Celebrity boxing matches are just for fun because they are not professional fighters, their fights on the ring are mainly to settle scores if they are throwing verbal punches at each other and there fans will want them to settle it in the ring man to man. Due to the hype and money that is involved I believe that some celebrity disputes are being staged so that it will lead fans to demand that they settle it in the ring. Moreso many people believe that their fights are fixed by the organizers so watching them should be for fun because analyzing to bet on who you think has the edge to win is useless.

I agree with you the matches are created to settle scores. Also, it might be staged. But for this current match on everyone lips, it has a high percent probability it is not staged.

Betting on this is not entirely useless. I'll give two instances.  if the match is not fixed, then betting on it is good. But if the matches are fixed. It will be foolish to actually bet on it.

For the sake of enjoyment, I can bet on the one I favored. Besides, this event is not about gambling but rather a way of promoting sportsmanship and entertainment, where not just pro boxers can fight in the ring but also non-boxers. Aside from that, it is made for a charity program.

For sure,  it’s no different from the normal boxing fight and I know people can place their bets on it. Yet, I don’t want to assume they are doing this to make money.. It’s all about money but clelebrity won’t just do something if they won’t see more money in it.

Like I  said I don’t want to assume but to me I think it can be easily rigged to make more money to their pocket, it not so hard to put up a scrip and that’s what Carter does for a living..

If everyone is going to make some money on this kind of fight so why not go and bet on it? And this is not like the first time that we have seen celebrities boxing match. If I'm not mistaken it was a trend way before.

And maybe they are making a comeback in this era and with the advent of online betting, for sure there are going to be gamblers that are willing to go and risk their money. After all, we have prediction market now, and it shows that everything that humans can get their hands on to make profit, they will do it.

The profit alone is not why people bet on it. Profit is one factor among many, the emotion attachment is there also. Some are just doing it for fun. Not everyone that will bet on it is profit driven if the betting angle was there.

For this particular fight. Carter wanted to prove himself in the ring. So this fight is not scripted at all.

They might want to do it for money, but the primary motive for this particular fight is for pride and to prove one can beat the other.

Its still a real fight despite of many concerns that this is rigged or scripted. But yeah the main reason why its happening is because of money and entertainment.

Promoters and celebrity fighters knows that their fans will pay just to watch those fights, then betting just adds another layer of excitement. Rigging the fight is not easy since there are so many people watching their fight. But for sure there's scripted ones since for sure they want to play with hype to get lots of profit on their event. So yes everything is all about money and they are just using their fame to sell that fight.

These people can be funny at times, probably staged the fight unknown most people and some gullible people would be thinking it's a natural fight meanwhile they have an agenda for it. I listened to Portable's interview ( the opponent to Everyone) and he said he sold his chance to his fan so they can win their  bet, that that was why he lost the game. While the guy can be a big joke most of the time, he could actually be telling the truth as well. I just can not bet in such event.

I would not bet on a celebrity boxing match. These boxing matches are not interesting to watch, at all. Exhibition fights of professional athletes are imho better, because in this fight the winner will be the one who is really more skilled. Not the one who has better stamina and bigger fan base if fight goes to judges decision. All celebrity boxing matches are the same. No defense. Both guys just swing their fists, and the first to connect, wins the fight. After 2 rounds, they are dead, and instead of fighting, they walk in the ring. Ref will never allow a KO.

In my opinion, betting on celebrity boxing matches is very difficult to predict, and the results can be far from expected. I have never tried betting before, but from the few celebrity boxing matches I have watched, they look like to be sparring matches (in training mode). So, I think it is should better to bet on professional matches, or there is also competition between both sides. I think, the seriousness of the match is what makes it more entertaining. The adrenaline rush can also be felt when a match getting more serious, isn't it?

Well, this is just my personal assumption, and I am not trying to judge people who bet on such games. Basically, everyone is free to bet or gamble in their own way. However, whatever we do in gambling, we should remain wise by managing our time, and finances wisely. So, by that way, we won't do the unwise (or, irresponsible) gambling, and can avoid regret.

