This is not the first time the US has done this. Measures such as discarding electronic devices and items provided by other countries are part of the standard protocol followed by the US President’s security team when visiting hostile nations. That is for security reason, and I believe the Chinese side would do the same if they visited the US.

However, publicly discarding things like that suggests it was a deliberate political message. As we know, the summit between the two sides yielded virtually no agreement. Trump gained nothing from this trip, and it could be said that it was a major failure.

I still don't know why Donald Trump keeps on washing their dirty clothes outside.

Implying that he could be self aware is a risky bet. Imho he probably thought that this would be some sort of power move. He obviously thought that he could make deals with his "nemesis" by praising him, because that's why he himself is motivated by.

I am willing to bet that he even gave Taiwan to them (or at least agreeing not to retaliate) behind closed doors in hopes of to be friends with Xi, which he clearly adores. But we'll have to wait and see.

This time I think his body language gave it away.  in most photos Trump is slumped and behind Xi.  Even his trademark grab their handshake pull them in failed when Xi just extended his arm further.

Now just like before the war in Ukraine, Putin is again visiting China after Trump.   They both want the war in Ukraine and the blockade to continue - China for it's Taiwan ambitions and Russia for it's oil ambitions.
