I’m still new to crypto and trying to learn little by little.
Some things are easy to understand, but other things like wallets, networks, and gas fees can still be confusing sometimes.
So I wanted to ask others here: what was the hardest thing for you to understand when you first started learning crypto, and how did you finally learned and understand it perfectly?

Everything is going to feel complicated when you just starting out or your just a newbie in crypto, so the hard thing is to try to learn everything because there were just a lot of information what you are going to take in, It's a good thing that you are already here in the forum because you could learn a lot here, not to mention that the forum could easily help you directly on your problems or issue in case you don't understand something or you want some kind of advice, easily you could make a post here just make sure to read and learn the rules and post it on the right section.
There was no other way around the information about wallets, networks etc. It was really complicated, you just need to research it watch a lot of videos, but I guess the easiest way was just to experience it in order to fully understand it, I always tell most of the newbies to start there crypto journey already because it is the best way to learn it, it doesn't really mean that you need to invest a huge amount, I mean I would suggest to start on a very low amount, where you are comfortable at, since at this phrase you are most likely to make a mistake, but that is just where you could learn.
Still, this forum could help you a lot, and you could take advantage of it to prevent those mistakes.

The hardest thing for me to understand was that most of the info you will get in social media, video platforms and websites contributes almost nothing and on many occasions subtracts. If you want an advice, start with very small amounts, separate them in different addresses or even better wallets, and make it a routine to read this forum a little every day. It's one of the few reliable sources today, at least that I know of, which does not mean that you do not maintain prudence, because everywhere you can find people who try to scam you.

Everything was difficult in the beginning, but if we have the will to learn and if you are interested in working carefully towards investment, then nothing will seem difficult. But we need to be a little careful about security, for a small mistake we will have to face a lot of losses, so we have to work with a lot of caution about security.

I started learning about cryptocurrency mining over 10 years ago, and back then, I had to research a lot of information myself or ask questions on forums. Now, any AI can answer many questions and save you a ton of time. You shouldn't believe everything AI says, but it can help you learn the basics and find the information you need very quickly.

I don't know what materials you are using to learn about Bitcoin network, wallets, fees, etc., but you should check this one out: https://learnmeabitcoin.com/It's one of my favourites. The author did a hell of a job. He treated the topics you mentioned in detail, and the English is easy to grasp.

I'm still learning as well but I think wallets and networks can be manageable to understand since there are thousands of articles that could provide knowledge on the matter. I think for me is the way to trade the market and I think a lot will agree with me on that. Trading crypto is definitely the difficult one, I guess for some it's not but in my humble opinion, it is. Well, I didn't get a lot of time to master it but somehow I'm still learning and most traders do. Just hang in there, patience, it takes time. We all start from being confuse on one thing but a little digging, getting your hands dirty on the matter you'll surely know how it works.

The technical aspect of Bitcoin took me quite some time to understand. I was always asking questions on the technical boards, watching YouTube videos, asking my man who has always been my mentor, and still doing research whenever the need arises. It will amaze you to know that even after all those early days of learning and the follow-ups after that, I still can't beat my chest and say that I fully understand the technical side of Bitcoin. I am not alone in this; many people are still like that.
For now, things may seem a bit complicated, but do not get yourself confused. Start by learning the basics, and from there, you can dive deeper into other aspects that seem difficult to understand. You need time and consistency to fully understand some things about Bitcoin.

So I wanted to ask others here: what was the hardest thing for you to understand when you first started learning crypto, and how did you finally learned and understand it perfectly?
The economic aspect of cryptocurrency, the market, how the price of some cryptocurrency goes up despite the lack of use, how the pump and dump works and how people manipulate prices. I totally skipped the trading aspect since it is quite hard and even with deep understanding, predictions often times don't work. I finally learn it through reading and browsing the thread in this forum. I found out that these price manipulators have channel to discuss plans on how and when to pump or crash the price. While most cryptocurrency increase in price due to outside force pumping the market in order to sell and take profit at the end.

I can't remember everything in full details but I know that it was a complicating experience for me and to make it worse, I was forcing myself to understand everything just as they come but it wasn't working. So the hardest thing I'll say is not accepting that crypto isn't something that I can read and have full understanding of how it works at a short period of time. Regardless of how much I read the technical parts of crypto, I needed to start practically using crypto to have a better understanding of how they actually work. At the end, I'm very happy I exercised enough patience to learn.

Depending on the kind of social media posts that you search for, if you search on YouTube for various cryptocurrency related videos that actually teaches you a thing in cryptocurrency it works, but wrong to allow your social media feeds and notifications to exposes you to your cryptocurrency informations because you get only sponsored articles in that which is mostly misleading. If you want to get the best Information and teaching about cryptocurrency just make your search, both on the forum and social media always make your own research and not depends entirely on third-party advice or information that does not include a reference.