I don't really think it was a fixed match because from what I saw the day they fought was something very serious and mean. I really saw the anger in both faces and even before then Portable and Carter Efe wasn't even in a good terms perhaps that was just an opportunity for them to exercise their grieviances.

However, the match attracted personalities and dignitaries from every angle in the society that invested hugely, so this wouldn't have took place assuming it was actually a fixed match.

Many will be interested on a match like this because this is unique nad attractive due to the fighter involved is already popular in their own way. Jake Paul and other influencers boxer is now making a huge money due to exhibition match boxing because many people still want this kind of fight even though Jake is not a celebrity before.

There’s also polymarket which a market like this will surely explode. I don’t see this kind of trend in my country but I want corrupt politicians be involved on boxing fights too as part of punishment since we don’t have death penalty. It will be amazing to watch.

I don't think politicians would want to subject themselves to pain just to get that money. They can always exhaust money in a very easy manner even without this cruel sports. A lot of boxers are in this sports because they need money not because they really want this sports in the first place.

I ignore such activities whether its boxing match or any other kind of sport where celebrities compete. Because they do either to earn or to promote something. Imo every one should do their own job or duty. Professional fighters should fight, singers sing, actors shot in movies and etc. If someone goes to "other territory" earn a lot on that, and try to charge me for that - that is not correct. I am not a celebrity, but if I try to sing and ask little money for that (doing same as celebrities but in smaller scale), people will think that I am crazy or sick.

Exactly. And if "twisted" you mean something negative, I disagree. Those who buy the tickets have a right to choose what they watch. Same goes for the bettors. If it's more entertaining to them to bet on influencers or any other celebrities, who can forbid them? Maybe there are people who'd prefer watching real gladiators instead of MMA fights, but sorry, guys, times have changed.

Well, there are some persons that do it for fun and also for money making, since they know how things are being work or operate there, they bet with people that don't have any idea about it, which will make them to make money. So, its best to treat celebrity fight like an entertainment just as gambling with the expectation that one can't tell what will happen next, as it will be more fun and safe as you are not relying it to be a paycheck but more of fun.

Celebrity fights are boring because they re stage and someone has been chosen to win already. What's is the fun in a fake fight and when you already know it's staged. This is the reason people prefer watching football rather than watching celebrity fights that the outcome is fixed. However, celebrity fights is for our entertainment and fun to others but I prefer my fights to be real and unstaged because that is what I consider to be  true entertainment.  I do not expect everyone to share my own perspective as we can enjoy whatever we consider fun or entertainment .

I will not bet on any event that is organized for entertainment. I have been watching the boxing that is held all this while and this is the third one between these guys Carte Efe and Portable, it seems to be like promoting sport to make more money, this was never even about real sport, the celebrities makes money and the organizers makes even more because they make it go viral, they select who is going to win and that's the person they put all their money on, so if you bet on them you are the losers.

Fit the sake of entertainment, it makes sense because in Nigeria boxing isn't consider a good sport with limelight unless you visit ghetto area where some people have fun with boxing or the days they do international boxing days, that's when you see boxing. They should make it official, make boxing real business and let everyone come but it shouldn't be limited to only celebrities, allow other people to join to make it go even viral.

I Don't bet on those kind of matches because the chance of it being fixed is very high so the person you may believe May win the match may end up not winning because it is already fixed so I usually don't like betting on celebrating boxing matches I simply avoid them I have lost a lot of money from matches like that and at the end of the day I usually find out that the match is a fixed one, I really don't know what is happening in boxing this time around almost all the matches are being fixed and this is very bad for boxing.

Sometimes this celebrities fixed this fight with their self and agree on how the game will go just to entertain their crowd they make money off the entrances ticket, sponsorship, streaming etc who ever win or loss still have a lot of money to go back home with and such type of fight is not under professional boxing regulatory body which means they could do anything that they like as long as it’s in agreement with the organizers, anyone who want to place bet on such should just be ready for any type of result they get.
