Why a new image hosting? When TalkImg was down, I noticed I didn't know where to upload my images. So I decided to create an image upload for BitList. Also, I wrote the code from the ground, so I can implement new features as needed without being limited to the constraints of typical image hosting scripts. UPLOAD YOUR IMAGE
SUBJECT | STORY |
|
|
| What is it? | - Dead simple, convenient image hosting for Bitcointalk!: BitList.co/Upload. - Select, drop, or paste an image, then upload it right away. Editing is optional! - You can resize, crop, or compress any image.
|
|
| Features | - Direct, BBcode link generation. - File formats: PNG, GIF, JPEG, JPG - Select images up to 10 MB - Compression is available natively if the image is bigger than the 2.5 MB BitcoinTalk limit - Edit before upload option!

Is it working? I guess it is. Btw, it would be better if you included the "delete link" as talkimg does. Just my two sats.. What I really liked about this new image hosting tool is that it accepts 10mb source files. Talkimg doesn't, which was a headache for me. Bcoz, when I tried to upload something that I captured with my phone, it won't. Normal images aren't more than 2.5 mb, but images captured from mobile is more than than 5-10mb. And talkimg's zip tool is a bit unstable/buggy. So I just hope, this time Bitlist can handle bigger file sizes properly.

Great job. I especially liked the live resize functionality. It is really useful since I can now upload images larger than 2.5 MB without any issue, then convert it into smaller size. One small feature that could make it even better would be showing an approximate output image size after resizing. Also, I wanted to ask for your permission. Can I include this service for my userscript? Since we can't upload gif's on hostmeme.. Ultimate Bitcointalk Userscript: Modern Editor + One-Click Image Upload

I see Bitlist is growing all the time, and it's great to see image hosting is the new tool in it's arsenal. For a long time I have been using Talkimg for uploading images, but I will test and compare it with this new tool. I will post my feedback after few days of usage, but lets hope ddos attacks won't slow it down or make it unavailable.

Hello TryNinja, I just proposed your topic to be translated by the AOBT for the local sections/boards. Hope that's okay, that you'll be happy to hear that. Currently at AOBT we can cover around 18 languages (if I did the counting right), so surely that'll help your tool reach a lot of folks around the local boards. And lastly, who doesn't like free promotions?! Regard, -DS

BitList is going beyond its initial proposal by integrating new features, and that's great. It's good to have options that are, in a way, designed for forum users. Thank you, TryNinja!

I am starting to think that portuguese speakers are the best developers in the world at least for Bitcointalk... A Portuguese and now a Brazilian with good services. @TryNinja @joker_josue You know what would be even cooler? I do not know if it is possible, but you could work together so that everything uploaded to one site is replicated to the other, and somehow a "load-balance" tool chooses the best hosting for that moment based on availability, country of origin, potential DDoS attack, etc... Why? Because if one service goes down, that is fine... we use the other to upload the images, but what about those that have already been uploaded and are temporarily unavailable?

This is quite a great tool with such great features as you clearly stated as above, and I'm happy we now have a forum friendly image hosting tool that can enable us to both crop our image and also automatically reduce its size to the maximum allowable size which is 2.5MB.. However, I just tested this tool and I noticed that there are 2 things I observed about it, and I will be happy if resolved amicably. And they include as follows. 1. I uploaded an image with a size of 2.83MB, of which I know that it's above the maximum size of 2.5MB, but I went ahead, trying to use and test the new "Resize" feature on this site, but instead of it to resize, it keeps displaying "could not process image". as shown below... So am I the only one experiencing this, or it is general? 2. While secondly, another thing I observed is that while trying to Upload an image, I noticed that I can't select more than one image at a time.i had to upload the images one after the other. So imagine if a person 20 has images to upload, that means he will have to go 20 times each by uploading one after another. So I will be glad if these can be checked.. thanks

Uploading multiple images will be possible soon.

The problem with this is: the forum only links an image to one URL. You can't switch to another server if the first one is down. Country of origin doesn't matter, all images go through the forum's image proxy.

You have done a good job op, i remember the period you are talking about, it was really frustrating as there was no way for me to post images I wanted to include in my posts back then due to Talkimg being down. If there were other alternatives as we have now because of you, it wouldn’t have been that frustrating. Thanks for your good work.

The problem with this is: the forum only links an image to one URL. You can't switch to another server if the first one is down. Yeah. That is why you would have to combine this idea with like an CDN services between this two hosting services, so that the URL is unique, no matter where it is hosted. Country of origin doesn't matter, all images go through the forum's image proxy.
Oh... sure! you are right!
