I will like to hodl 7 coins, I have invested 90% of my money on bitcoin which is more than just an investment but also an Inflation-resistant asset for me, so I am not selling at all.

The problem is that I need 6 altcoins that I can invest the remaining 10% of my money on. I have thought of sol, bnb and few other coins but I just want to hear the opinions from you all and know the good reason you invested or which to invest on the altcoins.

I do not trust altcoins, I can afford to lose the 10% money but I will not like that to happen.

In terms of investment, I always think that Bitcoin is reliable and there is a high risk of profit from here. However, there are some altcoins that are very popular, many people invest so much, and plan to keep it for a long time. In particular, I have a few favorite altcoins that are not very risky to invest in, but since you have invested 90% in Bitcoin, and 10% in altcoins, it is normal. Since you are taking risks in altcoins, I think you should invest in the few that are in your top ranking, as they have a high risk of profit if you keep them for a long time. Especially there are some coins like Ethereum, BNB, SOL, LTC, XRP, etc. that you can join and expect high profits in the future. If you want to lose 10%, I think you can take risks in these coins and make a lot of profit from them in the future if you are lucky.

I cannot guarantee you any coins that would stand the test of time like Bitcoin since I'm also very sure that you have not reached your over accumulation stage. It can not get too much for your bitcoin so instead of buying some Altcoins that would expose you to emotional trauma or perhaps, loosing your money. All the Altcoins you mentioned and many more are good but hasn't won everyone's trust.

Why I love bitcoin is that if nearly follows a rythmic system of bitcoin cycle, even when it appears like the cycle is irrelevant but over the years it has repeatedly followed such path. You can add that money to your bitcoin, it's not heavy for the wallet.

I believe that you are knowledgeable enough to know that alt and meme coin are more of gambling than investment, because it's just a matter of trying your luck to see if any of them will comes good, but it's a good thing that you are treating it like gambling, by using only 10% of your discretionary income, since it's what you can afford to lose.

So I can suggest like three or four alt coin to you since you are interested in risking your money on them, and those coins are Solana, optimism, bnb and mnt the bybit coin. All these alt coin I made mentioned are coin that I believe that have a bright future, and are coins that I think that the risk on them are worth it, but this is not a financial advice because alt and meme coin are notoriously known to falls more than they rise.

 It's good that you've allocated the highest portion of your discretionary to Bitcoin since it's the best for investment and most trustworthy amongst all. Well there's no harm in diversifying to other coins although I don't fully trust them like Bitcoin and would rather diversity to other form of investments like Gold, land etc.

 But if i'm to pick my next seven coins after Bitcoin it would be Ethereum, followed by Monero (XMR), then BNB and Solana, XRP, Cardano (ADA) in that order, then a stable coin (USDT). Not yet sure of the memecoins or clown coins rather, I dislike that dump very easily.

Altcoins are a no go area for me,  after all those losses I incurred last two years ago. So I made a decision that I won't near it again. Altcoins are not reliable,  they look cheap in the eyes but can give you fast profits. But the disadvantages of it, is the y have low liquidity, your full capital can go to zero because the owner can decide to dump . The risk in Altcoins and also memecoins is very high. Most of them are driven by hype from community after a while when the hype has died, that's when the coin will also start to dump. This because they don't have real value unlike Bitcoin. For me Bitcoin should be one focus of investment, it has solid background and not owned or controlled by anyone. The only coins I fell are okay, are Eth, Sol, bnb.

Risk is risk, you can't win if you don't try but the 10% is enough for altcoins considering the fact that you have 90% allocated to Bitcoin. If you are going to buy altcoin, you should consider coins that are valuable, I mean cons that people will always return to when we enter bull run. For instance, BNB is a good coin, they have quarterly buy back mechanism to reduced the circulating supply and as well as utility coin to Binance, this are the kind of alt you should have on your portfolio.

Just like you said, you should consider sol, it's a movement for meme coins, people like free and quick money and SOL will remain one of the demanding coin. However, you should do well and check unlock coins schedule and sine history of some coins. There are some altcoins that are having big market cap but they are very bad for hold due to their mistakes and some fight between holders and investors and do well to check whales, I still remember what happened to Mantra tokens last years, not a good experience.

Still in decentralization, I've heard some good stuffs about TAO and RNDR and I have a liking since they're linked to AI advancement.

It is not bad if we can risk at least 10% of our money on outcomes after we must have invested in Bitcoin, this is the right idea to take as strategy when it comes to cryptocurrency and the priority to which should we invest first, after bitcoin then comes any other altcoin, but I will suggest that you follow the order of coinmarketcap listings to determine which are the first six to add up to your crypto portfolio aside your investment on Bitcoin, you may probably end up making more profit and the coins you invested are found reliable to perform.

