My preference with gambling is simple. Treat it as a mean of having fun and every other thing will most likely be eliminated. I know it's not as easy as it's said, but we can try to put our emotions aside. Gambling is very risky, and if you aren't playing carefully you will end up addicted. Addiction can harm you and put you into larger risk. The problem is recognising that one is becoming addicted so they will be able to make quick decisions to help stop it on time. Don't gamble with what you cannot afford to lose. I've seen many gamblers who fell be the way side, simply because they used money that were not meant for gambling to gamble hoping to make a fortune or flip the money and make profits...

That's true, treat gambling as an entertainment, you will get to enjoy it and be free with whatever thing that will want them to chase after their losses, and also they should avoid having the concept that gambling can be used as side hustle because of the money people wins through luck, once people get that mindset, they will find it hard to fixed up things when it has already gotten out of hand, that is why people are to make sure they are doing the right thing in gambling.

Let's not ignore that when a gambler is emotionally down or in grief, they indulge in activities that may seem to sooth their mood and if such a one is a gambler, it would be quite easy to just keep funding their accounts and keep betting whether they are losing or winning.

Gambling is not a source of income. Without luck on your side, notting else can guarantee you winnings. I think if you enter have the real understanding of what gambling, the chances of getting addicted to gambling will be their and this is why gamblers are greedy in gambling,  this is because they do not understand and they are controlled by greedy, lack of self control and so much confidence.  Good understanding of gambling makes one to understand one needs not to be desperate about gambling because gambling is unpredictable,  you only gamble with the amount that you can afford to lose. If there is anyone who has profited from chasing losses by getting what they actually wanted such person should count himself lucky, chasing losses is one of the worst scenario cases a gambler should be found as it drains your money, time and your mental health, every decision are made under pressure, speaking from experience though I have learnt from my mistake, being a new gambler who was even lucky to secure some winning earlier in to gambling when the losses started I felt different and reacted based on my emotions but now I easily accept defeat and never chase at my losses anymore.

Best way is to stop gambling and thats it. A person that plays whenever or whatever discipline he used to stop addiction is something really hard to overcome. Well not all people are the same or has what it takes to control the urge to stop. Of course thats not included me cause I know myself that I can handle much of it especially on burning some funds into it. Totally sports but for others? Stopping gambling entirely is not the best and perfect approach to avoid chasing losses as a gambler, because it's still very possible that you can still gamble, but not chase lose if only you apply the three things O.P just said above by avoiding being too greedy, stop using an amount you can't afford to lose and stop gambling with funds that was meant to be used for other purposes just like paying of school fees and rent for gambling. Because inasmuch as you can have self control and discipline enough to only you what you can always afford losing while gambling, you will definitely never have an issue at all. And the truth of the fact is that their are lots of people who apply this very strategy. But just that they are not always that obvious like the addicted ones.

None of these is simple. I have met gamblers who know that it's bad to chase their losses and that they should control or moderate their greed, yet, at the moment, they choose between stopping and grabbing the opportunity; they choose the latter.