Having real privacy. It was a very difficult lesson to learn as it has a VERY steep learning curve but I believe I got the hang of it with experience. Most people start by believing Bitcoin is anonymous. Then by the time they learn what pseudonymity is, they already leaked every little detail behind as a clear track. But then you learn that even if you use separate wallets, renewed addresses et cetera, a lot of effort is still needed if you want to keep them separated from permanently supervising eyes such as those of Blockchain Analysis companies.
It takes a long time to not only get used to it but to get used to not making any mistakes. Because considering it is pseudonymous, little mistakes can reveal almost every thing if not every thing. You can have top level privacy for years and one mistake can cost all that effort. Imagine the frustration. So coin control, address freezing, coin joins, Tor, mixers, they all helped me out and I believe I can now defeat a Blockchain Analysis tool with ease by either confusing it or never feeding it any useful information.
It cost me more, it made things a lot more complicated, it made me angry every now and then particularly when I realized I made mistakes but here I am. Happy with the results of no body getting to know who I really am.

Thank you all for the advice and experiences shared here. One thing I’m starting to understand is that learning crypto takes time and patience, especially for beginners.
I also noticed many of you mentioned that practical experience and doing personal research are very important instead of depending completely on social media information.
Honestly, reading the different experiences here is helping me understand things better and also making me more careful about security and scams.
I appreciate everyone who contributed to the discussion.
quillbot 100% Copyleaks AI Content Detected Can I give you some advice that will help you continue to exist safely on the forum? Don't use AI to write your posts. This quoted post clearly indicates that you are using AI, and this is still an isolated case that does not need to be repeated. We all came here by people who don't know much about cryptocurrencies, you can read the first posts of the old participants and make sure that no one is required to be here with a doctoral thesis. Patience and slowness will give you a lot. Focus on the one question that interests you, and until you understand it, do not rush to move on. AI can be a good helper nowadays, but people on the forum who have their own experience and opinion will give you the best information, explaining it as simply as you are ready to understand it. Feel free to ask questions and discuss anything that is not clear.

I admitted that learning crypto is not easy for first. You mention about the wallet, I remembered that I pick many wallets type and installed it in my phone or my PC, just want to see the differences. But all of that wallet needs satoshi inside to make a transaction which I don't have much at that time.
So I pick bitcoin core wallet and Electrum from Bitcoin.org after I follow the instruction choosing the wallet. I installed Bitcoin core wallet in my PC and installed Electrum on my phone.
I am not learned much about the network and the gas as that will manage by the wallet and I only need to follow the instruction. But I am far from the perfectly and still learned and consider that I am still a newbie.
Sometimes learning by doing gives you more experiences than just reading so you will understand more the process.

The hardest thing I experienced when I was new to this forum and learning crypto was the pretty many types of crypto networks and what the differences were. And what became very crucial and my fatal mistake was to create a wallet and store assets that I didn't fully know.
Initially, creating a wallet only relied on a centralized Exchange wallet that did not have a private key or was called a Custodial Wallet. Meanwhile, the wallet that we can really control ourselves is a Non-Custodial wallet.
This mistake became my fatal mistake when working on several projects and the coins were sent to the wallet exchange that did not register the coins from the project I worked on and in the end could not be retrieved because I had no control over the wallet.

Learning is hard but not too difficult, and above replies already give you enough resources for learning. I only remind you that learning is good, and very important but for actually absorb what you learned, and apply it to your practice well is very different. Practically it is challenging with most people, especially in things related to security and privacy. You can read and learn with many reminders about security and privacy, DOs and DON'Ts but practically you skip many advice and make bad practice. Honestly, that was my challenge before I truly understood super dangerous practice like using custodial wallets and storing fund on centralized exchanges. Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.

The hardest part is funding, when I first enter crypto how to buy and funding is the hardest thing, but soon i realized i can earn without spending money just need to look for the opportunity and that was airdrop, at first how to setup wallet and to do task are the things that is also a challenge, especially this days, there are lots of requirement needed like, social account etc.,

I think I delayed doing p2p transaction even after I had known a lot about crypto and bitcoin in particular. With time, I later learnt how easy P2P is and it tells of how we assume things are deficult just because we don't want to learn about it. With time, you will understand that nothing is too complex for you to understand in crypto. If you put your mind at it and research on it, the most complex thing will appear simple. The difference between what you don't know In crypto and you is just the willingness to learn.