Is a good thing that you already know the potential risk involved and that it's never guaranteed in any way. Perhaps you are still not comfortable losing even the little you said you can afford to lose, then if that's the case I will suggest you channel that little 10% you intent risking on alt coin into Bitcoin that is more safer and reliable.

But if you insist, here are some few once I can recommend to you: Ethereum, Solana  etc . But, hope you are pretty aware that nothing is literally guaranteed in the crypto world.

I will look into the coin but I do not like new projects because I have lost significant amount of money on many new coins. Let us see what other people will comment about Chamby on this thread.

The path you've choosen the right path, as much as many of us believe only in bitcoin, it's is a basic fact that it's not only bitcoin that will make investors profit, good altcoins can and will still make investors likely more profit than bitcoin would, the only advantage of investing in bitcoin now is that it's like a fireproof asset where investment won't fail to yield good result so long as the investor is patient enough, so we can say that the risk of investing in bitcoin is critically low, while the risk of investing in altcoins is higher and the height will depend on the altcoin choosen, but so also is the profit potentials.

Here are my personal choices when it comes to choosing altcoins to invest in for the long term.

1. BNB
2. Near protocol
3. Rhea finance
4. Ton
5. Maybe Solana, but I am very OK with the mentioned four.

Now that might not be up six, and the reason is investing in altcoin doesn't have anything to do with the number of alts choosen, it's about the quality of the alts you choose to invest in..
I may not also have mentioned why I choose four, but maybe you will make out time to do your own research on each of them and find out why yourself

My personal confidence in altcoins is almost zero. Even if you can lose 10% of your funds, that's the money you've earned, so I would advise you to buy Bitcoin with your entire fund. I have a very bad experience with altcoins, so I advise everyone to save only Bitcoin.

I have had experience with several meme coins that are widely circulated, but if you look at their price history you will lose trust in that. So I recommend you to limit yourself to the three coins you mentioned.

The truth is that no one is sure of altcoin that will be profitable, I don't trust any altcoin because they have delt with me. Bitcoin is a coin that you can predict the outcome in the nearest future but altcoins are unpredictable because most of it don't have potential for long term value, so I will say you should just gamble with what you can afford to lose. I don't have a particular altcoin coin to suggest but if you decide to try out, you can just do some research or invest in the ones that have been suggested for you, but bear it in mind that no altcoin is guaranteed for long term profit.

As a Nigerian, my first goal is to invest in an inflation resistant asset and that is Bitcoin. Indeed I have invested in many altcoins in the past and by applying the right strategy to those altcoins in the cryptocurrency market, it was not possible to get significant dividends from the investment. So OP, since you have the capacity to bear a 10% naira loss on your investment, there is a very small chance that you will lose the entire amount if you invest in some potential altcoins, those coins are Ethereum, BNB, and Solana and it should be limited to these three coins but you should know how to manage the risk before investing in these coins.

The smaller your altcoin list, the less likely you are to lose. In my country's financial landscape, Bitcoin is the only asset that is resistant to inflation. Not just in our country but in every country where fiat is depreciating.

I would advise against taking any more risks by buying altcoins other than Bitcoin. However, since you are prepared to lose 10% of your funds, I recommend adding ETH and XRP to your portfolio.

Your question made me realise how far I've gone without altcoins, which is unusual of me. Since many months now, it has always been Bitcoin for trading and investing. But still, "old school never dies.

But first, you've done yourself a good job by opting for 90% Bitcoin, so a tiny 10% in altcoins would do you no harm even if all of them fails. Therefore, I advice you to go for those coins with high liquidity, such as ETH, BNB, SOL and XRP, then add 2 exchanges tokens to complete it. Good luck!

I agree with your statement that having some good altcoins and 1-2 strong exchange tokens along with Bitcoin can make the portfolio more balanced. So keeping 90% in Bitcoin and 10% in altcoins can be a good decision.

People do not get as much trust in altcoins as they do in Bitcoin. The main reason for this is that many altcoins become popular only because of the hype. Over time, the value of many altcoins decreases very easily, so there is a lot of risk in it.

On the other hand, Bitcoin is a much older and more well-known cryptocurrency. The biggest thing is that the maximum supply of Bitcoin is only 21 million. In the case of many altcoins, large companies or project owners can influence the price, but in the case of Bitcoin, this is not possible. That is hundred percent correct, there is great need for people to diversify when ever they are investing. This is a healthy investment pattern that people should always do because there are allot of benefits attached to diversying your assets. When it comes to crypto currency it's always good and advisable that you make Bitcoin your number one investment coin, this is because Bitcoin is the most safe coin that you can invest and be sure about your profit.


But talking about altcoin, altcoins such as BnB,XRP,Cardano,Etherium and Dogecoin are good coins that one  an invest .
