In this thread I will like to hear your opinions if you can afford to bet in an organized fighting competition match between celebrities who have the courage to step on the fighting rings to prove their strengths.

You did not post about it when the talk was very hot in Nigeria, but after the fight and Carter Efe won already days ago, you later brought it to this forum.

The two next matches that I will bet on is the Anthony Joshua fight with Kristian Prenga on July 25, 2026, in Riyadh. And Anthony Joshua versus Fury which will likely be this year. I am going for Anthony Joshua in the two.

Games like this are very much unpredictable because you can't really tell who the winner will be. Sometimes the body structure might even lead you to think one person has better chances to win, but it doesn't really matter.

Placing bets like this must be done just for the sake of fun, and if you are trying to bet on one person being stronger, you are taking a risk that the outcome may not be as you predicted. It is better to bet on professional boxers; at least in predicting your bet, you make your decisions based on the fighting experience you know about the fighter, but this is still not a guarantee because anything can happen along the way.

As long as you can afford to bet a game between two persons or individual against each other, you are a gambler and this does not make it most that it has to come between celebrities or not, staking is very possible in gambling upon any condition or terms or is betting, so I've seen a number of celebrity fight and non celebrity fight, one thing is just certain, there will be a winner and you either lose or win if you bet on them.

In my case, I wouldn't bet on these celebrity fights. I know that money makes people fight hard and commit the worst atrocities. But in the case of celebrity fights, it seems to have a pre-arranged outcome. I say this because they are people with advertising contracts; their profession depends heavily on their face and body, so they wouldn't destroy their financial source (their bodies) in a fight.

So they agree to fight hard, they stage a fight like in WWE, and at the end of the fight they declare a pre-arranged winner, divide the money, and move on with their lives. Meanwhile, professional wrestlers fight knowing that their financial source is precisely that fight.

I would like to gamble on a game that is competitive. In such games, you can do analysis and try to predict the outcome of the game. But in these celebrity fights, predicting the winner is sometimes difficult. There are not proffessionals in these sports, which makes it more complex. Sometimes the fight is arranged in such a way that even the fittest among the celebrities will end up losing the fight. Where there are no clear rules for these games, anything can happen. So I will prefer to place bets on professional boxers only. These fights are just social media stunts to gain followers or engagement.

There's no official match out of these celebrity matches on which means  that 100% of these fights are exhibition totally. Yes, there's no sense on having these fights but to know that these are the ways on which these people do make easy money. Making up some hype and some interest on which it would really be that making them money and even into those retired boxers are doing this on which simply shows that there's money even with these unofficial fights. Now on talking about betting then pretty sure that there would be those who wanted to make up some bets despite of not official. Reason? They are just taht being a follow or a fan of a certain celebrity or personality on which they will be placing out their bets. Betting on such matches between celebrities are mostly for fun and shouldn't be approached aggressively  because you can rarely predict or measured their both strength since they aren't a professionals on that field and if you most get involved it's best you gamble with what you can afford to lose. Again, it is mostly organized to catch fun between top dignitaries and prominent figures that just want to have some good time within themselves. And sometimes you will be amazed with the huge sun they invest just to have fun.

That's why it's a celebrity or exhibition match. But some betting platform might cover them because the personality involved are famous that's why it is consider to be good to bet and make some money out of it. Perhaps not just in crypto base platform, but in market like Poly or Kalshi too.

Yes, they are amateur but it depends on who's training them or how hard they train because they want to bet their opponent. And usually this kind of celebrity matches has something to settle or they have grudge against one another so settling in the boxing ring is the best way for them.

I agree that it's a bit unfair towards them and I'm sorry, but yeah, as you said ti yourself, people are free to purchase any ticket that they want and bettors too are free to bet on whatever they want. I think boxing matches between celebrities are going to pop up more and more in the future because people want to watch fights between those they know, and compared to athletes celebrities are known much more.

I think boxing matches between celebrities are going to pop up more and more in the future because people want to watch fights between those they know, and compared to athletes celebrities are known much more.

It's been popping up in the last 5 years or so. If you would remember it started everything during the pandemic, the likes of Jake Paul and Floyd started it because everyone has nothing to do and it's boring and so they set up this exhibition matches.

But the thing is that after we return to the norm, this matches still continue because there is demand. And when there is a demand for sure there are organizers that are willing to set up any fight because they know that the returns is huge.

The reason why sportsbooks add such games for betting is because they know these games usually get a lot of attention worldwide because those who are involved are famous celebrities and well-known people, so they are surely going to attract a large audience, and in case that audience wants to make bets on the game, whether for profit or just for fun, they should be able to do it, and if one sportsbook does it, others will do it too because they wouldn't want their gamblers or customers to go to another platform only to make that bet, because they can potentially lose some users only because of this.

This is a pure revenue opportunity for sportsbooks, and there is no harm in allowing gamblers to make bets on such games even if they are not played by professional, at least the platforms can earn some money from the bets. In normal professional boxer those abilities can be speculated based on their previous matches but this is almost impossible to do if the involved players are celebrities not an athlete which is what happening on most of the exhibition match.

In real boxing, the beef is serious and both boxers compete mainly for a win, celebrity boxers holds back not to lead to serious casualties defying the essence of the match.

We have also seen in the media and even read in the news about how most of those kind of celebrities confronts themselves in outdoor events while security agencies don't let them have such disgraceful acts of fighting themselves in the public for no just cause.

When it comes to such celebrity matches, one thing that comes to my mind is that it should be obviously a showcase match and would be scripted.
Celebrities are hungry for fame and controversies and these matches give them exactly that.
But coming to betting on such matches, it all depends on my mood during that session.
If I want to have fun then may be I will bet on the match but if not then I will probably skip betting on it.

Miracles can happen too in boxing. As long as your opponent has his both hands swinging, there is still a chance that it can hit you anytime, like a hail mary shot that will end the fight on his favor.

We have witnessed a lot of fights that we think that a fighter is losing, but suddenly he hit the other party with a swing shot that the opponent didn't see and goes down to the canvass. So it could happen to  any fight, including celebrity matches.

Id you are someone who looks for pure entertainment and fun this is for you, celebrities boxing matches are fun and hilarious, this is my type of game because with or without betting you are sure going to laugh.

This feels more like walking into a cinema to watch a funny movie, you sure know that your money spent on ticket isn't going to waste, this is one of those ways you live as a human, this is beyond betting or gambling, it's something more.

Still, I wouldn't want to risk a lot of money that will possibly hinder that pure fun feeling, if high amount of money is on the table you won't be able to enjoy the match that much, you mind will be more concerned about the money you risked.
