Czechia is imbalanced on this tournament. They can win Sweden but lose to Slovenia that has ended 7th in group B. Be outplaying Canada half of the game, but lose 1-4 to Norway. I also think Finland would go next. Definitely Canada would pass USA. USA isnt performing great this year. Switzerland would beat Sweden. Norway I think will beat Latvia. Norway indeed is playing good this year. Lost to Slovakia and were close to make a sensation against Canada. Latvia is a rare guest in 1/4. I think they 1) lack experience of playing so far in tournament 2) already gave all their strength to get to 1/4.

I should have bet money Finland, Canada, Switzerland and Norway will be 4 countries that will fight for medals. I can congratulate Norway, they will end on 4th place, but they have never been so high in rank since 1950s (yeah, I am nerd and went checking wiki ). Last +10 years they finished World Cup on 10-13 places. I think their achievement is much valuable than Finland, Canada and Switzerland and their medals. Most probably Canada will take gold once again.

Was tired to post yesterday after the games, so, I'll do it only now. I supported Latvia, but I admit that Norway were much better and after such journey it would be simply unfair if they wouldn't reach semifinals.
While rest of games ended as expected. Considering whole tournament perfromance, Sweden is main disappointment for me.
It's difficult to expect that Norway is capable to challenge Switzerland, while Canada is favored a bit, their advantage against Finland isn't that big, expecting to see great game.

Statistically, it can be said that Norway is at its finest in decades. Coming to semifinal is an indication of their efforts on the ice. Canada is still the favourite to win the gold but there is bound to be a very stiff challenge against Finland. The loss of Sweden, to the world hockey fans, definitely came as a surprise. The other big game will also be a real test to the psychological readiness of the team.

Finland beats Canada 4:2 and goes to the final. I expected that Canada will have much bigger advantage, but it didn't happened. Finland with their game tonight deserved to play in the final where they already won't be in underdog role.
Not much what to say about othersemifinal. Switzerland did what they were supposed to do, maybe only score 6:0 is a bit too big.

Must have been a very tactical match, where both teams must have been scared and didn't risk much....if that's even possible in hockey
Anyway congrats Finland on winning the World Championship!

Still surprised that Norway has become a force in hockey!
When I was following hockey during my youth they were the laughing stock of Scandinavia - all credit to Norway!

I dont know which game yesterday raised  more emotions. Final game that almost got to overtime. Game where Finland became champions by beating Switzerland at home. Tbh, there only few good moments in this game. Both teams played to cautious. Or the game for bronze medals, where surprisingly Norway outplayed Canada with MPV Sidney Crosby. I think game for bronze I liked more. There where more drama. Canada was losing for 58 minutes !!! Took goolie out and scored twice in one minute.

Even if we didn't saw goals in Switzerland -Finalnd game, there was enough action. Switzerland is cursed - they lost final 3rd year in a row. And I think that Finland deserved gold a bit more. Switzerland didn't even made nothing dangerous playing 5 on 3. And on extra time time Finland were more dangerous. But I'll repeat what I said during Olympics - I don't like overtime format 3 on 3. IMO, in the final they should proper 20 minutes 5 on 5 and then go to shootout.
I'm happy that Norway survived. Canada showed that they don't care about bronze, they only started to play in last few minutes. For Norway it's first ever medal in World Championship, I'm sure how much it means for them.

Yeap, that 5 vs 3 by the end of first period, and no goal in the beginning of second period was a shame. During break they could have created dozen strategies; ask ChatGPT at least Wasted their moment. I dont like overtime 3 vs 3 and game until first goal either. I prefer old system, 4 vs 4 and they play 10 min, then switch sides and continue without a pause. At least they have fixed penalty rules. There was a time when you have penalty, opponent scored, but you continue to sit and wait... That was really a bs.

Dunno if Canada really "dont care about the bronze", as they have made 46 shots on goal while Norway only 22
