I really wonder how you guys managed to link overthinking with confidence, because to the best of my knowledge, this two has absolutely no connection, overthinking simply destroys concentration, attention and so on, it's not the same as being confident, over thinking is one thing and over confidence is completely another thing, they are both like two major roads that didn't meet or join anywhere.

When we overthink, we lose concentration in what we are doing which could lead to mistakes that some times can be irreparable, take for example one who is trying to place a bet on a football match and at the same time, overthinking about something else, that lack of concentration brought about by too much thinking can cause the gambler to make a mistake which could potentially lead to lose, except he or she still well lucky enough to still end up winning regardless of the errors made.
So in the nutshell, overthinking and confidence have no commonality, both are separate and different in their ways.

my definition of overthinking if i were to be ask will always be more of a negative thing than a positive one. If somebody should overthink about something, it means they are being doubtful or unsure about it and they are now being extremely skeptical about their next decision towards the same thing, causing them to over think their decisions. The effects of overthinking is it does not allow one to make the right decisions most of the time even when the decision is right in front of them. It is also as a result of lack of confidence to be overthinking about your gambling game instead of making a decision after making your analysis. Overthinking can lead to a situation where, if you had doubts about a particular bet, those doubts will only grow stronger over time. And of course, because of those doubts, you may end up missing some good bets that later turn out to be winners. But on the other hand, I don’t really see anything wrong with that, because if this overthinking ultimately makes you a more cautious bettor, then I don’t think it’s such a bad thing.

Sometimes, gamblers don't just pump in a lot of money to a bet because they only wanna big but because of their strategy. Exactly, there's a need of proper analysis and assessment not just to follow the odds and hope for some luck, though there are lucky gamblers who managed to win but in most cases, analysis can give you some decent edge especially when you know the game and you understand how the players or the team are doing their system you can select them to place your bet as you see good advantage against their opponents.
