.

20 years ago she was more of a fighter than an actor… I never watched her fights at the time and always wanted to see a good Gina Carano fight. I can say that I still haven’t seen her fight. I am still shocked that Rousey didn’t let it go at least a couple minutes. I don’t see either of these two ever getting paid to fight again after that disgrace of an event.
