What is the hardest things for you to understand when you started learnin crypto

I’m still new to crypto and trying to learn little by little.

Some things are easy to understand, but other things like wallets, networks, and gas fees can still be confusing sometimes.

So I wanted to ask others here: what was the hardest thing for you to understand when you first started learning crypto, and how did you finally learned and understand it perfectly?

For me, gas fees where a bit stressful uring my esrly days in this crypto journey not until I stopped paying attention to them and when I want to spend when the need arise, I simply had to switch to usdt and pay just $1 as gas fees, this worked for me but might not for you and another challenge I had while coming up in this field was environment because I was in an environment where it seems I was the only  one who was interested in crypto as at then and talking to people about crypto seemed like telling them about ponzi schemes because most of the people in my neighborhood think of crypto as ponzi scheme even more like gambling because when I came Into crypto, I came in through the trading windows, so attention was more on trading  than holding but I'm glad I'm now holding right and tight.

Being active on the forum gave me a lot of advantage when I started out my journey in crypto, I wasn't misguided like a lot of people are currently because I had access to quality informations. My challenge before I got introduced to the forum was how to use exchanges and wallets. A lot of beginners have fallen for p2p scams because they were not properly educated on things like this before getting involved in it. Gone are those days where people get scammed because there are lots of informations out there to guide you as a beginner.

Without proper guide, you will more easily use centralized exchanges and your accounts there as your Bitcoin wallets. You even don't know that it's custodial wallet and you don't own private key, hence don't control your bitcoin.

With time, you can be taught about non custodial wallets by any resource, in this forum or somewhere else. After understanding difference between custodial and non custodial wallets, risk of custodial wallets, you can migrate from custodial wallet to non custodial wallets for full control of your bitcoin.

Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.

A lot of beginners have fallen for p2p scams because they were not properly educated on things like this before getting involved in it.

If people are careful, they will read guides on P2P platforms and be able to avoid scams there.

As for the highly complex technical aspects, I’m still in the learning phase because I don’t yet fall into the category of experienced users.
When I first got into Bitcoin and crypto, the complexity was overwhelming for quite some time. It felt like everything was complicated, but things started to change as I went along. Another thing is trading. I’m still confused about that, aside from spot trading.
If I had to name the single most difficult aspect, I wouldn’t know where to start. But technical issues might be my answer.

This forum is a cryptocurrency forum and if you are in this forum you will surely know a lot about cryptocurrency, a lot of the things I know today and the little technical knowledge I have today came from this forum, this forum is a good place to learn about cryptocurrency especially if you want to know more about bitcoin, the DCA strategy I’m using today I got the idea from this forum, if you are investing in bitcoin or you are into cryptocurrency and you are not in a forum like this you will miss a lot, the best part of an crypto investor is the people he surround himself with, if you surround yourself with people that has same mindset with you trust me you are going to do well.

As a beginner, alot of things appear much technical even when they are not. The best approach is to learn in bits and then try to practice what you have learnt. If you don't practice, everything will be like some kind of theory or hypothesis.

I had similar problem when I was learning about security my wallets by setting up a 2/3 segwit wallet such that I will have to sign from two different devices before I can authorise transaction.

I read so much theory and it made alot of sense to me, but practicing it, I was clueless. But I got help from the forum and when I finally started trying it out by practice, I understood very well how it works.
So, as you learn, try and practice.
