Ghana is already considering passing a bill where every child will undergo DNA testing at child birth. I desperately need Nigeria to follow suit as it will curb the paternity fraud title we have. Ranking 2nd place in the world, that's insane. Every child deserves to know their biological father.

I don’t really have an idea how well paternity fraud has been on an increase in this country, or let me say in Africa. I only thought those things have effect more or happen more in the western part of the world and not really much of it around here. If this is how rampant it is also getting here, then justice deserves to be given to those that needs them because this is a big crime and an injustice to the person being defraud.

The main question remains, can Nigeria afford this? Will the government use those data later against us? Will this destroy marriages and relationships?

Nigeria can afford this if they want to because I don’t see it as a big deal, Nigeria can immediately make it free and anyone can come do it for free after childbirth.

The government has nothing bad to use against us from these datas, I doubt so if there is any.

This will infact destroy many homes and families and that’s the disadvantageous part of it that many people won’t like the idea of making it compulsory. Some people prefer to live with those kids like that and think they’re their real children rather than having to know he is not the biological father.

The idea of implementing compulsory DNA test for children from birth is a very good development but you should be ready to experience constant marriage failures because over 30 percent of children do not belong to there biological fathers but where only covered because there is nothing to prove the real identity of those children.
The way women are behaving now it is very difficult to trust them on fidelity matters but need to pray that once woman will not be among those that do so. But that idea will be a very good one to prevent men spending on children that will at last turn not to be there's but belongs to another man at last

If it’s implemented in Nigeria, I will be so happy , there should be a stop to this paternity fraud ,  everyone has the right to know their biological  father , DNA test is a must do for every child , I know it’s gonna break so many marriages but the truth must unveil, the rate at which woman get pregnant and pin it on another person is alarming but if these DNA testing at birth is carried out so many will retrace their footsteps, and I believe Nigeria can afford it if they truly want it.

Like I said there are more important issues to address rather than spending billions of naira on paternity tests. The government should prioritise healthcare and education. The public hospitals are not working, you can hardly get the help you need there. I found out recently that a state in Nigeria gives 500 naira to women after delivery, I still dey confused as to wetin that money won reach person do.

OP this matter you talk about so na good one oh but the question you need to ask be say "how many marriages go scatter if them put this thing to law, how many"? Plenty things wey go dey happen eh, the curses wey women go curse our leaders go pass the ones the whole country dey join mouth curse them. This too is important as the development of health care and education. You need to see men crying when they hear the kid is not his own. Come on. You can't sideline this one as not important. Not one man. Men bro. I wouldn't want this to happen to me. So development like this will definitely help. With the name alone. Paternity fraud. Fraud there is a crime. Put together and you have a complete evil done by a human to another. Sure, healthcare and education with other things are important. But this is a crime and can't be overlooked.
