Former vice president Atiku Abubakar (GCON) is still on his quest to becoming the Nigerian president by all means, this is not the first time his sabotaging his party men. He did this same thing in 2022 after they already agreed in 2018 that if his given the ticket to run for the 2019 elections, he will give way after the North had completely their own 8 years turn which was due in 2023, he agreed and was given the ticket to run in 2019 with Peter Obi as his vice. In 2022, he declared interest to run again and he was reminded that it's the turn of the South to produce a presidential candidate for the 2023 elections, Atiku refused. Buhari who's a Northern will finish his 8 years tenure the next year and you from the same North wants to continue, how does that even make any sense. Peter Obi on seeing this, knew he could not compete with the men involved because they were going to be exchanging Ghana-must-go bags ( Nigerians understands what this means) he left and went to Labour Party were he was given ticket to run in their platform. When two people from the same family fights, they just ended up dividing the numbers of supporters as against the real opposition that's exactly what happened.
Fast forward to this 2024, a coalition was formed and named ADC, they needed powerful men to join hands together and opposed this government, it worked as major men in Nigerian politics joined the coalition. They know that power is supposed to remain at the South for another 4 years before moving back to the North in 2031, so every virtue, Atiku isn't even supposed to pick interest in the ticket but guess what, he declared interest to run again despite knowing that the party already has Southern candidates. If you want to challenge him in party primaries, he will always win 10 outta 10 because he has the money to throw around to get the ticket. The same way Atiku sabotaged the last election and divided the votes is the same thing his about to do now, a strong man like Atiku has his loyalist and supporters. He wants to become president but doesn't want to wait for his turn at it, this is one area Tinubu is way ahead, he understands politics. Tinubu owns APC but in 2015 he didn't run because he knew it was the turn of the North, he stayed back and instead picked and supported Buhari, he knew after the 8 years, power is to be shifted to the South and that's when he picked interest and ran for it. What stops Atiku from understanding this.

I don’t completely support your claim, politics is not like normal life settings that’s why they refer to it as a dirty game, there is no permanent friend or permanent agreement or permanent alliance, it’s just a game of interest and mind you interest is relative it can be changed at anytime depending on what is involved. If you observe Atiku is getting old, he doesn’t have as much time as Obi and Amaechi who are far younger, he already has money and all he is looking for currently is power just like the way Tinubu was seeking power previously, if Atiku go by the whole party agreement that since Buhari a Northern man has ruled that it is time to return power back to the South tell me when it will come back to his turn, mind you each president is staying for 8years, 8years from now Atiku will be very weak physically because he is already an old man that is why you see that he is fighting everything to ensure that he wins, secondly in most of this their alignment Atiku is the one spending the money, Obi doesn’t want to spend because of that his ideology of not spending shi shi, now tell me will Atiku be the one spending the money while Obi will now want them to make him the flag bearer? Mind you if Obi win he can still kick Atiku out not minding whatever agreement that they have, you see politics it’s not the way we see it, it is very deep and unpredictable, forget all this one Obi is doing it is when he wins you will see his true color. Let all man struggle his own way to win so that tomorrow none of them will complain or feel entitled.

He may be or not. But this is democracy, anybody is allowed to run. For me, I don't think Atiku is sabotaging anything.
That rubbish rotation of power is very insane. It will never produce the best candidate for the job. But frequently produce criminals to run for president. I think the politicians know this. But they won't stop it because of their own selfish interest.
Tinubu is a criminal that shouldn't be praised at all for understanding how to rig himself into power. That shouldn't be normal at all. He no dey normal.
Democracy is will never work in Nigeria. Even the best countries on earth don't run democracy. Atiku is taking advantage of the situation.
Peter Obi on the other hand made the right call to leave PDP and going into labour party.
Atiku might likely get the ADC ticket and still perform is cheap way of getting a presidential ticket. But, he will always lose.
My question goes like this. Do you think zoning, this shifting of power to regions should be practiced more?

Is e sabotage? Maybe not intentional, but the effect na the same. Atiku get every right to contest but as an elder statesman wey done try many times, some people expect him to play kingmaker or support a stronger southern candidate wey fit pull vote from everywhere but instead the ego and na my turn some cost the whole opposition. But make we no forget, obi and kwakwanso also get their own ambition and nobody wan play second fiddle. Na the same old politics wey we de complain about. For me I feel whether atiku na saboteur or very ambitious politician, the real na the Nigerians wey want serious alternative to Tinubu. Now votes go scatter again and incumbency go laugh last.
Make una wait o, you believe say say atiku fit still join NDC later or he go remain for ADC till the end?

Considering the fact that the country multi ethnic and since democracy they have resolved to shift power between the North and South every 8 years so no side will say they are been trampled upon and it's fair to both sides. It's left for the south to pick amongst themselves who will be the flag bearer for each parties. Atiku is a reckless spender and believes so much in vote buying, we all saw what happened between him and Wike in 2022 primaries when they splashed dollars but Atiku spent more and got the ticket. I don't like the current president but I admire his political structure, it shows that he understands the game and politics itself is a game and can only be won by those who knows how to play it. Atiku had his chance by 2019 and he couldn't beat his fellow Northern back then when it was rightly theres

I might not agree with you on this because that someone who has been nurturing his interest for a particular position over decades declares his intentions to run for that office doesn't mean he is a saboteur and should be seen as a betrayal, whether we like it or not politics is a game of interest and the highest bidder goes home smiling. I think the reason why Atiku is still coming out this time is because he is getting old and won't have this opportunity to contest again. Well, looking at it from another point of view Atiku Abubakar is not supposed to declare his intentions to run for the presidency because the ticket is supposed to go to the South this time around and by so doing he should have forfeit it but whatever be the case Peter Obi did the right thing by defecting to another party where he can be given the ticket, it would have been very swift in removing Tinubu from power if Atiku and Peter Obi where in the same party and working together because as it stands now the votes will be divided against Tinubu and he will surely win.
